Tuesday the Sun was square Uranus — exact at 12:23 pm EDT (14:23 UTC). This is the “don’t be afraid of change” aspect and, while you’re at it, dive into the changes you know you want to make. The Sun and Uranus often team up in the charts of great inventors, innovators and revolutionaries. If you’re into art, think of Mark Chagall. If you’re into history, Thomas Jefferson. As an entertainer, it’s Sammy Davis Jr. As rock guitar, it’s David Gilmour. Writing, Germaine Greer or Stephen King. As a songwriter, it’s Carole King. What all of these people have in common is that they were not afraid to take the risk of being who they are. That one factor is often the threshold to a meaningful life, or to some authentic achievement. Sometimes it takes a push from the outside. Tabitha King retrieved the manuscript for Carrie from the wastepaper basket and pushed her husband to submit it to publishers. Yay Tabitha and all hail Sun square Uranus.

and, just to add a name to the list of highly individuated risk-takers in the public — Sarah Silverman. She is out there, all on her own, with her very controversial material and I applaud her. So twisted, so un-PC it’s scary-hilarious that act of hers. Great modeling for me, thank you, Eric.

Request for a leave of absence was submitted and approved today, one week after an opportunity came my way that I couldn’t turn down. Uranus aspects just about everything in my chart, and transiting is currently sextile my sun and quincunx my moon. Risk taking has never felt so exciting (albeit exhausting), especially while also working with tr. Saturn to ground it. Here’s to Uranian flashes, especially when they don’t break anything!
Glad you mentioned Germaine Greer; she’s a favorite. Well they all are, but I’ve not read her for awhile, glad to have her back on my radar. Uranus and I (like Pluto and I) go way back..sitting on the AC in Leo (ruled by the Sun) he’s got a lot to say in my natal chart especially as he just spent a lot of time on Moon/Eris. Progressed? He’s heading for n. Mer/Sun/Moon stellium…I’d say 10 degrees to go….I’ve got time to prepare — oh wait! It’s Uranus. Prepare for continuing change, perhaps 🙂 Thx, Eric,
