Yesterday I hosted an astrology discussion at a community solstice celebration. I talk about a lot more than the solstice — the conversation goes right into 2012 astrology and the need for social rebellion. It’s not so much that I am glad, it’s recognizing the necessity, because I don’t think that too much change too fast is a good idea. Not if we want it to be real change. We have a lot of trauma to heal from the past decade and before, too.
Election Day ’08 was symbolized by Saturn opp Uranus #1, an almost startling synchronicity that was a cosmic signature of the election. At the time, there was a discussion happening: which candidate represented Saturn and which was Uranus? From what I was reading here, there was the sense that Saturn was signified by Obama: stable, educated, law-abiding. McCain was a pretty good fit for Uranus: quirky, erratic, mavericky.
Obama’s presence as stabilizing force rather than a progressive one what we need now: to have some faith that the country functions and on any level at all the law is followed.
His example as a guy who goes to work and speaks in sentences is significant in itself and may be all the leadership from above that we need these days. His presence on the world stage as a black man respected in leadership — at a vitally crucial time in world history, we all know this — is a benefit to people of all the darker races all over the world. We don’t see how much change that is, of itself, and how much change it will facilitate.
Most of the leadership necessary now is at the idea level and the community level.

I have a question about something you said while discussing how the country is going through a change in how they see Obama. I’m not sure if I made this out correctly, but I thought I heard you say in the audio clip that you were glad that Obama isn’t more liberal than he actually is. Not sure whether I agree or not. So I was wondering if you could elaborate on what you meant by that or if there was some kind of astrological context to this that you could share. Thanks!
