Winds out of the west

View toward the west from my kitchen table, in Kingston, NY at about 6 pm EST. Photo by Eric.

In eastern New York State today it’s chilly with a bright, high overcast, and powerful winds that feel like they’re coming out of the west. What’s the weather where you are? Send a photo and I’ll post it.

Sunny COLD & WINDY here in Downeast Maine.
Was warm wet & overcast yesterday, went to Blue Hill for a movie/ meeting, & by 5:00 pm a nasty sharp wind had blown up.
Nothing to photograph indicating the chill in the bones.

Winds out of the east from the Cascade Mountains, channeled by the Columbia River Gorge. That means cold (sorta…not even freezing) and dry.

Today it reached about 67 here, sunny too, but an approaching Pacific storm has whipped up the winds to around 30+, blowing dust and debris everywhere.

The winds have blown all day… Not even Grendel, my cat, wanted to go outside.

As a former (and proud!) Madison resident of 12 years, the people will come to the Capitol snow or no snow. Maybe not 70,000 like today. But if there’s a rally, people will be there.

Meanwhile, out here in Portland OR it’s nice & SUNNY!

Is it any surprise that Madison, WI, should be expecting a big winter storm over the next 36 hours? The question on everyone’s mind is how it will affect the protests at the Capitol?

It’s a mixture of snow and rain here in Southwest Nova Scotia, temp around +3.

Here in Denver it is gorgeous. Blue blue sky, bright sun with some wind. About 60F. Snow is melted melting away. Yeah!

  8. Hazel1 says:

40-50 mph gusts, 35 mph sustained wind took some pictures but I don’t know how to send them, my connection speed is dial up, so not really any speed at all. A few puffy clouds, actually it would be pretty if the wind didnt try to knock you over all day long.

ya – wind is hard to photograph; its effects, slightly easier. ;) seems to be out of the due north here, though if you could stay out of it and in the sun, it was a gorgeous low-30s afternoon.

Sydney is going to have a stinking hot SUNday.

    At 7.30am, it’s already 80 degrees (26 degrees C)

Storms forecast for the afternoon to add to the humidity.

    The mosquitos love it. =]
