Filling new forms: the Pisces Moon

Today is Monday, July 18, 2011. The Moon enters Pisces not long after midnight EDT after having spent the weekend in Aquarius. How was your weekend? If you packed the last couple days full of group activities — or even just thought and talked about such things — today you might get a sense of how you really feel about them. The news of the collective (i.e., the Murdoch media scandal) may be dominating conversations and the nightly news, but the Moon entering its waning phase is likely helping us to release a level of that energy that had bound itself in our bodies along with our personal and workweek stresses.

As soon as the Moon enters Pisces this morning, it makes conjunctions to Neptune and Chiron. So if you’re on the West coast or tend to sleep late, the insights that come to you may be delivered via dreams. If you are awake, Chiron will help bring things into focus the more creative you get. Whether that means trying to solve problems at work a new way or sending someone a visual message instead of trying to explain how you feel, take this opportunity to let the water move things forward.

Moon-Chiron can also be irritating, provoking awareness of situations of which you might have been in denial. The awareness that comes with this aspect might be temporary, but I suggest you pay attention to what’s bothering you today and remember it the next time you discover it’s bothering you; such is awareness.

Simultaneous sextiles by the Moon to Pluto in Capricorn and Jupiter in Taurus are going to help any creative expression break old barriers and find new forms to fill. Jupiter gives a little extra oomph to Pluto’s slow, steady upheaval. This is emotional leverage, combined with a vision — this cam be compelling. That may feel a little unnerving for some, but it doesn’t have to be like a wave crashing over a sand castle — you will not get washed away no matter how insubstantial you feel momentarily. If you can allow for the idea that an unrecognized new form is not actually formlessness, you may be able to allow yourself the patience necessary to flow with some confidence. And the Venus influence via Taurus wants it all to feel good in addition to looking and sounding good. Keep beauty part of the equation, and you can’t go wrong.

Speaking of Venus, the Moon is moving into a trine with the planet of love, which is in mid-late Cancer — the Moon’s home and the sign of ‘home’. This is some full-strength goddess-to-goddess energy. The trine is an easy-flow angle, but can also tend toward the ‘enabling’ side of easy. Keep an eye on your emotions, especially when it comes to domestic situations and intimate partnerships. As you’re busy feeling everything intensely, you’ll want to keep channeling its expression into new creative forms to avoid any potentially circular or ‘backwash’ situation. That dynamic of over-identifying with emotions can tend to churn for a while if not given a constructive outlet. With Venus in the sign of the home, consider rearranging your furniture or picking some fresh flowers if nothing else comes to mind. Sometimes simple things can be incredibly grounding.

  1. Yes indeed. This morning’s pop-into-consciousness was to Stay Aware: don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater. Destruction is on the move and this is a time to preserve what is right and good and sacred as well as turn away that which no longer serves.

    xo

Hm let’s see with Pholus in the news – and in natal chart opposite Uranus on AC both squared by transiting jupiter who is opposing natal jupiter – and then there’s Natal Pluto opposing Natal sun being transited by that moon/chyron/ neptune conjunction…..Merc is soon to be on that natal Pluto.

But my progressed chart is REALLY interesting….

LOL!! and more xo and thanks to allL!

  2. “allow for the idea that an unrecognized new form is not actually formlessness” -great advice, really diggin that concept!

and no worries amanda. tomorrow is immediate enough.

  3. whoops: errata:

i just realized in looking over gary’s draft for tomorrow’s installment that i accidentally skipped ahead a day in my astrology software without noticing while writing that last paragraph about the moon-venus trine.

that aspect is exact occurs tomorrow around 2:50 pm!

    my apologies.

  4. Amanda,
Several notes of thanks. For the proficient expression of the early lunar aspects (and the photograph ingeniously selected to go with them), thank you. For your astute recognition of the “unrecognized new form”, thank you. For your elegantly specific yet earthy description of the impending classical goddess water trine, many thanks.
