Sun-Jupiter in the Most Mysterious Degree of Gemini

There’s one degree of Gemini that I’ve written several articles about and mentioned in many more. It’s the next-to-last degree of that sign. The late degrees of any sign can be a bit mysterious — astrologers notice that quirky things happen when a planet or the Sun is there. When the Moon is there it’s usually what is called void of course — that is, done making aspects to planets while in the current sign.

I’ve been watching this degree since Sept. 11, 2001. I know that to the day because it’s the degree where the Moon was when the Sept. 11 incident happened. I noticed it again the day of a huge earthquake and tsunami in December of 2004. I noticed again in the chart for Wikileaks. Then it turned up in several of the charts associated with the Fukushima nuclear disaster.

Most recently (allowing a one-degree margin), it turned up in the chart of Edward Snowden, the NSA whistleblower — the guy who had the guts to remind us that we’re being spied on. Yes, a lot of strange and not-so-positive things happen when there’s something associated with this degree — and there’s also a pattern of the truth coming out.

This week, there’s a Sun-Jupiter conjunction in this degree on Wednesday — right at 28+ Gemini. This conjunction threads together all of those events.

The Sun is conjunct Jupiter once per year. Jupiter returns to a sign once every 12 years. So there will usually be one Sun-Jupiter conjunction per sign that Jupiter occupies. Sometimes due to timing factors when you combine two cycles (the Sun’s and Jupiter’s), the Sun-Jupiter conjunction skips a sign, though that’s fairly rare.

Sun-Jupiter conjunctions can take place anywhere in a given sign. They tend to dance around the degrees. I got curious and checked when there were any other Sun-Jupiter conjunctions in this particular degree, starting in 1776. Turns out there have been two: one on June 20, 1847 and another on June 20, 1930. One corresponds with the discovery of Neptune; the other with the discovery of Pluto.

Sun-Jupiter conjunctions are almost always friendly aspects. If you know about this conjunction — and now you do — you can leverage it to your advantage. The Sun and Jupiter are both opposite the Galactic Center in Sagittarius, hinting that this event may bring more news about the NSA spying to the surface of awareness. There are other news developments likely — this certainly seems like a global moment.

It can work for you personally as well. There may be issues in your life that you’ve remained silent about for too long. This astrology is a setup for reaching a point where you simply cannot go on the old way, and where you need to make peace with the fact that your personal truth matters more than the circumstances that may surround it. Often events that happen at the end of a zodiac sign point to a moment of inner transformation. This week’s Sun-Jupiter conjunction illustrates that happening in an exceptional way.

  1. Wandering Yeti,

The first clinic would be for an antibiotic and pain meds that would keep the infection in check until your extraction can be scheduled. 211 made the suggestion and from experience I know they are correct.

  3. Thanks Mia. In the mean time the practices that have been with me long enough to become habits come in handy at a time like this. Deep breathing is one. Observing yin states before I get totally burned out is another. By tuning into pain instead of seeking to destroy it I’ve found my way out of a lot of sticky spots. Training the monkeys to sit and listen, observe and learn keeps them from throwing a fit and making the pain worse since head brain isn’t getting the message. Jupiter rules my lunar north node; I suppose as it inflates consequences radiating from the past it shows a way out of worn out responses to similar sensations. I’ll find a way to get the tooth pulled. It slams into a tooth above too sharply anyway. It will be easier to chew without it.

  4. Wandering Yeti,

Most states have something equivalent to a Community Action program where, if you have no money, you can get a voucher to go to one of the dentists they have a relationship with to have a tooth pulled. If you are using the library look up the Human Services Department for the state of Oregon. I know people who have used this when they needed to and everything was taken care of for them. They will not finance expensive dental work but they will cover having the tooth pulled. Also, when you are at the library check out Modest Needs. You can sign up and tell them about your situation and there is a good chance they will fund it.

    Mia

  5. Portland, Oregon…yeah, we’ve got some county dental clinics here, but even for a simple thing like a tooth extraction it still costs somewhere between $40 and 50 even if you don’t have any money. Gonna check out a mobile dental van as soon as I can find a phone to use.

  6. Wandering, maybe you can create a solution. Pulling a tooth is one of the cheapest things, among dental treatments. Maybe somebody can lend you the money? Maybe a community clinic, as P.Sophia said… and are you really sure that if you go to an hospital they don’t do it? i knew that they are somewhat obliged to in the US, even if you have no insurance…
    Keep faith!

  7. Dear Wandering, I am so sorry, to hear about your tooth. I am in a similar boat, but have some support and I am keeping the faith as I am inspired by you. Is there not a community clinic you can go to? Where you are living? If you can get to CA, please know I will help if I can.

    xps

  8. That’s the degree of my lunar south node with progressed Saturn on degree away. Got a dead tooth, no funds. Ugh. One can’t even get a tooth pulled for free even with no income.

  9. Fascinating!
First, because this past week it occurred to me we’ve heard nothing from the pope in a while, and I’m not one to concern myself with matters papal.

“This astrology is a setup for reaching a point where you simply cannot go on the old way, and where you need to make peace with the fact that your personal truth matters more than the circumstances that may surround it.”

This is a huge theme for me now. HUGE! I’d say it’s everything.

LindaGM – just *reading* you description of Elisa’s energy exercise sent a chill (a good one 😉 ) through me. She is the real McCoy.

  10. “Yes, a lot of strange and not-so-positive things happen when there’s something associated with this degree — and there’s also a pattern of the truth coming out.”

As in the ever-repeating, albeit as yet unsuccessful, FBI search for the remains of Jimmy Hoffa. Based on yet another “mobster tip,” digging began again yesterday here in Michigan . Supposedly this is the fifteenth such excavation expedition for Hoffa’s remains in thirty-eight years. Wonder where the Atlantis degree was for those digs? Not an earth-shaking matter, but definitely . . . strange and quirky.

    JannKinz

  11. Wow! That’s just amazing, Linda! What a beautiful exercise – must have been wonderful to watch the transformation in people.

  12. In Scandinavia at the moment co-leading tantra workshops. Last night did an exercise that ELISA Novick teaches where you walk verrry slowly towards a person from far away and notice the energy field changing as you draw closer. People were crying from joy and connection when they were still 20 feet away from one another! It was the most sacred moment I have ever witnessed – all 32 participants were deeply moved. Expansion and light = Jupiter and the Sun! Wonderful!

  13. This is right on top of my ascendant, and I haven’t won the lottery, and MacArthur hasn’t called. Ripoff! I keep thinking something really great fantastic amazing is going to happen–or that i’ll have let my big chance go by because I’m too busy to send off a book proposal/do a ritual/send out a resume. So I’ll be spending the big day taking Chris for an outpatient surgery, and hopefully all that great energy will go toward fast and full healing. Good enough.

  14. My apologies, I’ve given the chart info of the retired pope, Pope Benedict, not Pope Francis. How quickly we forget.

So perhaps this means the retired pope is working behind the scenes with his Gemini Mars as it is being blessed with this Sun-Jupiter conjunction (probably the best way to get anything done!) I certainly hope so. In the meantime, Pope Francis is receiving the Jupiter-Sun conjunction too; as an opposition to his Sagittarius Sun-conjunct north node conjunct Galactic Center. Wouldn’t it be cool if these two popes could find enough balance between them to solve some of the ills of the world or at least this institution? After all, Pope Francis’ Mercury (11+ Cap) is conjunct the cusp of his 7th house of partners (10+ Cap) and transiting Pluto was stationed there and has been in that 2-degree area for 5 months so far.

Anyway, thanks Paola and Judith for bringing me back down to earth with your links to the good works of the present pope. Otherwise, I might still be circling out there somewhere!

  15. Well, it seems that yesterday the Pope did this:
    http://roma.repubblica.it/cronaca/2013/06/16/foto/raduno_harley_a_roma_papa_francesco_benedice_i_bikers_in_via_della_conciliazione-61193655/1/?ref=NRCT-61193607-2#1
(blessing of Harley motobikers gathering :-)), spoke against modern times ideologies that take people away from life (expert say that this is also to confirm the message delivered one month ago – against abortion), and addressed a message to the G8 participants, for a stronger committment against tax evasion.

  16. Thanks Eric. I wonder if this could mean something quirky (or mysterious!) will be coming from the Pope since his Mars at 29+ Gemini is so close to the Sun-Jupiter conjunction. His natal Mercury at 28+ Pisces is exactly square the conjunction of trans. Jupiter and Sun.

In a chart for the “modern” Vatican (6/7/1929) Saturn is at 28+ Sagittarius (rx) so it’s conjunct the GC and opposite the trans. conjunction of Jupiter-Sun. The Vatican’s natal Saturn in Sagittarius trines the natal Neptune at 28+ Leo and quincunxes the trans. conjunction, while the Vatican natal Jupiter at 28+ Taurus squares natal Neptune in Leo and is quincunx natal Saturn in Sagittarius.

That means the Vatican’s Taurus Jupiter is sextile the Pope’s natal Mercury in Pisces and semi-sextile his Gemini Mars (but conjunct his natal Venus at 29+ Taurus!)

On the other hand, the Vatican Neptune in Leo sextiles the transiting conjunction of Sun-Jupiter in Gemini but squares it’s own Taurus Jupiter.

Fortunately, the Pope’s Gemini Mars is sextile the Vatican’s Neptune in Leo and with a little Gemini magic, Neptunian illusion and Leo drama, something that makes sense could be forthcoming.

    http://www.neptunecafe.com/benedict.html

  17. As always….I love it…even if it is bang clang square natal Saturn….thanks… I want to try and push the envelope…if you will allow me!!

    Is Trust an Obsolete Concept?

    I’ve got the Moon transit conjunct natal Quaoar right now…..Cardinal Cross… Sun… Uranus… natal; Pluto… Uranus…transits.

“In the chart for the 1st formal meeting of Mensa Organization, we find Moon as the chart ruler (most likely Cancer is rising) conjunct Quaoar in Libra……..”

Let’s call a spade a shovel, and sing into existence some historically accurate anthropological phenomena. I should also add that this is not a pop at any one person, culture, or nation, but is at the front end of my perceptual lobes and solar plexus, based entirely on experience. If the cap fits….wear it….embrace it…own it…and dance!

What exactly is…trust? Now any of us can offer up a whole host of examples, within our familial, community, and working lives, of situations that have both proven the existence of trust, and sadly also shattered our faith in it’s validity! As a child ( if we are lucky ), we learn about rules, parameters, boundaries, and normative conditions, and then practice them with guidance from our peer group. Slowly the horizon widens, the playing field of our lives broadens significantly and we learn about value scales and success/failure ratios. We then process the experience and allot a sense of trust or suspicion to the people to whom we are close and indeed not so close. The degree of closeness is not always a relevant factor, since I can trust that the ATM (Cash machine) will shell out the ££££s when I code it appropriately. Trust then takes on a range of parameters, pretty much like the word good. Our perception of it, and its defining characteristics, vary according to the word that it is attached to.

In the West African Bush, children seem to assimilate information on a different level. There is very little experiential development of strategy. Everything is geared to living in the now, the present. Yesterday went down with the sunset, and if we survive the day, tomorrow will begin with a call to prayers at 5 am. As the Sun rises nothing else matters. My wife J J learned survival techniques at around the age of 2-3 years. Instinct is like a radio frequency, you tune it in and reference it 24/7. Reading people’s faces and their body language is an art form, learned well practiced by the age of 5. In one of my first meetings with Jaliba Kuyate, kora master and popular entertainer, one of his youngest daughters handed back to me the 5 dollar bill that I offered, and insisted with howls, screams and gestures that I at least double the offering to the Griot, as is custom! This is perhaps why many ethnic groups around the world recruit instinct-driven children to work as thieves and con-artists.

Instinct is a primal drive. Perhaps trust as a concept and theoretical construct is blindsiding us, and actually inhibiting our ability to keep the frequency open. The messaging, processing, and delineation of a situation which produces trust factors has given rise to industries that perpetuate the double-edged sword of uncertainty that this process breeds. Instinct gives you a read-out with an immediacy that can literally save your life! The 20th century, while having made great leaps in technology and innovation, has impacted on the instincts of our cultures less where civilisation has not encroached on tribal and ethnic practice to the same degree as it has in our wonderful world of paparazzi in every street!

I learned with some amazement last night that Aboriginal groups in the Australian outback actually sing the maps in their heads to lead them to the water sources that have sprung up across their territory! They have a song that is taught for each of their chosen destinations. Just as 4G is being sold-on with the all singing Sat Nav in your I cabbage…..who needs it?

It reminds me of the fact the in the 2 Billion years that it has taken for the light of an imploding Galaxy to arrive on Earth… we have developed the eyes to see it, and the consciousness and technology to record it!

Perspectives! How do you feel…? Could you learn how to trust your instincts….or is that a contradiction in terms?

    Paul
