so I was just writing THIS when I switched over to hear your podcast. Seems appropriate to share… to the Eris spirit…
SUN DAY …………………………………………………………………………………………
Magghie was curious about the Sun day morning service, the first time that she saw it, the first time the new neighbors brought it out the doors. It was a well received warm spell that drew them out, just before the cold waves of winter hit. Magghie peeled off her outer coat, and tied it snug round her waist. She rode Lili bareback, skirts twisted under, ambling across the field towards the gathering. Magghie’s lap was full of wild flowers that filled her apron with their seed. She had scooped handfuls of the loose wild seed and was bringing it to offer the Mormon wives, for spreading round their cabin – to bring the color of spring flowers to their doorstep.
The group was huddled on wooden benches under the wide white oak, behind the barn. When Magghie approached, their heads remained bowed, as they whispered together in perfect unison. Not wanting to disturb them, Magghie slowed the mare to stand and listen. The rhythmic whispering fascinated Magghie… She was curious… What were they saying? Was it a secret? A song or poem, known only to them?
Magghie dismounted and crept closer, gathering her apron up around the flowers and seed. Her bare legs shivered with the autumn breeze through her skirt. She heard Isaiah raise his voice; heard the word of god and for give in us many times, and the votion and serve us. She heard all mighty words, and then she sneezed.
All at once the congregation raised their heads, turning towards her. Magghie held out her hand – full of seed, and called to them a familiar German greeting,
“Schoner Tag,” wishing them “en faire eun fruidl achmen” ( A fair and fruitful morning…)
They did not seem to heed her words or wishes, or even understand her gestures.
Nor did she understand what they whispered; but she felt the seething words that shot, in-decent, into her ears. The women blushed and bowed their heads. The elder Wife took her sons by their ears, turning them clear away, eyes down, from Magghie, leading them back in doors.
The young Wife flushed scarlet as she struggled to her feet and scampered towards the cabin, her arms clasping her blue book tight, against her full round belly.
It was the Elder’s voice that broke the sudden hush. He would not look at Magghie, but he spoke severely, an accusing tone aimed directly towards her, to blame.
Magghie remained, utterly astonished, as he strode off, trail blazing.
She looked down into her hand at the mix of delicate and sturdy seeds. Some the wind would take and scatter, others needed help, raking in. So now, what might she do with them? Seeing as the new neighbors did not have any interest in her offering, she took it upon herself to sprinkle the wildflower seed in a perfect circle, wide around the oak. Lili followed behind her, stomping the seed into the soft earth.
Her hand emptied, Magghie took up the slack on Lili’s rein. Looking into Lili’s half-closed eyes, at her relaxed, drooping lower lip, Magghie grinned.
“Your dragging feet made that job easy… a circle of flowers come spring.
Well, you don’t understand them either, but at least you don’t lose sleep over it.”
Then Magghie leaned against the huge oak trunk, still holding her own share of precious wild flowers, and their generous seed, tucked in the full apron, safe against her belly.
BurningR:
This is interesting, your referencing Kali Yuga, as I’ve been researching another eastern mythical deity, that of the Chinese goddess Kuan Yin who is known as the “compassionate rebel.” I have been delving into her story these past few weeks and resonating with her archetypal energy, which also sounds very similar to that of Eris.
Glad you enjoyed the Kiki Dee song!
Oh WOW! Are you living inside me Eric? Much resonance there!
One day, I will buy you a meal
Thank you – you are helping me to have faith in all the stuff that’s seeping around as the beanstalk grows!!
This is such an awe-inspiring time to be living through for sure!!
So, if I were to imagine something a bit off the beaten track of my apparently conventional relationship (minus the silk scarves, rose petals and little whippy sticks) I’d do it with you Eric, in hopes that I would allow you to expand my capacity for pleasure and self-acceptance, and, in the event that you would consent, and that you allow me to return the favors. Since we are talking in hypotheticals, I am courageous enough to consider the idea, my nickname being, as is well known, all talk and no action, or that I endeavor to be a person who insists on perfect freedom inside her own head.
shebear
great song! thanks for sharing. yeah. we’re definitely untangling ourselves. you go, girl
Thanks for your “take” of Eris today. She really resonates with me (wonder where she was in my natal chart…hmmm). Isn’t there an Eastern Indian Goddess who embodies this type of energy/power? The kind scary to a lot of men?(Kali?)
As far as Merc rx/Eris/Aries casting a light on one’s self that is “askance”. I had a realization about my self that was so “other” yesterday than all my conceptions of my self, and was so absolutely true (it had to do with choice and power, and my obviously undercover use of it, which was beneficial to me) that I laughed out loud.
Yeah, Eric. It’s happening. Thanks for helping us mark these mileposts and pay attention.
Ah, wonderful typo…”*Her* is your 4-6-11 podcast.” YES! *Her* is your wish day. Magical wish day on the backs of Sun and Jupiter, Mercury and Eris, Neptune into Pisces and the many, many other supporting aspects that are making our dreams come true. A super uplifting podcast Eric. Many thanks.
Here’s is the song I chose at the w/e as my wish for the Aries new moon.
Join in with me peeps!
The wish that keeps on singing.
