Direct, Retrograde and the Sun ingresses Leo Tuesday

The Sun will remain void of course until it ingresses Leo at 5:41 pm (21:41 UTC). These can be odd-feeling times, though you can consider anything that happens to have some unusual meaning or purpose. This may not be glaring out; it’s more likely to be subtle or even sublime. Remember the factor of the opening with the Sun void, through which it would be better to drift with as little assertion of energy as possible, but consciously choosing what you want to experience when you have the option. Breathe into the experience and recognize what is right for you. Meanwhile, Saturn stationed direct Sunday and Uranus stations retrograde about an hour from when I am writing Monday night. Uranus is now heading into its sixth square with Pluto, which is exact Dec. 15.

Saturn is now in direct motion, heading for Sagittarius, where it will arrive Dec. 23. It won’t station retrograde again until March 14, one day before the last Uranus-Pluto square. Both of these stations point us toward Uranus-Pluto square events, and remind us of the times in which we are living. These intense meetings of Uranus and Pluto (seven in total since 2012, with two left) represent a threshold into another era and a quickening of energy. Trust that you are learning skills now that will help you and the people you know as you venture into that new territory early next year.

Someone wrote to me today and said they were concerned that they might be missing whatever this aspect represents. If you are, I suggest you devote yourself to learning and observation. By that I mean highly conscious learning, and learning how to pay attention in a certain way that is appropriate for things that only happen once. I know we are inclined to live as if one day is like another, and as if one era is like another, but it’s nothing of the kind — though it takes some skill as an observer to see that. Yet one of the things we deeply need to do is get beyond the habit of just watching. I suggest you watch for a purpose: how to respond, what you feel called to do, what inspires you, what calls you to action, what summons you to bear witness in a deep way.

For Planet Waves subscribers, I’ll see you in your inbox with the Tuesday letter some time after 10 am.

  1. I feel a warm energy now that we’ve “crossed over” into Leo. It feels like summer is finally here. Also interesting to me is the current conjunction of Sun/Jupiter with the midpoint of the transiting Uranus/Saturn inconjunct at 1Leo. The next few days and the new moon will be very interesting indeed!
Thanks, Eric, for all you do. PW is my daily habit.

  2. Today is 10 Flintknife, or the Smoky Mirror, a great day to reflect and to allow for psychic surgery, the transmutation of old negative energies into deeper understanding of our human psyche.

  3. Hi Eric,
Always read your column, find it one of the best on the internet.
In an article by Anne Ortelee I read, that 6 of the 7 squares between Uranus and Pluto these two planets will be taking turns in being retrograde and then the last of the 7 squares both planets will be in direct mode.
What are your views on this ???
Are Pluto and Uranus learning to work together so that next year March they will finally work together ??? And what will happen then ????!!

  4. I’d not thought much about the sun going void-of-course – very much how this day felt, though, with a mysterious (but in the end easily solved) mechanical issue with my vehicle, the usually chatty group at coffee time sitting mostly in silence, & a feeling of so little energy moving that the air felt heavy. All quite odd. I opted to just not push – myself or my plans.

One day is not apt to be like the one before, though I guess I understand the appeal sometimes & for some people of that predictability. If my days start running together in that kind of felt same-ness, I know I need to change things (usually me)! As for eras, wow, the present era is a bit unnerving even to those of us who lived through the 60’s, & possibly moreso if we have never sold out or otherwise abandoned a certain idealism from that time. I feel that a lot of us never let go of our vision of the kind of world this COULD be, & it often feels like we’re collectively reeling in the opposite direction. Fast.

I find I’m needing to focus my vision in more specific areas where I believe I can contribute,
& I guess that’s my particular “what inspires you, what calls you to action, what summons you to bear witness in a deep way.”

Thank-you for articulating that challenge for us, Eric. I hope that as we approach the Jupiter new moon (conjunct my Mars), I’ll have a clearer sense of, okay – ready to roll – what next?
