What a weird afternoon…

Eric Francis

Dear Friend and Reader:

Has this been a weird afternoon? The sky is going off like popcorn. I am posting the chart 9if it’s not there, give us five minutes] for starting this little note. The Moon is conjunct jupiter. It’s also trine Saturn. It’s also square Venus and about to square Mars and Mercury. All of this happens now, as in all afternoon and all evening. I just thought this was a chart to share. If you see things or have questions about it, drop them into the comment section below.

The setup points to a series of emotional situations that may seem exaggerated of out of proportion. Today is definitely a turning point. But remember, you have a lot of influence over what kind of turn…

Also, tonight is the night that I do the Wednesday Q & A column. I usually take one or two questions. We have some, but often the most interesting ones come in at the last minute. Please keep them short, clearly written and to the point.

Yours & truly,

Eric Francis

  1. I wrote yesterday morning to a good friend ‘that something wa sin the air, something big and its going to change everything. I just wish it would happen and then we’dbe out on the other side and getting on with it.’

    That’s how I felt – don’tknow how the astrology fits…

  2. Dear Eric

My question , actually I sent you an email regarding the quick Canadian Election just announced with its own version of conservative clones is how will the upcoming mercury retrograde effect both elections… what should we look out for ?

  3. I’d say something, but I can’t seem to stay in by mody long enough to wowk the keybird.

Shazaam. Can somebody turn down the stars please? okay, then turn up the sky…

    There. That’s better…

  4. Thank you Eric, and today is my birthday. AND, Jupiter and Saturn and Mercury and Venus are eerily similar to their positions on my actual day of birth (throw Neptune into the mix if thinking natal positions). I am having a super wierd day, and my biggest problem, if in such a way I may characterize it, is that I’m staying with my uber-Capricorn brother-in-law. Is it possible for one of us to out earth-man the other? It’s absolutely the strangest, most exasperating game I’ve ever come to play. My sister the Taurus arrives later on tonight. But I’ve decided to go across the water instead to see my best man, the Scorpio. Wish me luck. I do wish I had your advice.

  5. Just a take on the massive conjunction trine 1st to 8th, being relayed through personal experiences. I had my first threesome ever this weekend, and the oppurtunity to play with both genders at the same time(massive personal breakthrough). It was as if the genders fused in my mind in equilibrium(merc.,mars,venus/libran 8th). At the same time I felt aware of personal/social healing toward a future more spiritually oriented(chiron,n.node,nep./aquarian/1st).
I felt no jealousy, just love and openess. It flowed way easy(trine).
The chart seems to me to be fusing/blurring a ton of lines(conjuncts), in order for a renegotiation of personal boundaries(or lack there of), through reflection with others, too enable a personal/socio/cosmic evolution, too where when these particular energies split this time around we’ll have a healthier mode of operation.
wow!!! Thanks for lettin’ me ramble! Craaaaazzy, intense, kickass chart!

  6. Eric:

I’ve been watching the polls go up and down. Some with 20+ for McCain, others showing neck and neck. Also, I’ve been watching AP to see what kind of tricks the Republicans have in media misinformation, since AP is in McCain’s pocket. Its ripe. They’re trying to show Obama on defense, his campaign struggling, even though his campaign has registered 11 million NEW VOTERS. Something is not right.

And then I found THIS gem at Talking Points Memo:

New McCain Ad Falsely Suggests Obama Wants Kids To Learn “About Sex Before Learning To Read”
    By Greg Sargent – September 9, 2008, 6:22PM
The McCain campaign is up with a new ad attacking Obama on education that makes some rather strong insinuations about sex:

There’s a lot to chew on here. But we want to focus on one particularly pernicious aspect of it.

The ad shows a dreamy-looking Obama as it says:
Obama’s one accomplishment? Legislation to teach “comprehensive sex education” to kindergartners. Learning about sex before learning to read?

In a final moment of subtly, the ad says Obama is “wrong for your family.”

According to the McCain campaign’s own email, the sex ed claim is based on Obama’s support for a bill, in the Illinois state legislature, that said:

“Each class or course in comprehensive sex education offered in any of grades K through 12 shall include instruction on the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, including the prevention, transmission and spread of HIV.”
As you can see, the McCain ad says that Obama was the one who pushed the “comprehensive sex education” measure. The Obama campaign has pointed out that the bill would simply add instruction on disease prevention to already existing Illinois sex-ed standards. But the McCain campaign cheerfully turned this into Obama’s support for “learning about sex before learning to read.”

And “civil” and “honorable” McCain approved that message.

Late Update: Obama spokesperson Bill Burton’s response directly questions McCain’s honor:

“It is shameful and downright perverse for the McCain campaign to use a bill that was written to protect young children from sexual predators as a recycled and discredited political attack against a father of two young girls – a position that his friend Mitt Romney also holds. Last week, John McCain told Time magazine he couldn’t define what honor was. Now we know why.”
