Am I a vicitm of anything or anyone at anytime? Or, am I utterly responsible and utterly free no matter what the apparent circumstances, as the existentialists posit?
The situation in Japan brings these questions into sharp focus. I do know that if I am present to “what is” uncontaminated by fear-based and disempowering stories, my response has some hope of being appropriate and effective, even if my only choice is how I face my death. A fine meditation today, indeed.
