The Sun is moving through the last degrees of Pisces, heading for the Aries equinox early next week. That’s when the Sun ingresses Aries. The new astrological year begins, sidereal time resets to 00:00, the spring begins in the Northern Hemisphere and day and night are equal all over the planet.

The Sun also makes its annual conjunction to the Aries Point, which is a fancy way of saying the first degree of Aries. The Aries Point, in scientific terms, is the place where we align the zodiac of the seasons (western astrology) and the zodiac of the stars (used in Indian astrology). This little spot in the zodiac has some interesting properties. One of them is a magnifying effect; things that happen when something significant — such as the Sun or a planet — is contacting the Aries Point, can translate into big news with a personal impact.
Lately there have been influential planets aligning with the Aries Point — Uranus and Pluto, to name two of them. And the news we’ve been subject to has been both historically significant as well as deeply personal; notice the seamless conflation of private material (reproductive health) and the political realm, something that seems to keep becoming more militant and strident as the days go on.
When the Sun enters Aries on Tuesday, it joins many other planets currently in that sign — Uranus, Vesta, Eris and Ceres. Then two days later, the Moon enters Aries and we have a New Moon conjunct the Aries Point, Uranus and Mercury. That’s a lot of energy concentrated on the Aries Point, including the Sun and Moon. So that’s something to be aware of; in your personal life it’s likely to manifest as a turning point or a rapid series of them. This includes a sense of acceleration and a few surprises. We will be tracking that closely next week.
Meanwhile, we have our last weekend with the Sun in Pisces. Currently the Moon is in Capricorn. It’ll be there until it ingresses Aquarius on Saturday.
The Moon will pick up the vibes from the Mercury-Uranus conjunction this weekend by sextile (Aquarius to Aries). That looks like remembering a brilliant idea, or remembering who you are. Remember, this is the second of three Mercury-Uranus conjunctions during Mercury’s retrograde process, so you may experience a kind of layering effect with an idea you first had last week (around March 5; the third conjunction will be April 22). Awakening is one of the best themes of Uranus in Aries — self-awakening, or self-actualization. It could also represent a kind of hyper-narcissism, or a self-centered approach to life, but that’s more about going to sleep than it is waking up. What makes the difference? Mainly, what you want, and how far you’ll allow your vision for yourself to go.
