NASA's Dawn spacecraft obtained this image with its framing camera on July 17, 2011. It was taken from a distance of about 9,500 miles (15,000 kilometers) away from the protoplanet Vesta. Vesta was discovered by science in 1807. Each pixel in the image corresponds to roughly 0.88 miles (1.4 kilometers). Image credit: NASA/JPL-Caltech/UCLA/MPS/DLR/IDA
It does feel good doesn’t it, Len? I found myself immediately drawn into fantasizing about other “worlds” as in “communities of people” and how they may have tended to their lives.
Thanks, Eric.
Eric,
Thank you for posting this photo. It’s got a serenity to it that feels good inside.
