    Believe it or not — those hands have “LOVE” tattooed across his knuckles, and a love daisy mixed in somewhere. The bracelets are a whole other story, as is the plastic flask…

    Eric –

    Just got rocked by your Rocky picture. I remember him 35 years ago. He was a golden gloves boxer. Had a vehicle (a car/truck?) festooned with all manner of things unique in Woodstock to say the least. He was sinewy, always had a smile, and always ready to help. Made money helping people move and hauling… Saw him a few years ago when I was back, he was combative and aggressive. Sad to see him like that but amazing to see he was still alive in the shape he’s now in.

    My ongoing metaphysical backgammon…. Great shot of a true guru bum. Bearded, beaded, boozed, yet beloved. He has some great stories, and he’s been the inspiration — or at least the plot of many of mine, especially at work. Needless to say, we have taught each other a lot and I know that on some level he “gets it” even though more than half the time he doesn’t remember it. Lately, if either one of us can tolerate each other we have a weekly 10 min. rap and catch up, and sometimes I even feel good after it. “I do my thing, and you do your thing”………
