This is of course Dylan and The Band without a name. It’s at Winterland, where there was never a bad concert. The show was recorded by Rob Fraboni for Martin Scorsese, who was doing the film The Last Waltz. Contrary to some rumors, Fraboni assured me that these recordings were not overdubbed after the fact. Bob’s set ends with Forever Young — a song I’ll tell the story of next week. We will also have stories of Bob’s shows at the Gaslight Cafe and his first trip abroad. Stay tuned. May is not just Masturbation Month! Next week (I guess starting today) it will be Bob Fest.

Damn. Honey. So. Sweet.
That would be Robbie Robertson.
? The guitarist to his left (the right as I look at the screen) is Robbie Robertson? He is one of my favorites today–fantastic Native American sounds, thoughts and words. Really hot sound often. He is so young and fresh looking in this clip as he watches every move Bob makes. What a show. So glad we are in the digital age and have access to moments and sounds like these for ourselves and our grandchldren to watch and hear again. Eric, so much thank you.
Bob Dylan month!!!!! Hurray!!!!! I’m in need of some heaven. I loved your Dylan article, too. Thanks, Eric. Kat
