Veg Quest

So I’m eating raw stuff with every meal; new concept, it’s great, my body loves it. Tonight I went down to the bar/restaurant thing here and Jenn the waitress there knows I don’t do gluten and suggests the hummus platter; I ask for some romaine lettuce with that, a bowl of it. I step away and come back and she says the chef thought you would want this, there’s a word for it in Italian, it works out to a side order of about 3/4 of a pound of romaine. I ate a lot of it, too, thinking, there has to be some useful message here, I wonder what it is. I brought the rest home (back to my room). She thought it was pretty funny. She asked, “Do you want anything else?” and we both had the same reply -- “Yes, another side of lettuce.” Abundance!

Raw veggies & savory fruits make me happy, happy, happy. This time of year, raw peas & peppers & lettuces & tomatoes & avocados & herbs … my cells are dancing.

I do cook some veg & prefer to have some raw too — I’m much better hydrated when I can eat some raw veg.

In the winter I make sure to have some raw salads of thin slices of sunchoke, carrot, fennel, & kohlrabi. Delish!

I’m going gluten free too since my trip to Jamaica. My veg of choice are cruciferous ones: broccoli and cauliflower. I feel ten years younger.
