This issue of the Planet Waves subscriber magazine looks into the phenomenon of when the ‘wrong’ chart works — and what an Aquarius ascendant says about the US. It turns out the ascendant degree currently houses a transiting planet getting a lot of attention in the charts of recent events: Nessus. And the Full Moon tomorrow is conjunct Nessus in this same degree. To read the full article and your Full Moon horoscope for this week, please click here to buy this issue. Mary,
You are welcome and thank you so much for saying that about my writing! I needed to hear that more than you know. ::::beaming::::
Edit: my north node/venus/ceres sits on the scor-am chart’s south node in capricorn … ah, progress …
mm.
dear dear Carrie … how can i possibly thank you? how lovely you are to let me off the hook for my grandstanding ways. I shall look for opportunities today to share that special gift with others. Bless you and the blog you write in on!
🙂
ps: my own north node /venus / ceres sits on this Scorp-America chart and it gives me such a great thrill to think of us all shifting the US corporate military machine to a network of mom ‘n pops operations across the country. Yep, we Aquarians certainly got ourselves hope!
sounds good eric, i definitely want to explore that chart further. i always thought the cardinal signs being the financial houses (or succedent houses -those which follow the angles) of sibly seems to work very well
in the scorpionic chart it is the mutables that take up that role. i can see how that makes sense too, -considering the whole financial crisis began with saturn opposite uranus in mutable -virgo/pisces (scorpionic 8th/2nd whole signs)
ya…not enough soap and water to wash that clean, to be sure. But watching this one helps to bring back a sense of um “fart”? (anti-godhatesfags protest):

Gary we must unpack the whole whole sign houses thing soon…let’s look for the right chart
Or a I guess any current, interesting chart would do — Scorp Amer throws some great curves when you go to whole sign. All that Capricorn disappears into the 12th for example
Dream,
Thanks. The birth time is from an official record, though my astrology teacher taught me how to use childhood happenings to fine tune that in case the nurse looked away at the wrong time.
I use equal house for psychological stuff and Koch to see timing of things (these were per my astrology teacher so I can’t defend them except to say that equal house really works for me when doing the psych eval on people). It has been a long time since I have tried to read a chart so I am very rusty.
I will try it the way you said and see how she feels about that. Thanks again.
Carrie, it depends on the system you use. I’m Aquarius rising, and with Saturn sextile. I use whole sign houses and classical rulerships. Works great for me.
As long as you are very confident in the time (its from an official birth record) then you can try reading that 29 Capricorn rising chart as the whole sign of Capricorn being the first house, the whole sign of Aquarius being the second house, and both ruled by Saturn -and see how that works for you
“Aquarius, in my mind, is about justice and cannot bear inequity that we have now.”
I’m a Sun/Venus/Mercury/Jupiter/Saturn/South Node Aquarius and I can tell you that we are also about HOPE as well as justice. I’m trying to keep that alive right now.
Mary,
“Sorry, I’ve over-shared (again)”
Not at all, that is not “over sharing.” If anyone does that, it is me. :::laughing::: I regularly air my emotional goings on like so much laundry on a line (and these folks are so kind and patient with me about that).
Keep it up because I have a feeling this is one of the things PW is so good for; sharing that information helps everyone see that they are not the only ones who are going through/feeling/experiencing the same (or similar) things. That’s partly why I share; so anyone else who may be feeling the same will know they are NOT alone.
You know, everything I’ve read at Planetwaves/weekly/oracle these past couple of weeks has been beyond scoring. Just saying.
And Thank you
Extraordinary stuff, Eric. I’m riveted by the news of today’s newsletter and cannot but share. Please forgive me if this is too much personal.
Like the newly updated Scorpion Chart, I have this same Aquarius rising (mine’s 21 degrees exactly) with Mercury @ 21 + with my Sun @ 25. I can totally connect with the vibe here and am pleased to come to understand the Nessus energy. I spent a lifetime working for the dems, raised in Washington, DC in a very Republican family and neighborhood. My first job was stuffing envelopes for a friend of the family running for MD Governor … wait for it … TED AGNEW (his campaign song still plays in my poor head). Ah, Spiro T. Agnew my first foray into politics, I should have known.
I’ve gone on to work for many pols and at this stage have given up the “ghost” so to speak as I just cannot bear it any longer. It is a hideous scene and I’m sorry that I’ve not been able to be part of the solution here. My Scorpio Moon, (a degree from the Scorpionic American Sun @ 23), is done … then comes President Obama and I feel some real hope. He is not power-grabbing like his predesessors and seems to understand the benefit of respect for others, total progress in my mind.
At this stage there is only up. We have a President we can trust and if we somehow pull it together we can find a way to encourage REFERENDUM voting by the people. Voting is the answer in my mind, please god(dess), everyone votes and each vote counts. OK, I’ll stop there.
Aquarius, in my mind, is about justice and cannot bear inequity that we have now. To the extent my chart jibes with the SA chart, I’d say that it was a long long Neptune transit and to wake up and find somebody’s stealing all your stuff is scary-crazy making stuff. God bless us every one.
Sorry, I’ve over-shared (again) … but this topic is very near and dear to me
mm.
Excellent weekly. Speaking of Aquarius rising and rising in general, does anyone know how to interpret a chart in which the AC is at 29 degrees Capricorn which means that the rest of the first house is in Aquarius? Does only Saturn rule that house or does Uranus rule it as well? Do I read it as an Aquarian first house or a Capricornian one?
Trying to practice this for a friend and feeling way out of my depth. Trouble is, she knows almost nothing about astrology so whatever I say, she will be happy to hear it. I don’t want to tell her the wrong thing. Thanks in advance to anyone who can give some insight into this.
Gotta hand it to you, Eric. Once again you got out in front of the wave crest. Again you raised the bar. For some time now, the phrase “this can’t be right” has been popping up in my inner dialogue as i read and study and encounter “common knowledge” or “common sense” or “conventional” this and that. This piece really gets to the heart of that encounter.
Also, yes, that video is very disturbing. The stuff of nightmares. There is not enough soap and water in the whole world to shower that one off.
You are so very correct that our first labor is a revolution in consciousness. Speaking for myself, that will involve some heavy lifting while at the same time treading a narrow path.
Thank you, Eric. May you find peace and affirmation in the week to come.
