   Astro.com is now part of Astrodatabank (vice versa, actually), which is one of the more reliable sources of data — they at least have source notes. I would trust that chart. If you see noon, that almost always means ‘unknown time’.

   This tells us he’s Capricorn rising with Mercury in the ascendant. Judging from his writing, that sounds about right.

   Eric, I checked out a few sites and find a conflict for the time of his birth. As I’m new to this I’ll throw out the times and the sites and see if you recognize a reputable one.

   His birthday was 18 January 1932 at 06:00am in Brooklyn New York. That site was Astro.com and that time of birth is used on another site. Adze.com however puts it at 12:00pm.

   As I wouldn’t regard myself as an expert at this type of research, I don’t know if there are better ways to secure an accurate time of birth. Any tips would be appreciated?

   BTW it’s bedtime for me here so I’ll check back in the morning.

   Shebear, if you hunt down the data, I’ll look at the chart. That’s a good general rule — but we can’t have fuzzy data so everyone, please check a couple of sources, know your sources, deal with the conflicts and tell me what they are; we don’t want to read some other chart.

   Robert Anton Wilson used/discovered/propagated the number 23 as a meme in his fiction. It stalked him via synchronicity and it seems many other people as well (not me, I’m more of a 444 and 11:11 type). It is a reference, in his work, to the goddess Discordia (Eris, in our terms). It’s associated with the 23rd day of any month though in particular July, when the Sun is supposedly conjunct Sirius A-B-C, the Dog Star triple system — I have not verified this — but it’s traditionally held to be so. [Sirius is one of the main stellar energies addressed by Alice Bailey in Esoteric Astrology.] In ancient Egyptian times this was around when the Nile flooded, bringing nutrients up to the fields. Sirius A-B-C is an important star in our consciousness, grounding the energy of 6D, the dimension of the psychic architecture that supports the world; it’s kind of like the ‘original version’ of the world of which our planet is a tattered copy. This in turn is sometimes referred to as the mental plane on a continuum that goes:

   Physical – Astral – Causal – Mental – Etheric – Soul

   (different traditions vary and there are few denser dimensions than physical; one could be the dimension on which minerals ‘think’ and ‘feel’ and in particular condense energy patterns. Think of these as wavelengths along a radio dial each of which has a different feeling and interprets the same information a different way).
