  1. Spending a good chunk of Mercury Retrograde on the playa at Burning Man was one strange experience. It was at times surprisingly functional (the dust storm stopped for one hour to let us Burn the Man on time) and at other times typically dysfunctional and Mercury Retrogradesk. A lot broke. So many cars broke in the line waiting to get through the gates that the wait when the gates just opened was the longest it’s ever been, 6 hours. Day one a huge rain storm came through and decimated much that was aluminum, including our shade structure. Our RV broke (a side panel) and threatened to break (break lights) a lot through the trip, but it got us down and back in one piece and the ac never crap out on us even though it threatened to a few times.

Luckily, being on the playa I couldn’t buy anything! So no temptation there or purchasing of things that I don’t use or end up losing. And being in the kind of community that Burning Man is, I felt it was easier to handle the mental energy of this retrograde. Maybe it was how I approached my Burning Man experience – exploration, expanding my horizons, and focusing on my inner journey of healing and growth through lectures and experiences. I had no expectations but I did focus on these types of opportunities. This Mercury Retrograde from an inner and energetic perspective was the easiest I’ve been through in a long, long while.

Though I lost and broke a lot things – headlamp, bike lights (all broke), glowy things. Other things I only temporarily lost and then found later. There were a lot of fake events that were listed, but turned out to be pranks. They weren’t what they seemed, fitting with mercury retrograde.

Just thought I’d share a little bit of what it’s like spending Merc rx in an environment like Burning Man.
