Planet Waves Daily Oracle for Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Taurus weekly for Jan. 20, 2012

Astrology Blog: The Oracle, Weekly Horoscopes, Monthly Horoscopes.

One of the most deeply ingrained patterns involves sex and — more significantly — how we think about sex. Mars making its retrograde in the angle of your chart associated with pleasure and experimentation is also involved in the Virgo dimension. If you’re looking for why, so often, you have to think about whether you’re going to think about something, rather than just trying it as an experiment — look no further. There’s something for you in Mars retrograde about being comfortable with taking risks, and most of those risks involve how you think of yourself as a sexual being. Many people spend their lives seemingly trying to impress others with their purity, which is another way of saying with their hangups. There’s an old expression: free your ass and your mind will follow. Or is it really free your mind and your ass will follow? Actually, you can do both at once.

This is an ancient horoscope and by some miracle it is still relevant today. Experience the astrology as it happens, written by me weekly and twice monthly, plus your Moonshine horoscope by Len Wallick and Elizabeth Michaud. Here is how to sign up — and what you get.

  1. Thank you Kate, and all of you again! I had a talk with a friend who was surprisingly candid with me and reassured me that these things are normal. He made me relaxed about my concerns re the heat and pointed me toward my meditation and breathing.

This was a somewhat heavy week and I’ve taken things gently. As I was asking all these questions, last night as Saturn hit my exact Sun, I had perhaps one of the most revealing and powerful dreams in recent history. Basically it depicted me attempting a very brutal murder of my father by cutting off his genitals – which ended unsuccessfully and in me getting caught. Then my mother later helping me to cover things up which only amplified our argumentative relationship where I recalled many uncomfortable memories. This then moved into the present where I was excavating my basement with my girlfriend due to chronic leaking and foundation issues. A grave was discovered along with many other things that I had to explain for which were hidden all this time. I woke up feeling oddly refreshed and well rested. Sexual energy is so powerful, holy shit! Blows my mind sometimes.

Thank you for letting me share all this, it wasn’t easy. Lots of love!

  2. HS – you are able to be silent and listen to your body – the answers surely lie within, so what is it trying to tell you?

  3. Thanks everyone so so much, your feedback is really appreciated!

I have my physical check up annually and everything is great. No thyroid concerns came up in my blood tests. Here’s a little more info. I totally love the increased heat and blood flow as part of the sexual involvement, but where I experience the discomfort is perhaps linked to me doing a lot of the work. So, I’ve expressed this to my partner and she’s been good in trying different positions, allowing me to take breaks while she takes over, etc. I’ve also have been watching my breathing so that its more regular and not shallow. I don’t think I’m dehydrated although I’ll monitor that. I also get some heart palpitations that are very strong right around the time of orgasm, which I’m guessing is normal although I’ve never experienced this masturbating (prob because there is significantly less physical effort required). But sometimes the body heat really causes me to feel tired. I’m a serious road cyclist so I’m not out of shape. I also feel like it takes a long time to reach my orgasm. This can be linked to many things like position comfort, speed, breathing, experience – all of which I’m not totally worried about as I’m getting more comfortable with time.

Then there is the energy thing. This is the second or third time that I’ve had sex around midnight that didn’t seem to agree with me. I would need a cold shower and about 20 min to bring my body down to a state that would be ready for sleep. But sometimes I’m still too charged up. A few nights ago, I kept waking up with my head spinning and my stomach unsettled. It wasn’t a blood sugar thing either.

So, am I on the right track?

(From an astro angle, Chiron trine my Sun and Saturn conjunct my Sun may be giving me exactly the experiences I need despite having these types of discomfort. But I need to hear from people who can help guide me along with this!!)

  4. Hi HS, I’m with Tracy, first thing I thought of when I read your post was – get your thyroid checked out. Hope it’s nothing, other than a touch of overexcitement!

  5. Hi Hugging – I just felt I ought to make the boring point that nausea and dizziness after physical exertion should probably be checked out by a doctor to rule out any physical cause. The reason I say this is I recently dealt with similar symptoms, so they’re kind of on my mind. Mine turned out to be due to an overactive thyroid, which I’d never have thought of in a million years – I barely knew I had a thyroid 🙂 ~ Tracy x

  6. Historical post happens to be my aniversary.
    Champagne opens the back door.
Take your time and go slow.

  7. hugging scorpio — i’ve never noticed or heard about anything like that in myself or in my partners, but it’s a fascinating question. i hope someone else chimes in.

when you say “overheating,” are you describing something more intense than the sort of warmth, flushing and sweating once might incur with a moderate workout? for example, when i hear “overheating,” i think of something closer to heatstroke, or the kind of headache-inducing heating that happens if i try to run on a hot, humid day or try to take a bikram yoga class (neither of which i care for).

just taking a random shot, have you ever noticed a link between the overheating and a lower-than-usual intake of water, or with consumption of substances that might alter your body chemistry/function? just curious…

  8. If PW will allow me to ask a question here for anyone to share some thoughts. This question is for men and women reading.

I am wondering if men have some issues with overheating during sex, if they have a preferred time to have sex so as to “cool off” before actually sleeping, if having sex has ever caused nausea or dizziness that lingered more than usual, and how some or all of these experiences have been resolved. I am also very interested in the energy aspect related to this and how I can better nourish my physical and energetic responses to sex and to alleviate this discomfort.

I am a healthy individual (40yrs) and in very good physical shape, but I’m been experiencing this on and off. Any feedback would be valuable for me (and I hope others).

    Thank you so much!
