Today is Monday, July 11, 2011. The Moon enters Sagittarius at 5:46 am EDT. Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign ruled by Jupiter. You may find yourself feeling pretty good for a Monday morning, and perhaps even a little optimistic, though you will want to pay attention. With the Moon squaring dreamy Neptune in Pisces as soon as it enters Sagittarius, you can take this optimism a little further: As you’re getting ready to go in to work, pretend you’re on you’re way anywhere — maybe your dream job. Where would that be and how would that feel?
Now as you rise up in your dream-job balloon, do be aware that no sooner does the Moon square Neptune, but it then squares Chiron. The thing to remember today is not to get offended if an interaction with someone (or some aspect of inner self) feels a bit like a wet blanket being tossed onto the flame that’s giving your balloon lift. You can still rise to the occasion without tossing the blanket to the ground or being dragged down: the key is to find it within yourself to extend a little empathy and equanimity to the blanket-tosser. Yes, it can take real effort sometimes not to be offended or emotionally short-tempered. But if you can — which really means allowing yourself to change in response to what you perceive — there is a reward in the form of the Moon trine Uranus. That is, a wealth of creative energy.
On the other side of the wheel from the Moon there is some other dynamic energy available to you, in the form of Mars in Gemini sextile to Mercury in Leo. This is a source of mostly mental energy that is fueled from a slow burning passion within. Cleverness is sexy and you can reach out and touch someone with it today. Visually, both these planets are increasing in distance from the Sun, and so stretching up and out in their expressions.
The red planet Mars appears now in the early morning sky, giving us a boost of energy, assertiveness and drive for excellence. You can follow your instincts in the morning and engage wherever it is you feel the sparks inside you. There is a desire to express versatility, knowledge and adaptability in a way that rises to whatever challenge presents itself and handles it with distinction. A lot of confidence, a good sense of immediacy and perhaps even a little braggadocio are on the menu — just remember the empathy to go along with that.
In the afternoon and evening we begin to enter Mercury’s domain. Quicksilver shines in the evening sky, reaching out toward a distant boundary and quietly heating it up with the inner force of his personality and charisma. Imagine the welder or smithy who heats up a piece of metal slowly in order to begin to shape it. However arduous the task or far off the goal, it is possible to do it or pursue it with a twinkle in your eye and equanimity in your heart — and that is what counts today.

Glad you are hearing me Mr Wallick……
The healing has indeed begun…………..
I love the idea that a thread…..an item so small…that it can seem to be invisible…can be the last gramme that tips the scales……!!
Liberte…Fraternite…Egalite…..!!
Get yourselves ready…
Whatever this Antipopdean 80 year old Reichean slave has done over here in our little Queenieville…is but a shadow of what you can expect over in the land of Liittle Caesar pizzas!!!

Good Day Mr. Hill
Your perspective is welcome and well taken. Please note, however, that Eric and the Planet Waves team have done an excellent job of brining us the NOTW/Murdoch story as a cursory scroll-down will demonstrate. Tracy Delaney’s consolidation of twitters from the former staffers offers a diverse combination of perspective and experience.
Yes, most of the media in the US is turning its head, pretending not to notice, but not Planet Waves. It is indeed gratifying to a part of ourselves that a great power is being brought heel. It would be even more gratifying to our whole selves if great power were also brought to….. heal.
As to Ceres, you are invited to read my humble blog just above.
Well…Good Morning America…..!

Nobody seems to be mentioniong that funny little word… “Murdoch” ….
That worst case scenario…”Oh my God” …..he has finally been found out…..he really is fucked…this time…!!
That peculiar little mutation of the species known as “hack” AKA “News Corporation” also known as “Fox News…”
How low does a media version of scum have to sink…before revulsion and abhorrence finally drives the nail into Western Consumerism?
Does anybody in the USA really understand what is just about to happen?
We in the UK. have just about given Rupert Murdoch and his Fox News Corporation the worst “fuck you” enema that a power driven hooligan could ever expect…!!
Nobody is talking!! Everybody is silent!! Are you in shock…? Do you not get it?
We just said to you slimy American corrupt media reality manifestor fuckers…(apologies to Noah Chomsky)…..
“Try that again in your own back yard…and you are going to get yourselves cleansed!! I mean….Plutonically challenged….!! You got one hell of a furore coming up….Ceres in Aries I would guess….!!
The silence is deafening!!

Eric,
Separate mention of and special kudos for the photograph with its rich content, evocative of the bounty of summer. It fits with the subject of the blog very well. All of the elements are represented and the color palate is subtle but full. You go, man!
Gary, Eric and Amanda:
Thank you for orchestrating such a broad diversity of sky into a coherent whole. Of all the different choices of focus available in that diversity, empathy and equanimity are probably the wisest.
Yes – fantastic article – thank you guys! Much appreciated! 🙂
i am very much appreciating the multi-voice aspects of the day. (and maybe i’m deluded, but i’m pretty sure i can unknit the voice. you all have such individual ways of expressing yourselves. but, yes, i love the chorus.) 🙂 thank you for this.
