Oscar-nominated actress Ellen Page, who turns 27 years old this Friday, came out as a lesbian on Friday in grand style — during a speech at the “Time to THRIVE” conference in Las Vegas, an event hosted by the Human Rights Campaign. Her emotional and inspirational words roused a standing ovation from the crowd and sent ripples through the Internet.

“I’m inspired to be in this room because every single one of you is here for the same reason: you’re here because you’ve adopted, as a core motivation, the simple fact that this world would be a whole lot better if we just made an effort to be less horrible to one another,” Page said, speaking to an audience of LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning) youth.

This is the first time Page has ever spoken openly about her sexuality.

In case anyone is wondering what astrology inspired this move, you can look right to Chiron. Page is in the midst of two rare Chiron transits — a conjunction to her natal Mercury, and a square to her natal Chiron position. Chiron’s conjunction to Mercury represents an inspiration to open up, admit what she feels and to speak her truth.

Chiron’s square to natal Chiron is a key life passage where many people reach a point of no return, a place in their growth from which they cannot turn back. This transit is currently happening to everyone born around Page’s era of birth. [See noon chart, and ‘coming out’ chart, on this chart file. We will answer questions about the charts below.]

Page was born in Nova Scotia, Canada. We don’t know her exact birth time but we do know that her Sun is in Pisces, a soft, introspective sign, and that her Moon is in dauntless Sagittarius.

Her natal Mercury in Pisces was in retrograde motion at the time of her birth. Pisces is reflective and pensive sign, and Mercury retrograde signifies a sensitive, contemplative and private nature (no matter how public a person may seem on the outside). Pisces is not concerned with the mundane world — its main focus is unity; a spiritual sense of belonging and acceptance. It’s therefore not easy for her to express her personal feelings; this was a big step.

Chiron, the first centaur planet, is currently transiting Pisces, and is now passing over Page’s natal Mercury and forming a square angle to her natal Chiron. This is a transformative time for Page, as the guiding force of Chiron teaches her how to integrate and release pain and fear.

Mythical Chiron, born as half-man, half-horse, was rejected by his parents, and eventually overcame this, gaining masterful healing abilities as he studied with teachers. Astrologically, Chiron corresponds to strength that can collect around personal challenges — feelings of being unlovable, worthless and abandoned. The healing comes in as Chiron guides us to consciously release these negative emotions, raising our awareness and our acceptance of ourselves.

The Chiron square Chiron transit in Page’s chart represents a pressure point; there was tension pushing her to face hidden parts of herself that Mercury in Pisces had kept inside all these years. It’s as if she transformed on that stage last Friday, led by Chiron’s healing journey inward.

“I also do it selfishly, because I’m tired of hiding. And I’m tired of lying by omission. I suffered for years because I was scared to be out. My spirit suffered, my mental health suffered, and my relationships suffered. And I’m standing here today, with all of you, on the other side of that pain.”

Her film credits include Smart People, Inception, Whip It and the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past. She was nominated for an Academy Award for best actress, a Golden Globe, and a British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award for her breakthrough role in 2007’s Juno, in which Page played a pregnant teenager.

Another “oops!” – thanks to Elizabeth for this reading.

Paul: Oops! Yes, i meant “less horrible” – a mistake reminiscent of an Aquarian Mercury retrograde, what? Thank you for chiming in, Music Man!

Free wi fi….flooded railways…..politicians getting told that it would be easier to speak the truth…….archaic infrastructure………biblical proportions……..noah’s archive ….what shall I do……dip into PW…… The flood-the-UK plan has finally worked….100 years in the planning……!! The inspiring part is to see government agencies getting told and then embarrassed into taking action …ripping into each other ….. while the ordinary people shine through loud and proud……..but I thought you said “chironic irrigation”

Len I am sure the word LESS featured in that sentence above…..now it could be irony….perfect synchronicity……..freudian slip…..or even heavenly intervention…but somehow it seems that it DOES take more cognitive faculties to be ‘orrible…….and that in itself…… is part of our music hall heritage……..!!

    “Walk this way….” “Madam…if I could walk that way…….”

Bob Dylan’s first trip to England in 1966 featured a film clip of him trying to play a song just a little bit reefered…….

    ” hey man…we are underwater….” he giggled….!!

    Prophetic dude….!!

What is Neptunian…Intuitive…and frothing on the edges of your conscious today….will be mainstream…. centre politics…. and serious marketing fodder by the time you get to the state of the union…now that IS the creative dynamic……never varies…….the musical artist Beck actually missed out all of the in-between steps and licensed his albums out to consumerism…..the rest are in the trash…….!!

Prince plays Ronnie Scotts tonight…….the cult of celebrity dives right off of the glamour puss…….he struggled to sell 146 tickets……..we have reached the tipping point…..finally our society is questioning the antics of the few with a roar that means the lamb is lying down with the lion…….the money changers in the temple are being shown the door……and are heading out to Dubai….real fast……..nobody cares….about anything much….so the idea that you can still generate excitement through media overload….in order to push consumerism off of the chart is funny, naive, head-up-bottom…ish….and completely stupid.

As we head on into the second quarter waxing of the Uranus – Pluto opposition over the next 3 years……

Work harder at being really ‘orrible……..then you can relax and have fun…..knowing you have had a very successful day at the office…..!!

And finally….UK politicians are seriously considering the idea that the cause of all this meteorological brouhaha is climate change and global warming…..

    Now don’t be silly….!!

Gotta fly….my train just set off down the runway….!!

    Wet love

    Paul

Eric: Thank you for a brilliant and informative reading of an auspicious moment. And yes, why not “make an effort to be horrible to one another”?
