France: One Person Killed, At Least Three Injured in Nuclear Plant Explosion
An explosion was reported at a nuclear plant in southern France earlier today. One person was killed and at least three people were injured, including one seriously. Emergency officials said there is a risk of a radioactive leak. The BBC reports the explosion occurred at a major site that is involved with the decommissioning of nuclear facilities and that operates a pressurized water reactor used to produce tritium.
Japanese Protesters Commemorate Six-Month Anniversary of Nuclear Disaster
Anti-nuclear demonstrations were held in Japan Sunday to mark six months since the massive earthquake and tsunami struck on March 11, triggering the worst nuclear accident since Chernobyl. Some 20,000 people are dead or missing. More than 800,000 homes were destroyed or heavily damaged. Some 400,000 people were displaced. Concerns continue about radiation in the soil, food supply and sea. At a protest Sunday, four young men declared the start of a 10-day hunger strike to bring about change in Japan’s nuclear policy.
Naoya Okamoto, Japanese hunger strike protester: “I believe it is very important that the young generation voice their opposition against nuclear power. And in order to bring our point across, we need to put ourselves on the line, and that’s why we chose to carry out a hunger strike for 10 days.”
Carrie,
Bentonite or green clay is about the cheapest way to shield. Equal amts of bentonite and boron (boric acid). Put a scant 1/4 tsp of each in a half-gallon of water and drink 6 oz or so a couple of times a day. The clay and boron bond to the radioactive particles in the digestive system and neutralize them. I wish there was a way to perfuse these substances, but this is the simplest safeguard I know.
Worry will get us quicker than the radiation will. Aware and empowered , I know you can do it.
Love

Carrie:
I understand your concern for your children’s health. You might create a simple ritual they can do, with or without a spoken prayer, before they drink water or milk to purify it of radiation. Perhaps that will help.
Love,
Box of Rain
Thanks Amanda and Eric for keeping us on top of these things.
If only I could find ONE article that addresses the safety of milk in the US…just ONE even. I am still mixing up milk but I am not even sure the water hee in Flagstaff is safe. We ran out of the potassium iodide already so I hope my kids are ok. We also ran out of miso soup and it is expensive; just as food stamps cut off for the two oldest girls turning 18 and graduating high school. They cut by more than 67% even though only a third of our family turned 18 so now we cannot afford the special supplements and miso for the kids for radiation protection.
The radiation issue is one for which I have no solution; I fear my kids will suffer because of these blow-ups and our lack of income to compensate and protect them. So I just have to stop thinking about it or I will go crazy with worry.
In last week’s coverage of the Sagittarius alignment, what I neglected to mention is that it’s all piled onto the Nuclear Axis. The planets that are there are with few exceptions slow-movers, so the astrology is in many respects the same as what we experienced six months ago at Fukushima. At 15 Sagittarius, Venus (the ascendant ruler of the Nuclear Axis chart) is the planet that’s in the spotlight.

Here is an article about another bad year for nuclear power, by my journalism colleague Dr Peter Montague:
