The phone just rang; it was Corbis, calling on behalf of rock photographer Neal Preston; yes we can use this image as part of our tribute to Clarence Clemons — The Big Man kissing Bruce Springsteen in Los Angeles in October 1985. Or rather, on the mouth.
Gods kissing, man love, beautiful, so real and touching, so much interferes with the expression of our love for each other, rules, regs, but mostly the jealousy of others, wonderful to see this picture!!!
I remember when I was a little girl, there was an image in a magazine I saw. I can’t remember if it was a painting or a photograph. It was an advertizement for a perfume I think. The image showed a woman and a man kissing. She had been playing the piano, he the violin… any you could see the whole story in the moment. Her hands were still on the keyboard and he, in his passion (no doubt from the combination of the music, her beauty and the perfume in question) could bear it no more and held his violin in one hand while holding her in the other as they kissed.
As a young girl I thought it was one of the most powerful images of passion I had ever seen (though I could never articulate that) I was just drawn to the Mystery in the image.
This photograph has the same magic. It still gives me goosebumps to gaze upon it, especially now, with our state finally acknowledging the many forms of love and devotion that humans can express towards one another.
Yes, a big step forward thanks to the evolutionary pulse of Uranus/Pluto = “Thou shalt Transform now!”
it is just beautiful….and in a way so normal, really, no? i mean making music, passion, and being so ON and ALIVE and ONE.
just dreaming….’course it would be so cool if we all could see it so….
And no small miracle that the New York State Senate has approved marriage equality.
This issue is now toast. Institutionalized homophobia is toast. Now we can get going on the personal angle of this issue, and understand its connection to misogyny, rape and all other forms of violence. Homophobia = fear of self, and then that gets projected onto the world as something even worse. Now the political playing field is leveling out; we can address the personal dimension.
Looking back, one of the great gains of the Uranus-Pluto square was people waking up to this thing about Queer = Normal. Said another way, Queer is not just for Queers any more.
Let’s Go Mets!
can’t stop looking at it! my brother would #@$% if he saw his hero bruce like this ๐ great synchronicity with juneteenth and stonewall . . . wow, wow, wow . . .
It is a photo I now have etched into my mind. Sort of that wow or whoa or ahhhhh I feel when I see John curled up naked next to Yoko that Annie took the day he died.

Oh hello there Brendan, nice to have you back!
I hope you had a wonderful time on holiday.
Yeah for NY state. That’s great news re. passing the gay marriage bill.
Oh yeah baby. Sax, locking lips and strong, muscular arms. Lucky Bruce!
It’s a powerful shot.
“…from the coastline to the city all the little pretties raised their hands!”
This pic looks like it says “With love from Clarence” ๐
Oh, and it’s a wonderful picture Eric!
Although this has nothing to do with Bruce or our dear Clarence, I just saw the word that NY state has passed the gay marriage bill tonight.
A nice progressive light showing in the wilderness!
