Chiron in Pisces: 12 signs of Audio by Eric Francis

Published by under Daily Astrology Blog

Dear Planet Waves Reader:

My Australian colleague Yasmin Boland called me up last week and suggested that I do a set of audio recordings for Chiron in Pisces. She knows I’ve been writing about Chiron for 15 years and that good information is difficult to come by. After writing several other articles about this transit, including the May monthly horoscope, I dove into the audio — and it’s now ready.

Eric Francis

Chiron in Pisces promises to be an extremely interesting transit — and for those of us who are attuned to the feminine side of life, to nature, to our emotional world, to spirituality and to the planet as a whole entity, this is transit is welcome news. We now get about three months of Chiron in Pisces before it retrogrades back into Aquarius on July 20. It will then return to Pisces to stay for eight years in February 2011. This is our test run; our first experiment; our opportunity to explore this energy and find out what role it’s going to have in our lives.

This audio set is an awesome, economically priced product that gives you a wholesome introduction to both Chiron and Chiron in Pisces (about 20 minutes) and then takes on the 12 signs in individual recordings of about six to eight minutes in length. I go through the implications and my theory of Chiron in Pisces through each of the 12 solar houses. I suggest you listen to your Sun, your rising sign and your Moon sign — though there is good information for everyone, in each of the recordings.

We’ve priced this to be affordable — $14.99 for all 12 signs and the intro, which you can listen to as many times as you want. It’s like a mini-audio book on Chiron in Pisces. Remember, this is the beginning of the conversation, a kind of welcome wagon — this will be an exciting, long-term transit that will change the world in subtle, beautiful ways.

Please use this link to order. Delivery is instant. And please let me know how you like it.

Thanks for checking it out.

Yours & truly,
Eric Francis

Pisces, Chiron and Whole-System Thinking

Dear Planet Waves Subscriber:

To celebrate Earth Day, I took Thursday morning off and went to the Grandmother Land, a place I’m friendly with that’s tucked away in the mountains of central Ulster County. My day-to-day work has me looking into glowing rectangles much of the time, they are hypnotic and I’m aware that part of my soul lives on the Internet. Grounding into the Earth discharges that energy and gradually brings me to my senses. Usually I hang out on top of the waterfall; this time I went to the lower part of the falls, got as close to the water as I could, and lay down on the cool rock. The Sun tucked in and out between the clouds.

Moss and other plants inhabit a rock crevice to the east side of the waterfall on the Grandmother Land in High Falls, New York. (This waterfall is not the one that got the town its name. That one is somewhere else.) Photo by Eric Francis.

One of the things I value about this spot is that it’s like a clock that moves only with the seasons. From year to year, the landscape is beautifully consistent; there’s nothing industrial around, it has no business purpose and at this time in history there are few visitors. In this place I can feel back to the end of the last ice age, a sensation which slows down the experience of time passing. The approximately 6,500 days since I arrived there for the first time are like a minute or two passing if you put things in the context of geological time.

I find this reassuring. Even astrology is not suited to handle such large passages of time, or at least Western astrology isn’t (Mayan astrology is much better suited for super-long timespans). Yet we do get the chance to witness changes, especially if we remember the holographic quality of astrology: the whole is contained in the parts. Movements in small cycles can signify movements in much larger ones. If you’re familiar with the concept of a fractal, consider that astrology is the original application of that concept. A fractal is like a sample of time that tells the whole story.

Chiron made an impressive show ingressing Pisces this week. Now that Chiron is moving slowly through the signs and living as an outer planet — at this point, it’s moving through the signs slower than Uranus — these sign changes are more significant. Each one comes with a revelation. I’m counting the immediate zone of the ingress as going back to the Aries New Moon last week, which coincided within a few hours with a chunk of an asteroid lighting up skies over the American Midwest. And as it happened, that was the day that Eyjafjallajokull went off for the second time in 2010. (By the way — I am equally impressed by these two events, though the meteor hardly got the attention it deserved. If you’re wondering what this might be about astrologically, think of it as a very, very precise conjunction.)

Planet Waves
Weekly Horoscope for Friday, April 23, 2010, #813 – BY ERIC FRANCIS

Taurus (April 19- May 20)
Have you considered that your lack of confidence is not authentic? I’m not saying you’re faking, rather that you have more reasons to be confident than you give yourself credit for, and more than enough experience to remind you what you’re capable of. So why exactly would you doubt yourself? If this points to something from the past, you’re about to get significant insight into its origins. Meanwhile, I have an idea for an art therapy project that might give you a visual image; your solar chart at the moment says seeing is believing. Using a webcam or a digital camera, photograph yourself when you’re feeling insecure. Who do you look like? Then photograph yourself when you’re feeling solid, strong and determined. Who do you look like then? As for a journaling project: going back as far as you can remember, what is your association between marriage and money?

Astrology Today: The Oracle for Friday, April 23, 2010

Published by under Daily Astrology Blog

Today’s Oracle takes us back to the Scorpio weekly of June 6, 2008

The Oracle.

No matter how odd or contentious someone’s views may seem, you can enter into a productive dialog with them. Productive would translate to highly beneficial for you, as you let go of one agenda and embrace a new and unfamiliar one. This is the time you need as much support as you can get, and it’s coming on strong. It just may not be in the language you expect. Therefore, treat everyone like a potential supporter, even if they are a critic. Assume that everyone has a gift for you, even if it looks like they are pointing out a problem. The events of the next week are a portent of things to come, so choose wisely and approach the world with an open mind. At least one decision you make in the coming weeks will carry you through at least this time in 2012 — so proceed with full attention, and above all, refuse to rush.

This Time Is Ours, Ours Is This Time

Published by under Daily Astrology Blog

By Len Wallick

This particular Mercury retrograde seems to be taking shape nicely. There is the usual stuff. E-mails seem to be having a problem getting through with dispatch, if at all. Voice mail is answering the phone more often than not. Communication seems to take that extra effort and those additional clarifying words required.

This time however, there is that noticeable edge to it. Do you notice? Frustration finds less equanimity and considerably more anger. Judgment has become a comfort zone. Above all, impatience has become pandemic. It as though many of us are channeling a small mammal under the influence of a controlled stimulant. What’s up with that? Check it out. This particular retrograde, Mercury is not alone. Mars is in the house. It goes deep.

Fascinating how a collision can sneak up on you. Dig it, Mercury, retrograde in Taurus is applying to square Mars, direct in Leo. They are each moving at about the same speed in opposite directions and will exact the aspect this coming Sunday. Let’s break it down.

An astrological chart is a circle, or rather two concentric circles. Planets are distributed on the chart according to where they are from our perspective here on Earth. Between any two planets there is a geometric relationship, the number of degrees you need to go around the circle(s) to get from one to another. That relationship is called an aspect. Since everything is moving on the circle(s) the aspects are always approaching (otherwise known as applying) or moving away (separating) from what is often but not always a brief moment of numeric exactitude. The applying part is usually considered to be a form of building to a climax. The separation is usually considered an unwinding. Continue Reading »

Astrology Today: The Oracle for Thursday, April 22, 2010

Published by under Daily Astrology Blog

Today’s Oracle takes us back to the Taurus monthly of July 1, 2005

The Oracle.

There have been a number of occasions in recent months on which achievement and accomplishment have called your name personally but where you were not willing to make the sacrifices for success. In a little while the things you thought you had to give up will no longer feel like losses. Perhaps they involved your living space or geographic location. Perhaps they involved commitment to your family. Perhaps they involved some personal insecurity or emotional crisis. The events of this month will remove your reasons for fear and insecurity presenting you with the dilemma of freedom. That is if you discover you can do anything you want what exactly would you do? You may want to stand back and observe yourself or you may want to make decisions without considering the consequences. At this point even doing nothing represents concrete action so you might as well do what you please.

Horoscopes: Should I read my rising sign?

Published by under Daily Astrology Blog

Planet Waves MailBag

Dear Eric:

I want to ask you about reading the horoscope for one’s rising sign. My rising sign is Aries and I have started reading some of the Aries horoscopes recently and they feel pretty right on.

Sometimes even more immediately right on than the Cancer horoscope. My technical understanding of astrology is only very basic, so I’m curious what you might have to say about this, how you would frame the reading of the rising sign scope.

I write this especially because I am feeeeeeeling all this Aries action of late — it is exciting. And I’m thinking of ordering your Aries audio too. Thanks Eric.

– SAM

.
Dear Sam,

Nice to hear from you.

When I write I do so consciously for the Sun sign and the ascendant (rising sign). Part of how this works is that my interpretations are strongly focused on the houses. When horoscope astrologers use the Sun sign, the assumption is that the Sun’s sign is the hypothetical ascendant; that is, the 1st solar house. When I say that my astrology is focused on the houses, I mean that this is basically where I begin my interpretation: something interesting is happening in every chart, but relative to your sign, where is it happening?

This is going to match up with your rising sign, if you know it. We are all pretty sensitive to the houses, and I make it a point to use this fact in my interpretations. Therefore…your rising sign is your ‘other sign’ and I am indeed designing the birthday audio (and the annual editions) to be for Sun and ascendant. Note that not all astrologers work this way. Jonathan, for example, has said that he writes only for the Sun sign and that’s the sign to read. I stretch things and would even go so far as to say if you’re Aries rising, read Capricorn for career clues, and so on.

Thanks for writing in.

–ef

PS if you’re feeeeeeeelng Aries now, just you wait to see what June has in store. Hoooeeeee!

From the Madame Arcati interview

Published by under Daily Astrology Blog

M.A. — Don’t you think Sun sign astrology (the horoscopes in papers and magazines) gives stargazers a bad name? It’s just showbiz, right?

E.F. — If it was just showbiz, it would be easier, and it would require little in the way of ethics, or study, or talent. Part of the problem is editors, who strain to tell good astrology writing from bad, or who want horoscope writers to play down to their audience and give fashion advice. The very best newspaper astrologers also happen to be the best trained: rigorously, and gifted with a certain something extra which cannot be acquired. Writing horoscopes requires precision of both language and interpretation. Intuition counts for a lot, and vitally, so does imagination. Then you need to write as fast and prolifically as a political correspondent at the peak of a campaign, always keeping the sense of personal contact. Heck it’s so easy, anybody can do it.

With fanfare, Chiron in Pisces

Published by under Daily Astrology Blog

First, here is your Wednesday audio report — a brief overview of aspects up to the April 28th Full Moon. Note that in the start of the audio I overstate when Chiron was last in Pisces — not for the entire Sixties but rather through early 1969. And please don’t miss the Madame Arcati interview with Eric Fwaaancis below.

Chiron ingressed Pisces yesterday morning and it has surely made a show of things. I am going to count back to the recent Aries New Moon as marking the immediate vicinity of the ingress — that was last week, with Chiron on the edge, in transition out of Aquarius. We experienced a volcanic eruption at Eyjafjallajökull in Iceland, Goldman Sachs is being sued by the feds for baby fraud, and then air traffic throughout northern Europe got scrambled by the volcanic dust cloud. For nearly a week, airports across Europe were closed and the skies were silent: an astonishing event here in the modern world, and due to a natural phenomenon.

Note that there were four trigger-type events in a small zone — a New Moon (conjunct an outer planet that I love, 1992 QB1), a chunk of an asteroid coming into the atmosphere over the American Midwest, Mercury stationing retrograde a few days later, and then Chiron walking into Pisces. When you get a confluence of events like that, it’s fair to wonder what’s really behind things, and one answer of course is that everything is working together. If you’ve been studying or even following astrology longer than two weeks, you see that the events tend to cluster up and catapult everything forward at once in a lovely swirl of chaos.

Then you can look within the cluster for the events involving slow-moving points and attribute some extra history-making power to them. Chiron changing signs would count. Chiron itself is the planet most associated with whole-systems thinking. So, too, is the imaginary Aquarius-Pisces line. You can look at both the Goldman Sachs scandal or a little volcano taking global air travel out of whack as examples of whole-system events. A relatively small thing is revealed as being part of something much larger.

Let’s see what happens with the Wall Street robber barons. They are small potatoes compared to the planet itself — and we have seen how little it takes to really make a difference under the canopy of our little atmosphere, here on our small world.

All hail Chiron in Pisces!
