Note to subscribers – in the edition that went out Friday morning, the link to the Declaration of Independence went bad overnight. Here is another link to the text of the document. Sorry for the inconvenience. Also, longtime reader Stacey Clark has sent this link about the Declaration of Independence.
Speaking of independence, one last afterthought is on the agenda. The article by Dani Katz (referenced in Astrology News a few weeks ago) about men in LA supposedly not being interested in women has been posted in the LA Weekly. I’m quoted in the piece somewhere…”The revolution is not going to be polyamory,” predicted Francis. “It’s going to be redefining monogamy, wherein we give our partners more freedom…the freedom not to lie.” In addition to living through it, Dani worked for many months on this article; we got to know one another along the way. I think you’ll find it interesting, and a story well told. I’ve neen reading the comments on this article, which are providing a lot of food for thought and future material. –efc
Dear Friend and Netizen,
It is Thursday night and I have decided to go mainstream and declare a weekend off the Internet. Friday’s Planet Waves Astrology News, covering the United States chart, is ready to go and will be shipped to our subscribers’ inboxes by Clare Miller in New Paltz. Since I am rolling credits, the edition was put together by Rachel Asher in Dublin and the web work was handled by Anatoly Ryzhenko in the Ukraine.

Astrology News now includes a new feature called This Week in 2011, which predicts outrageous events that might take place three years from now. See what you’ve been missing and sign up today.
I have recorded a podcast that includes the discussion of the July 4, 1776 Sagittarius rising chart (called the Sibley chart). It also includes discussion of the Republican and Democratic conventions this summer. Note, there is a somewhat ominous tone to some parts of this; I trust us all with the information. Remember that the universe is a thing in creation from moment to moment, which implies strongly that any and all of our thoughts count toward the whole. The charts for the conventions both have serious problems, however, and I feel we do need to respond, at the very least with full awareness.
Regarding that podcast, here are some clarifications. The Articles of Confederation were indeed signed in 1777. Therefore that is the year of the Scorpionic America chart. (That is the other main birth chart of the United States.) Speaking of the other other one, the Sibley chart was not named after Sibley, and it was created by a guy named John Early. I have no clue how it got the name Sibley, but I’m eager to learn.
Regarding the wording of the declaration, I underquoted one pertinent part — the men who signed the Declaration of Independence pledge to one another their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor.
Finally, I missed a point regarding the astrology of the Democratic National Convention: either the Moon is in the same degree as it was for 9/11 and the tsunami (28+ Gemini) or it is opposite Pluto at 29+ Gemini; to put it politely, void of course, which might not be so bad actually since it tends to nullify things and this would be a good chart to nullify. I suggest that the Dems would be wise to start their convention at about 8:20 pm on Aug. 25 (the scheduled night), so that the Moon is in Cancer. Please forgive me for making astrology sound too important, but if they used astrology to time their convention, they would probably win. I imagine that guiding a political convention with the ephemeris would probably go over like a hornet’s nest in a wedding cake; though I guess you never know. Is somebody out there friends with Howard Dean?
Anyway — the above were all comments on the podcast. Today’s Astrology News lead story, The Country of our Dreams, is on the same basic topic, though only going [somewhat more] deeply into the Sibley chart and its nature.
In other news, there is a new Planet Waves horoscope called the Eriscope. It’s a kind of alt-sex and relationship horoscope which will be carried by a few different websites, including our own. Here is a link to the July edition.
If you’re looking for daily aspects through the weekend, click here. This is a link from the source website, Serennu.com, that provides this incredible and unique-in-all-the-world service.
I think that should keep you busy for a few days. If you’re new to the site and want an interesting trip, pull down the “archives” tab above and check out some of those pages.
Cover photos will continue to update. Our photo editor, Danielle Voirin, is currently ono a special personal mission in Italy and will hopefully have some stunning images from there. I can’t get into what she is up to, but if you love Dani’s work, please beam her love, light and good vibes for this once in a lifetime discovery she has bravely set out to make.
I will be back Monday morning with a new edition. Till then, this is Eric Francis for Planet Waves.
Oracle takes us to June 13, 2003, Scorpio – Weekly
Slowly the climate of the world around you seems to be adapting to who you are. This is not an illusion. You have a distinct style and often business colleagues, your spiritual community and even your closest friends seem to have very different ways of interpreting experience. It’s as if you’re always the non-conformist among the non-conformists. But their feelings and experience is starting to catch up with yours, and to a real degree your private world and the larger world seem to be merging into one reality. This gives you freedom, and yet it subtracts a degree of resistance and friction which you often use to define your reality. True, the cost of a more peaceful world is a world with less conflict.
