Wake up and smell…the money

I’m on a layover at Scarlett O’Hara International Airport, long enough to raise a family. The Boingo god smiled at me and I seem to have already paid to use the Internet here. My flights yesterday were canceled due to weather in Chicago, which gave me more time to think about pig flu, in the company of a well-connected doctor who walked me through the medical and political issues that public health officials are facing. There is no easy answer here; but it would seem more difficult to justify under-reacting than overreacting.

er that a few other people have been thinking about it too. I learned, for example, there was a conference in Mexico two weeks ago, and Barack was there, talkin’ drugs and walls and immigration and NAFTA and such, and he shook hands with a guy who spontaneously died, ostensibly of the Tortilla Flu, 24 hours (wait, CNN is reporting that it was one week) later. Here is an article from the Daily Mail, for which I used to write horoscopes (Cainer still writes them, and I can only vouch for their accuracy and for no other part of the newspaper). I think that having Obama at the epicenter just before disaster strikes is, well, interesting.

Cam, who plays shortstop for Planet Waves and who is visiting from Australia, dropped in with this odd fact: a company called Baxter is doing quite well in the midst of this chaos, despite its recent grotesque misdeeds surrounding bird flu. And here is some video that he dug up that will send chills down your spine. It’s as mainstream as it gets — MSNBC.

My mother wrote to me and said she sees “conspiracy under every rock.” My mother; there you have it. What does your mother think?

Tracy, the Astrology Programming Dutchess of Wales, dropped in with one of her perfect Pisces logic comments that summed the whole thing up, when I asked her what she thought: “Most of the cases seem to be mild. America conjunct Hylonome [in the public health emergency chart, suggesting ‘self inflicted situation for the United States and/or the Americas’]. I’ve decided what I think. I think the outbreak in Mexico has been reacted to in this way because it happened under this astrology, not the other way round if you see what I mean. Anything that happens now can get blown out of proportion.”

I see what JUST she means. Fish eye view — chicken? egg? egg carton? Benedict? which came first? I think she’s getting at: we are seeing the astrology of a reaction and not an epidemic. The whole Moon void of course, square Neptune, Chiron and Jupiter, feels like a Jaguar with the clutch down going into a spin. Oh, we also discovered that Hidalgo (all things Mexico) is square the triple conjunction. This is the astrology joking around with us. Cheers to Padre Hidalgo, I love that old troublemaker. Here are Tracy’s asteroids.

Next, Melanie just appeared in my inbox, incredulous as usual. She is questioning how the Moon can be void of course with all these asteroids running around. The answer is that Moon void is an old rule so you use old planets. Astrology is diviniation and you need a framework to operate within and we set this little rule that says that if the Moon is done making aspects to major planets (and I do count the modern outer planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, as well as Chiron, though I will look at the chart both ways — with and without the modern outer planets, as a checkstop), then it’s drifting; it’s ‘void of course’. You have to FEEL the Moon to feel the void. It’s not just an intellectual construction though it clearly is that, among other things.

There are usually minor planets in the vicinity of a void Moon, but like a foul ball in baseball, they don’t quite count — but sometimes they are interesting. Here is a 30 degree sort of that chart so you can get a look at how that works…skip downto the Moon (search ‘moon’ in your browser once you’re on that page and you will see all the minor planets that are in range of the Moon). Don’t let it make your head spin; after a while it’s like eating cupcakes. I am not there yet. It looks like the Moon’s next aspect is a sextile to the asteroid Photographica — a cool asteroid. I am noticing how few photos there are of this situation. I keep seeing the same picture of the Mexican couple making out with blue masks on.

Has anybody mentioned that the masks don’t protect the wearer — the mask over your face protects everyone else, in case you’re infected; it’s the sneeze guard over the salad bar.

Speaking of masks. Mandy in the UK, who is some kind of pedigree detective and the wife of a doctor for the public health service, said in reply to my query about what she wanted to add:

“I’ll tell the world about the UK emergency pack delivered to all family practitioners consists of a white envelope which contained two surgical masks, two pairs of latex gloves and two white plastic aprons….plus a copy of a clinical protocol flow chart…”

Yes! Everything you need to stop an epidemic. Or play doctor…

  1. What My Mother Thinks . . . She thinks she is very tired. She thinks that 90 year old people have a hard time breathing. She’s all about her transition and working her process, harder than I am working mine. Imagine that my mother actually had a process going on all this time.

Anyway, she programmed me that all things are possible. And that I could do anything I put my mind to (always a catch). But for her, she called em like she saw em. I hear the words, “that’s bullshit.” And that was that. Decisive. The woman has no natal planets in earth signs. I don’t know if there’s something in that or not.

  2. Looking at the Smithfield article… omG! The swine farms are located in Xalapa! Xalapa! This merits a closer look! When I lived Cuernavaca in the 80s, X was an epicenter for cultural renaissance, one of the few safe communities for GLBT, and physically gorgeous. It is said to have been the birthplace of the most beautiful woman in the world, hence the name Xalapa (place of flowers) refers to both her birth and her uh, pulcritude.

To have this place turned into Pig-Hell, Inc. is quite the interesting development.

Well, who knows how this will play out. I personally adore the piggys, which are sacred to the female buddha I work with; an interesting bit of comeuppance? How long have we sickened them with huMan-flu?

As for the fear, well just think of humanity as a big ol’ pan(i)cake. Gotta let one side get nice and toasty and all of the bubbles pop open just before you flip it.

    Is it flippin’ time?

  3. Another interesting aspect – check out this article from Wired, http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2009/04/swinefluchatter/,
how folks mkae abusiness out of, “monitoring and analyzing the flow of social media traffic “, “picking up the early indicators of social disruption, whether it shows up on blogs or Twitter”.

Fe – yes – thanks for pointing out the factory farm connection. Another reason to eat locally and/or organically, and eschew (pardon the pun) industrial style trayf!

Nance – very good point about levels of healing collective awareness. If we can tune in to the healing forces, at large in the cosmos, and not buy in to the media induced fear. Glad I read the news that fits!

  4. It’s interesting… I’ve been doing naturopathic self-care for about 6 years now, using both homeopathic remedies and nutraceuticals. I’ve experienced healing crises, and noticed a healing pattern. This pattern involves healing a particular issue, and as the healing progresses, that issue is diminished, relieved and sometimes completely resolved, and the next issue flares up. So I progress deeper and deeper into healing and cleansing patterns that truly heal my body, mind, emotions, and spirit.

Perhaps this pattern is happening in the world as well… as we the collective gain awareness about a particular issue, it is flared up, and available for us to collectively heal it. Even if we don’t completely heal, there is new awareness that opens it up for healing on some level. The swine flu issue has a number of potential awareness/healing opportunities associated with it (corporate responsibility, emotional peace as a path to physical well-being, the health of the earth and it’s impact on our immune systems, etc.)

  5. Frontline report from Nuevo Mexico aka State of New Mexico… from a healing office: I got several calls today from parents and/or folks who had been in Mexico in the past few weeks and were now sick. I called the labs and found out this (excuse me if this information is in another article): to have Swine Flu, first you must be tested for a respiratory panel – nasal swabs folks – not fun!!! Second, if you test positive for Type A Influenza, then the samples get shipped onwards to the CDC where they evaluate to see IF it’s indeed the variant of Swine Flu (flu changes every year). Local results can be turned around in 24 hrs, but it takes days to hear from CDC. So it’s a perfect storm of getting folks riled up to sit and wait to hear anything.

Two kids from Mexico City who were sick tested negative for Type A. So, while there is something that folks are getting, had 2 other sick people today, its not clear exactly what that something is right now.

This is all empirical experience from today, 4/27/09.

While I pay my rent at the moment by working for two MDs who are open to alt therapies, imho, based on my own life experiences, there is nothing better for the human body than to be at a state of peace, and I mean in every single cell – this strengthens the immune system more than any prescribed drug. But, that’s just me.

  6. Here is an interesting tracking device:
    http://gizmodo.com/5229314/follow-the-swine-flu-in-real-time-with-google-maps

In 1988, I worked for 2 months for a consulting firm “researching” a nasty chemical pesticide used on golf courses and citrus groves in Florida. The pesticide was made by, you guessed it, Bayer Corporation. We were required to observe a spray event, and this chemical was lethal to birds. By lethal, I mean that within 30 minutes after a spray on a golf course, I witnessed over a dozen birds go from flying, to sitting on the ground breathing hard, to belly up legs in the air. Not just little birds, but large crows, egrets, herons…

This was my early introduction to the consulting world, where I also learned that “researchers” who are being selected by and paid by large corporations will paint an undeserving favorable picture of a sick reality in order to maintain a customer/paycheck. It was a great lesson for me, since it gave me the tools to sniff out scientific integrity in the consulting world and avoid firms that tried to intimidate me into lying for them.

There is clearly a lack of corporate integrity in the world right now, and the information you present reeks of it.
