Good morning,
If you’re new to Planet Waves, Friday is the day that we distribute Planet Waves Astrology News — our premium edition. Tomorrow is a lunar eclipse in Capricorn. Today’s edition offers one last bit of astrological guidance about eclipses, focusing on one of their main properties: points of manifestation. We experiment with many different ways to change our lives, to grow and to evolve — and eclipses are designed to help.
We also have new writing from Judith Gayle, whose Political Waves column keeps the news in perspective; and a new weekly Planet Waves horoscope. (By the way — the July monthly horoscope went out to subscribers on Tuesday, and the Inner Space Monthly goes out to subscribes next Tuesday.)
We offer this cool daily blog, yet Planet Waves is a subscriber site. We were one of the first sites on the Internet whose subscribers feel so strongly about the content that they actually pay for it. That’s our business model, and it works to provide excellent services to our customers as well as a relevant, entertaining and fast moving blog for everyone. So if you love Planet Waves, you can indulge in a little more — for example, my horoscopes, which put us on the map — as well as many other features available to our premium members; and that, in turn, allows us to offer our ‘free’ services to new readers.
Subscribers will be receiving your email in a few minutes; we’re working through the various lists. If you’re interested in signing up, here is a discounted six-month subscription option — or sign up for our free trial offer.
Yours & truly,

Today’s Oracle takes us back to the Cancer weekly of July 16, 2004
This weekend’s New Moon in your birth sign is an astrological workshop in how far you’ve come in your ability to relate to people. No relationship is perfect; some are more or less perfect than others. But what you have is the capacity to grow and adapt, and this more than anything is a distinction for which you must recognize yourself. You’re at the point where you can see people’s perceived weaknesses as concealing their most unique assets, and offering you unusual opportunities to relate on a deep level. Enjoy your strengths; and enjoy how aware of you people are. It’s been a while since you noticed.

Dear Eric,
It was the grand cross in 1999 [that got me to subscribe]. I have Sun, Mars, Mercury and Venus in Leo and Moon in Aquarius, and your words (and Planet Waves generally) were the the only meaningful external source of wisdom I found at the time that were both practical and mind-expanding. That experience really made me think of myself as someone who was now permanently associated with Planet Waves.
It’s the practical/esoteric combination — I can read PW for a stimulating and really refreshing alternative perspective on the world when I’m cruising along, but when things get challenging, there’s something really constructive and helpful for me to take away and chew on.
About that perspective, I love PW and feel at home here because it is organic and open and it reflects my primary interests. Its focus is on humans, their relationships (with each other and with culture, including science), their bodies, their spirit and the beautiful and precarious world of which we are custodians.
Love your work,
Katie from Canberra

Things are falling into place for the grand-cardinal-Aries-point-full-moon-lunar-eclipse-cross that will take place this coming Saturday, June 26. Here’s a brief breakdown for you to consider while you hyperventilate.
Retrograde Pluto in Capricorn is applying to oppose the Cancer Sun. Roughly speaking, this happens about once a year and it can indeed be rough. Its resonance has at least one thing in common with eclipses of which it will be a part — a sense of loss. Risk is also a factor, the kind that tempts you. Also, it is not the time to get into an argument with the umpire (or any authority figure) who will be in no mood.
The Moon is in Sagittarius where it will conjoin the Great Attractor today and the Galactic Center tomorrow before its transit into Capricorn. That’s a lot. Our intuitive and emotional connection with the cosmos will still smell of the the great mysteries of the universe when it hooks up with Pluto and, minutes later, opposes the Sun for a Full Moon/lunar eclipse. That’s like sleeping with everybody in the band over the course of two days. Somebody give that Moon a medal.

Today’s Oracle takes us back to the Aquarius weekly of July 30, 2004
You should have no doubts about who you are at this point, unless of course you aspire to far more. In which case I suggest you liberate yourself from all doubts and reservations about who you want to be, or more likely, who you are becoming. Your visionary sense is strong now, so strong that it’s working like psychic architecture to create the reality. How people develop may be something of a mystery, but whether we know how it works or not, we do keep growing. That process is not nearly as chaotic as it may feel, though your sense of chaos will come and go as you apply or withdraw faith in yourself.

Hi Eric,
When I first began subscribing to planet waves I was still coming from a fairly unconscious place and my interest was mainly the horoscopes. Yours seemed a lot deeper and more personal than most and I liked the frequency of them. The politics and the bigger picture and feeling like a part of something didn’t come until a bit later, when I was simultaneously working my way towards becoming a more conscious human being.
I think the fact that the articles are so inclusive, Eric, makes me feel as though you have a heartfelt desire for everyone to awaken, to be active and it translates, I don’t know how. It is subtle but at the same time loud. You speak to the humanity in us, that which connects us.
So, as I said, my focus was pretty self-centered initially but your voice was insistent. That you referenced other material like A Course in Miracles was a huge turning point for me. In fact, I went and read it because I was encouraged to educate myself so I could better understand what you were talking about. I had encountered it and other sources you’ve mentioned like Edgar Cayce and the Theosophical Society independently and I felt as though the universe was speaking to me. I think that was the moment I realised that you are a human being with a whole world of your own experience that you are sharing with me and that our paths cross, in ways beyond a weekly horoscope. That is why I subscribe. And because I can count on you all there to uncover the truth, I feel your integrity.
Lots of love,
Bronwyn from Sydney

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don’t stand in the doorway
Don’t block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There’s a battle outside ragin’.
It’ll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin’.
Times They Are A Changing
–Bob Dylan
Saturn and Uranus oppose each another in a clash of Titans, reminding me that I wore flowers in my hair in Golden Gate Park long before the Summer of Love, feeling the energy dance on my skin like fireflies sparking off light. That was before the drugs went bad and the ghetto-fires raged, before the snipers loaded their rifles and St. Ronnie the Reagan told us that hippies looked and smelled like Cheetah, before the establishment decided that kids were the enemy, before the churches began to howl about taking back American values. Even when it all went viral, the air was electric with purpose and determination. And while this isn’t the Summer of Love, Part Deux, perhaps it’s the cynic’s version.
Those were days when we had supreme confidence both in ourselves and in our ability to impact the world. We believed in the vote, in the Constitution and the American system of checks and balances. We had respect for science that took us to the Moon, and medicine that gave us the first heart transplant. Television was benign, and news still showed actual pictures of war deaths and protests against them. We gave a slight nod to militarism at its leanest and meanest, but considered Vietnam an egregious example of exploitive empire building. We cracked open politics to get a good look at its dark underbelly. We marched through the haze of tear gas and threats of baton-wielding cops to make our voices heard. Our American Dream was more about freedom’s potential than its actuality, even as we took advantage of the liberty that citizenship provided us. We had no idea how good we had it.

Today’s Oracle takes us back to the Leo weekly of May 09, 2008
A career matter is likely to be the focus of a personal relationship, and in some ways it’s a turning point there. Professionally and personally, you appear to be on a roll, and you seem to be taking new territory after a long phase of hesitation. You may feel that the issue involves your success feeling like a threat to someone close to you, but I don’t think this is true. What you’re seeing is likely to be a natural result of your putting out a lot of energy; that usually means change and change tends to give people a feeling of instability. Listen to what anyone close to you has to say and offer what support you can, but please focus on your mission. You’re in a rare moment when you can expand your horizons in a way that takes you past a tipping point that you’ve worked a very long time to reach.

I began reading your page, wow, ages ago. I can’t honestly remember when. I think it was because you had filled in on Jonathan Cainer’s site and I liked your style and checked you out.
I imagine the bigger question is why I keep coming back. I just read your thank you message, and I think the description of this effort being a warm place on the internet is true. I wrote to you a long time ago because I was amazed how on point your horoscopes were for me. I don’t mean in the predictive sense really, because to be honest I don’t use horoscopes as some kind of answer to problems in my life. I actually find if I am feeling that vulnerable and needing answers that desperately for my life, then the last place I should be looking is to a horoscope — and I can’t imagine that your aim is to somehow fix my life anyway. I think that’s why I come to your site, because it helps me keep open. I often find it a very reinforcing space.
I recently printed my Pisces horoscope for March, pasted it to my wall, and meditated to it in the evenings. For me, I find your work helps me to ground myself when I am being pulled in lots of directions. In part because there is a focus to your horoscopes, they build upon each other and thus allow me to reflect on what you’ve proposed. What always surprises me is how well these focused questions or ideas align with my life — I know that is kinda the purpose of horoscopes but it is still a little eerie when it seems like a broadcasted monthly horoscope responds so well to exactly what’s going on for me. I am presuming that’s why this is your gift.
Oh and a shout out to Chelsea who seriously rocks the casbah, man. She is always super helpful and just stellar to deal with.
Take care,
A. from Halifax
