This chart moves the location to Stockholm, preserving the EST time zone. I have also changed house systems to Topocentric, to give a clearer image at the extreme northern latitude. Notice the double interception in the 6th/12th, which is common at an extreme latitude.

I have a soft spot in my heart for “intercepted houses” because that is how I first found Eric Francis and Planet Waves. I was studying a chart and googled it a nd the rest is history….
what I have been seeing in the few charts I have been studying is that intercepted houses show up much more prevalent in european, south american and even canadian charts….so I dont pay much attention to them anymore….
I had a russian colleague had like 5 intercepted houses (okay thats extreme) but thats when I figured — dont even look at it…. its all about the way the sun shines on differnet hemispheres at different angles during different seasons…..
OK…so my Libra is swimming inside a fishbowl called my 3rd house
and on the other side of town Aries is swimming inside 9th. Got it.
And then there are the 4 little peepholes in each of the fishbowls – each peephole only one degree large – on either side of each sign.
These peepholes have/had Saturn/Mars and Jupiter/Uranus squeeking back and forth overhead –
– are the transiting planets sort of taking their turns at sending energy to the fish in the bowls and energizing differently than a normal transit would? (simply because the energy in there is generally tougher to get at)
or are all transits “created equal” (in a broad sense) whether they are going over something like a fishbowl peephole or any other point on a chart?

Does anyone know how far LIGHT travels once it has left the Earth? Infra-Red I suppose that would be…….basically the same as how far light travels from the sun maybe?

Intercepted is a confusing word in the astrological context I think, because it doesn’t mean quite what it normally means (it seems to me).
An intercepted sign, is a sign which is completely enclosed inside a house, not touching either house cusp. There are only intercepted signs, not intercepted houses.

I’m being all dis-lexic-like with it – maybe because I have houses/signs next door to each other wherein – one house is “intercepted” by a sign but the sign next door is “intercepted” by the house…….if it continued on like that ’round the wheel I’d for sure be dizzy.*
So I’m alllllll confused , let alone the double-whammy idea (although I can see it visually in chart above, of course.)

does the “double” refer to both cusps being different signs (that is, different from the signs within the houses)?
or is “double” the presence of two signs in the middle of the house, not touching a cusp?
i’m needing a reeeeeeally back-to-basics, from square one explanation here; somehow i’ve never encountered these terms.

Yes, that’s an issue of the northern latitudes in this case. I cast the chart in Koch but it was starting to fall apart; that is one job of Topocentric houses, to work at the far extremes. The double interceptions are Aries/Toro in the 12th and Libra/Scorp in the 6th, fully encompassed; such that each of those houses has the influence of four signs! And together the 6th/12th axis — one house axis — involves 8 of the 12 signs!
The intercepted signs are all ruled by Venus and Mars. That is interesting, esp since Mars is about to conjoin Saturn and plunge through the cardinal T-square this weekend. That’s the nervous edge in the air, like we don’t know what’s going to happen next.
This Wikileaks thing seems to be a “developing story.” :-)))

So interesting, before the event, I was doing charts for the full moon exact in many currently topical places, looking for an ‘event’: nothing particular around Louisiana . . . nor
Reykjavik . . .(!) . . . then did Washington DC – about 9.36 pm on 25 July – and found the wierdest formation.
Two yods, pointing in opposite directions both with the same opposition as an ‘axis’, that being Neptune conjunct Chiron right on the Asc opposite Mercury right on the Descendent. The four ‘legs’ of the two yods (hope you can visualise this) were Sun and Moon, and Saturn conjunct Mars, and the Uranus Jupiter conjunction. Crikey.
So some kind of unveiling? A secret out, I thought . . . . I wondered what . . .
I recognise my approach to astrology is somewhat simplistic though.

I decided to simply glance at each of those three charts (bnecause I usually just get lost in the wheel) and just see what popped. That little diamond guy, did for all three. After looking him up — Pallas. Is that correct? After a wee bit of research… Titan god of warcraft. In the two leak chart he’s in Scorpio? And in the natal chart he’s in Capricorn?
That’s all she wrote. ‘Cause I’m still trying to wrap my head around the house/sign business. It’s just not coming together yet.
