If you don’t want to pass through an airport scanner that allows security agents to see an image of your naked body or to undergo the alternative, a thorough manual search, you may have to find another way to travel this holiday season.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is warning that any would-be commercial airline passenger who enters an airport checkpoint and then refuses to undergo the method of inspection designated by TSA will not be allowed to fly and also will not be permitted to simply leave the airport.
That person will have to remain on the premises to be questioned by the TSA and possibly by local law enforcement. Anyone refusing faces fines up to $11,000 and possible arrest.

phall – Please look at Mercury, that will speak volumes and indeed make us realize that these are just the first pages of the preface to a rather long volume. Uranus is not without a role either. Finally, it will all come down to Pluto. That’s how it looks from here. We are not talking about one day.
What’s the astrology like for the 24th. . .the day we’re supposed to boycott TSA?
I travel by air maybe 5-6 times a year and have not yet been faced with this “choice”.
A work colleague of mine recently was in the Albuquerque airport and was patted down. She described it to me as invasive and offensive. The thing is, she’s not particularly shy or sensitive about being touched. She couldn’t believe how bad it was. She was late for her plane and didn’t say anything — she said she just bit her lip and endured it.
I can tell you that I have encountered the security supervisor at ABQ. He has shown himself to be quite fond of the power he wields. He appears to be ex-military.
This situation just might be an opening to more questioning about our “security” and the measures being taken by the government. One can hope.
I think the only thing to be done is to subject every one of our legislators in Washington to this process and see what comes of it.
Nevermind, I read the article. Still sounds like bs.
Wait, why is it that metal detectors aren’t good enough anymore?
well this reeks of fascist bullshit just before the “peak” travel holiday. will people protest by opting out of flying to see relatives, probably not, but if they do, the airlines will take a big hit this holiday season … will people protest at the airport.. probably not but … now that would be good to see..
This too involves inside deals.
I’m sure I’ll fly again – but I’m glad I got most of my hardcore obsessive travel out of the way the past 20 years. It’s just not appealing.
Driving up to Madison on the back roads? Taking a week to get there? That sounds like fun.
That’s flavored with a lot more than simple “mandatory”.
hmm… think we’ll see a spike in airline tickets bought by exhibitionists and the very lonely?
