We seem to be running more or less on time with today’s edition, which I reckon will go out in about half an hour or so. Today I cover the lunar nodes in some detail, including the sequence of eclipses that we’re currently involved in. Both ‘subscribe’ links here will give instant access to today’s publication and many recent editions as well. To purchase today’s issue on its own, complete with horoscopes for this week, please click here. To travel with us for the entire eclipse cycle, try a one-month free trial offer.

Thank you, Jere!
GraffitiGrammarian,… Astro-dienst will show you a chart of a gazillion different things including the Nodes (..technically just the N.N., ’cause the S.N. is directly across). It’s in the “Extended Chart” section.
Serennu.com creates some righteous charts too!
Those should get you there. If you run into any challenges, write again, I should be able to walk you through it.

Is there a good free web-casting site where I can double-check my north/south nodes?
I have never spent any time on the nodes but since Eric is encouraging it, I thought I would take a look.
I have an old chart print-out that shows a north/south node position but I’d like to double-check.
I went on astro-dienst but they don’t show the north/sode node positions.
Any other ideas?
thanks, GG
jbird — really great to hear about your epiphanies! and thank you for your kind words — very much appreciated.
and i have to say, singing sounds like a beautiful way to start on your way — i’ve always felt like it lets the soul out to play like few other things, esp group singing. you are *literally* resonating and vibrating with a whole bunch of people in harmony.
huh…. i miss it myself now…
I also have found Spiller’s Astrology For The Soul to be an excellent resource on the lunar nodes. I would be interested to hear about any other resources that Planet Wavers have found valuable. Kat
apologies. below i left out the info on the lunar node book of Jan Spiller. Here’s the bib: Spiller, Jan (1997) Astrology for the Soul. Bantam, New York.
hey y’all,
i found this node information to be a vital and refreshing enterprise. i listened to the podcast on weds., went home and dug up a valuable old resource (well, i don’t have any other resource of this kind) of jan spiller (find the date). However, this time i decided to take a look at not just my north node (cancer) but also the south node (cap) to see where Eric mentions as karmic, and gee shucks i certainly recognized a lot about me. Then, just to make my night, i read the house sign (virgo), and i was fucking nailed, i don’t know that i’ve ever experienced such profound me-ness in a few pages before, complete with dependency and fantasy (sure beats reality, says the old south node) and god knows i’ve been in a convent perhaps most of my past life ….etc. I didn’t sleep all night just wondering….(well, maybe condemning might be more appropriate).
But the bottom line is that those of us who know we’re stuck (hey, Amanda, it isn’t just you!), i feel that it is all for a purpose. there is this thing about learning that can be really annoying, but vital to our growing. Your working with Eric can be filled with pressure to be something “more” than you feel you are. All i can say is, groove with that, groove with the incredible mentorship you have landed in, and remember that it is never just a one way street…there’s tons you/we do to support outside of us, kinda natural to do for some, and frankly it is good vital stuff to support others who need that in order to be their best.
On another note, Eric, I think you once said that whatever really frightens one, as in there’s no way i can ever be able to do THAT, that’s prob. the thing to really consider going after. I’ve been terrified all my life of being real with older folks, and yet i’m really drawn to hospice work, and i can’t imagine anything more terrifying. So, today i get this invitation to sing with the women’s singing circle at our local hospice…..after reading my virgo north node message, and knowing that all i ever wanted to do is to serve, i feel now that this is a beginning. i’m 48, and this is an awesome new beginning…..
thank you, all.

you know, now that i’ve been involved in helping to produce PW, i often feel like it’s hard to make the time to read the issues for pleasure — that is, to let the insights settle into me, feel them, process them, apply them, move forward with them. who knows — maybe this last year or so, simply “doing” has been more important than “contemplating.” but at times i’ve missed taking time to ground what i’m reading thoroughly.
yesterday, as i thought i was just doing a quick read of this issue’s lead article, i found it sinking in, connnecting… and i found myself in tears. ‘stuck mental patterns’ has been such an apt description for me for ages. and while some of it has been loosening a bit — and eclipse day felt great for me — yesterday did not start as well in a very typical way, with a very typical mental and emotional reaction in me.
the habitual reactions and loops and stuckness is exhausting; somehow reading this yesterday brought out just how painful the exhaustion and the inner conflict is; painful to realize i do it to myself; definitely intimidating to face the stickiness of the familiar past in order to turn toward a new future; unnerving how the stuckness and reactions seem to come out of a blind spot and settle in before i realize they’re being triggered; and then in swoops the sudden, irrational fear that i have no idea how to see into the blind spot to disengage the old patterns.
but, i guess that’s what astrology helps with, along with friends who “get it” and PW’s community.
i guess i’m getting there. i’d like the moments of clarity and flow to be a little more frequent; i’d like to have more days like wednesday — days that just feel good and open. hopefully jupiter in taurus will help out with that.
and the lunar eclipse on the 15th is exactly conj my moon; maybe all that bright light will help illuminate the dark corners of my chart on the other side. i already know a little about what’s hiding out there in my 12th; time to see it even more clearly, i guess.
there have been some beautifully supportive conversations further down the page — i just wanted to wish everyone chiming in here continued progress and love and peace of mind as we work out all our “stuff.”
