Today on the last day of Uranus in Pisces, American politics is in a very unusual spot, and Wisconsin is at the center of the cyclone. For those who have been following the story, or even following bits of the story, here is a video segment of Rachel Maddow — the journalist I respect most — explaining the situation.
Even if you “don’t follow politics,” please trust me, this is meaningful. I know that for those who “don’t follow politics” you may resist, but please be patient, listen and figure this out. Its connection to Uranus changing signs is incredible, vital, and validating of astrology, as well as the gradual movement toward human progress.
Think of it this way. We here in the States have put up with a lot the past 30 years that the Neoconservative movement has been rising to power, and we have said little. There is been war after war, give back after give back, a fraudulent presidential impeachment, and $14 trillion in deficit spending. We have seen the treasury looted again and again. Four hundred people have as much wealth as half the US population.
There is a faction of American politics that will not be satisfied until every real job is shipped overseas, till everyone works at Wal Mart, till nobody has health care, and until women’s rights are gutted entirely. What we’re seeing in Wisconsin is, in two words, resistance to that agenda, and progress toward the new.
In case you’re wondering about 2012, have a look.
Another good one for FEAR–Future Events Appearing Real
are you kidding me???geeeezzssss.
Looks like we’re in for a lot of diaper-changing!
although the rest of us were probably potty-trained before the age of 2….
Welcome baby New Year!, welcome Uranus!
time to school you lil’ tykes…..
p.s.
kisses for posting! some of us don’t have TV or high bandwidth for that matter here out in the sticks! moo–oooooo.
peace.
Fe – Thanks for the ‘catch’! I’ve heard that chedder is best when aged in Madison.
I look forward to savoring that delicious moment too, when we’re done with this ol’ ballgame; Freedom, Apple Pie, Cheese and all.
aword:
I will take my apple pie with locally made Wisconsin cheddar, please.
…and after we’ve won the game – that is, created a platform for this country to actually be what we have naively believed it to be for all these years – we can all sit down together to a nice piece of warm organic apple pie….
Any group of people – especially as diverse as ours – needs a leader.
To take the stance that our current leader has betrayed us is clearly falling into the divide and conquer attack currently underway on Americans. The current ‘tactics’ would never have been needed and used had we not awakened enough to elect Obama to begin with. To find a point of blame outside of each of us individually is the same reaction that kept us under the Bushco regime for so long. That is, the regime that is currently engaging in full-out-attack on Americans who hold the belief that this is NOT a dictatorship.
This is our time to step up to the plate and hit that ball out of the stadium.
This is not about Obama. It is about US.
economic disparity is greater now than at any time since the “gilded age.” common denominator? both times were when SP Sibly Mercury was Rx
hey Fe
i’ll respond : yes and no
yes the republicans are doing some bad shit and they are supported by corporations
and it’s not the white house that is doing this
but obama said one thing and did another, and he is also a strong supporter of – and supported by- corporate interests. he is showing (again) here that despite his rhetoric he is not a supporter of the working class
i would say republicans are pretty happy with what he has ‘done’, moreso than any progressive people would be
here’s a good analysis:
“Meanwhile, no matter how much incontrovertible evidence our “bipartisan” president provides for the hypothesis that he is actually a secret Republican, and no matter how vociferously he talks out of both sides of his mouth, no Democrat will run against him – not that there are many who could or would plot a significantly different course. … Therefore expect the Democratic base to rally around Obama again. One would think that, at long last, organized labor would at least make demands on Democrats in exchange for its indispensable support. But if the past is any guide, this is unlikely too. It has been a long time since labor’s vision extended beyond the abject horizons of lesser evilism, and old habits, no matter how inapt, are hard to beak.”

i’m not firing against ‘each other’ … the president is not part of the working class movement. period.
if we don’t realize what we’ve lost by giving over our agency to the illusion of a ‘great leader’ of ‘hope and change’ who will ‘work for us’ then we are truly lost.
same goes for pretty much the entire democratic party.
politics isn’t about ‘divide and conquer’ so much as it is limiting options to two ‘choices’ which both basically represent the same thing, with minor differences hiding the major common thrust that we don’t seem to have any alternative to, as far as electoral politics or mainstream media is concerned
fluidity:
Yes and no. I think what’s happening is bigger than the President, and its not all on him, but the system that surrounds him.
This is a wholesale push by the REPUBLICAN PARTY to eliminate a two party system, of which unions contribute the heaviest to democrats. This is the push to stop what President Obama has done. This push started with the Tea Party, a made-up revolution, and is a continuation of what Karl Rove has been attempting to do, but without the ruling of the Supreme Court on Citizen’s United – was not able to do.
This is from the follow-up report done in anticipation of the midterm elections of last year — an election more important than we realize:
Do not forget that it was Rupert Murdoch’s Newscorp that contributed one million fucking dollars to the Republican Governor’s Association in the early fall of 2010, with the express purpose of winning governorships like Walker’s in these key battleground states, without which, with their strong labor support, President Obama would not have been elected in 2008.
Progressives are cutting their own throats if they imagine its just about the White House. Believe me, the divide and conquer methodology is rampant throughout election politics. If we don’t work to remember what we have lost and instead keep up the circular firing squad against each other — presumably we’re on the same side, we are lost.
Obama promised change
“If American workers are being denied their right to organize and collectively bargain when I’m in the White House, I’ll put on a comfortable pair of shoes myself, I’ll will walk on that picket line with you as President of the United States of America. Because workers deserve to know that somebody is standing in their corner.” – Barack Obama, 2007
apparently the ‘change’ was in how his pre-election stance would morph into going to meetings with rich people while the people fight back against their rights getting taken away
but i guess it’s funner to bash the republicans right?
Bolder and Bolder they come since the stolen elections and nine one one.
I have lived this personally – wherein the one who lies grows so sure that his lies become blatant; he feels his ultimate control (ah! his ‘putsch’) is secure, his power too great for any to overcome.
But there’s a song about that, one that rises deep from the belly of masses.
We Are Absolutely in the Process of Overcoming.
Thanks for posting this Eric – and for keeping us conscious.
Eric: Thank you for helping us direct our focus and the uncanny but not unexpected corrolation with the position of Uranus. That is a tremendous way to mark what’s important in the flood of information that comes at us. What a wonderful service to every human wise and fortunate enough to be reading Planet Waves today.
Amanda – Exactly. Thank you.
this sickens me beyond words. great job Eric. you did better than i could simply by not puking all over the page
and just in case fear of paying attention and getting involved is strong for you today, here’s a little tidbit from an email newsletter i received today from Lotus Tarot:
“I was once told that the letters in the word FEAR stand for False Evidence Appearing Real, and the fact is that most of what we fear never ever happens.
The combination of self-belief, determination and the willingness to take a risk has helped me to conquer many challenges in my life and to achieve some great results too.”
those fears we have of standing out, being reprimanded, getting abandoned, losing respect or love or ‘reputation’, being ‘wrong’ or ‘losing control’ of our safe little lives all seem to fall under this heading…
