How much is a self worth? We use this term rather glibly as if the worth of a self could somehow be assessed. Worth is defined as The quality that renders something desirable, useful or valuable. But it has an archaic meaning to befall or betide that is something unexpected that just happens. The two words derive from the same ancient linguistic root wer from which also emerge the words inward, versatile and weird. Clearly your self-worth is changing and while upcoming events may seem to befall you and be a little inwardly weird, I’m pretty sure you’ll be happy with the results.
