  1. you are versatile, which allows for an incredible ability to balance, depending upon what is going on. I am sure you know this, and use it to “self-medicate” in your healing processes, which is cool. to continue the metaphor, this versatility also makes you immune from name-calling, as you cannot be pigeonholed…
your photos are cathartic for me, I study them for my own healing issues.

    -keep them coming.

  2. I was literally just on the phone having a debate with a lover about the burgeoning sexuality phase for adolescents and how that is healthily parented as a key phrase. She is balanced and open minded as a parent and yet even she has had discussions around ‘promiscuity’. I pointed out straight away that this takes us away from choice and toward moral proclivities of status quo upholders. We make so many things taboo as a society that a marketing department with a budget could be justified to manage the throughput.

The seemingly ‘out of place’ *nudes* on here are all expressions of dismantling taboo – learning to appreciate freedom from shackles. I love the photos. Adults getting real.

Light relief from the ‘hardcore’ astrology and world scene reflections seems akin to a commercial break in a TV schedule. Many of Amanda’s photos fulfill the same beneficial purpose. How anyone can compare these photos to porn is beyond me.. Contrast them maybe!

I would ask all ladies who find these photographic vignettes to be {as far as I can see, charming expressions of innocence and self-experience} to post on this thread about just why they find the representational or directly visceral aspect, compelling.

  3. The naked lady photos posted on Planet Waves are contemptuous. I feel sorry for the women who have been talked into these crude, akward poses. The photos are disrespectful of the models and the site’s readers.

I don’t know what in the hell Eric is trying to communicate. I wouldn’t want to visit a homosexual astrologer’s site and find picutures of butt fucking and I don’t see much difference between the two.

Eric is a masterful astrologer. His other photos are very lovely to look at. But personally I don’t care how he gets his rocks off and wish he would refrain from posting such bizarre depictions of women.

    Dear E______

You sound certain of your position. Perhaps you could argue the other side. I am not sure where you get the reference to anal sex; these are sublime images with no direct intent to sexualize what is shown.

I will tell you a bit about the two images and why they appear now. To the extent possible, my models understand the Book of Blue project in its psychological and spiritual angles as well. We are making art, and the art is part of an idea involving the exploration of self awareness.

The model in the kimono arrived in the midst of my covering the explosion at Fukushima 1. I was exhausted, fortunately friends with her; with her encouragement I mustered up the energy to work with her (she would have been paid in any event). For me this was about persisting with art and the love of beauty in the face of a terrifying global crisis. We jokingly agreed to get in contact and do a photo session if we found out “the world was ending.” We love working with one another and find it to be deeply healing.

It was the first natural light session of the season. We were so glad to be able to shed the artificial lighting setup often necessary in winter, when busy schedules preclude working during the business day. We both loved that image because of the subtle differences in facial expression in the simultaneous dimensions, the mirror and the direct image. She has a Gemini Moon, and we saw that theme visualized.

The meta theme of the mirror images is having the courage to face the mirror.

In the upper (more recently posted image), a session from late last year, I selected that last night as a representation of the model handing the mirror to the viewer. In principle you’re supposed to look at her and lust or marvel. She is leaning out and saying, “Look at yourself. Here, I’ll make it easy for you.”

In 2009 I presented my work at the American Psychological Association. As you may know, this is neither a liberal nor a particularly sex-positive organization. My seminar, given to professional psychologists, was based on my process of exploring female inner gaze.

Here is an article about that, from the time of the event.
