  1. GraffitiGrammarian says:

During the mercury retrograde I had a vacation trip that involved friends, and it took some unexpected turns.

One of the friendships blew up while two other friendships were new and got off to a really good start.

The two new friends both turned out to be Buddhists (they did not know each other previously). So I found myself on vacation with these two spiritual seekers — amazing!

They were so thoughtful and supportive and made me really examine a million things about myself.

One big thing that I learned is to STOP ENGAGING with negative energy, and this is a path of real freedom. When someone attacks or accuses me of something, I now don’t argue with them — I simply do not engage with them.

Unless of course it’s a survival issue but most of the time it’s just petty ego annoyances.

Before I used to fight back, insist that they were wrong and that I was right, struggle to prove my point, etc.

But there is no point to this kind of struggle. When others are acting out and attacking you with negative energy, they do this not because of something in you but because of something in them.

They are struggling or suffering internally, and fighting back is not going to help them or stop them.

And fighting back causes stress and anxiety to the person who is being attacked, so it is much better simply not to let that energy in.

So I don’t do it anymore. I let the negative-energy folks just stew in their own juices.

;-) Boy it took me a long time to learn that.

Thanks for asking that question. It brought me to an important insight. I’ve learned that I really can rely on myself and stand alone, whenever I need to. This is a biggie for me, and I learned it, but was not aware that was the underlying gift of these past few weeks until I posed the question.

    feels pretty good, actually.

I have learned that “I am the flow is happiness” and the longer I live, the better life gets.

What I’ve learned? Or, rather, what I’m continuing to learn? …

That less is more: with relationships as well as with money and resources.
