A Mysterious Opposition to the New Moon

Note to Readers: This is a sample of what appeared today in Planet Waves Astrology News.

Dear Friend and Reader:

This weekend’s Libra New Moon is exactly (to less than one degree) opposite a minor planet conjunction: 1992 QB1 and Achilles. I’m glad I checked this this: these are two minor planets with which I’m very familiar, having worked with them for a full decade. Both are subtle and a bit off the normal wavelength of awareness. Their conjunction is also square the lunar nodes and is thus showing up high on the list of priorities. Let’s go in alphabetical order, numbered planet first.

Srimati Radharani is the Supreme Goddess. She is most always seen with Lord Krishna.
Srimati Radharani is the Supreme Goddess. She is most always seen with Lord Krishna.

1992 QB1 is a planet slightly past Pluto that confirmed the existence of the Kuiper Belt: an enormous band of planetoids and icy debris in the region of Pluto. It was the first planet discovered beyond Pluto, and it was spotted first on the Aries Point, to the degree, in 1992. It has not been named, though a whole class of planets has been named after her: the Cubewanos (Q-B-1-o’s), which usually have orbits in range of 300 years (Pluto is about 250 years, so as mentioned, they’re a little further out). I have contacted the co-discoverer, Jane X. Luu, and proposed the name Radharani, the consort of Lord Krishna.

I believe that this is a feminine archetype associated with people, predominantly women, who assist people at threshold moments: midwives who help us birth; hospice workers who help us die; orgasm coaches, who teach us how to let go more deeply; Tantrikas who introduce us to the sexual mysteries; and all teachers and guides who assist others in the process of crossing boundaries within themselves. Said another way, she represents anyone who takes a personal risk and gives from their souls to assist those who must cross a spiritual border. I have a word for them, which is thresholders, and I believe they come under the guidance of, and are significated by, this small planet.

1992 QB1 is similar in energy to Vesta, but less detached; more directly involved in the process. She does not have to address the paradox of the ‘sacred prostitute who is also chaste’ and is therefore not under a vow of celibacy in any form. To the contrary, her personal experience in all of these matters is what would make her a master (or at least adept) of the 8th house of death and transformation.

Dude, Where's My Tribe?
By Judith Gayle | Political Waves

There’s a new game afoot that I suspect you’ve noticed and may even have developed some skill at playing. It’s a kind of Cosmic Where’s Waldo?, where we scan our headlines, our television screens, our neighbors’ responses and our co-workers’ attitudes for some hint of reality, some sense of spiritual aptitude. We’ve traveled a long summer’s madness, trickled tears at the twists and turns that are pummeling our nation, battled our fears over the projections and losses and defaults; wondering if we’re the only ones hunting a solution other than chaos. The shifting landscape of our game board has taken us into distressing, often surprising territory, but we trudge on, looking for that sparkle of awareness in the eyes that will tell us we’ve found like-mind. Our family members sometimes turn into one of those dim Not Waldo faces as we search feverishly for the lost ones; we mourn a bit, heart-shocked and disturbed, then move on in our quest. We’re in search of our tribe.

the Festering Fringe.

Back in May, some big players in our game turned retrograde within a day of one another; Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron. They’d been traveling in a pack under the altruistic canopy of the Water Bearer, Aquarius; had been and will be again, into the new year. Jupiter has slowed and begun forward movement now; perhaps some of the zealotry, bloviating and excess will dissipate or, at minimum, we can begin to put it into perspective. As with any retro, we got a review period; and a particularly potent one. We’ve had a good, long look at the unenlightened and the unintelligent, who bellow louder than the many who gained insight into the Jupitarian concerns of ethical and moral social expression during this period. If Chiron requires us to re-wound, we’ve managed it; if it is also the path toward our healing, then I suggest we get on with it. Our nation is dis-eased in many ways, her fractured schisms symptomatic of her decline; and as with every such malady, it’s our choice of remedy that makes all the difference.

You have no doubt heard that our president has received one of the most honored awards the world bestows: the Nobel Peace Prize. The Committee Chairman was very specific about the reason Obama unanimously beat out 200 other nominees, saying, “Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future. We are not awarding the prize for what may happen in the future, but for what he has done in the previous year. We would hope this will enhance what he is trying to do.” The firestorm of opinion that greeted this remarkable accomplishment was stunning. When a respected Washington Post columnist writes that the award is “ridiculous, embarrassing,” she is displaying a deep lack of vision into these changing times; when Glenn Beck says the prize should, instead, have gone to his Tea Baggers — and later declares that the White House finally going after the Republican propaganda machine, FOX News, is comparable to Hitler’s assault on the Jews — then I suddenly feel the true impact of the words ‘ridiculous’ and ’embarrassing.’ Neither of these people are Waldo. Dude, where’s my tribe?

Planet Waves
From the Monthly Horoscope for October 2009, Libra edition – BY ERIC FRANCIS
Planet Waves

Gemini (May 20- June 21)
Many seasons of your life have been spent figuring out what was bothering you. This has involved a difficult confrontation with the past, during which you’re likely to have discovered how much emotional baggage you’re dragging around, courtesy of your family and your upbringing. This nagging sense that something was wrong has been the source of so much of your perfectionism. What you’re now discovering is that it’s best to exchange this for other methods of growth that actually get you somewhere. At the moment, it’s equally important that you leave behind the baggage as it is that you leave behind your struggle to sort it out. You’re about to embark on a new kind of challenge: something entirely more creative, and that is obviously beautiful. You crave this with all your heart and soul. How many times have you discovered that analysis only gets you so far? At a certain point you have to pick up the world and sculpt it with your hands, proceeding on the basis of feeling. For the next few weeks, you may still need to iron out your concepts. I suggest you boil what you’ve learned down to a few ideas short enough to write on the wall; something easy to remember, akin to a sharp tool you can hang on your belt and use when you need it.

Planet Waves

Libra (Sep. 22 – Oct. 23)
For years, your potential has existed like a mirage. You see what is possible; you feel the strength of your ideas and the need to hold a clear vision for yourself; but often this turns out to be like peering into a different dimension, one that you cannot reach or experience as solid. This is a special kind of torture, but for you, its days are numbered. Here is an astrological secret you’re unlikely to hear elsewhere. Libra is the most potent creative well of the zodiac. Fortunately since everyone has Libra somewhere in his or her natal chart, we can draw on an unlimited battery of innovation and beauty. You have your Sun placed in this sign; you can be one and the same as this creative well, if you allow yourself to go there; and if you allow yourself the permission to take initiative. Saturn is about to enter your sign for the first time in nearly 30 years. This is likely to represent one of the few times in your adult life that you feel like you’re standing on solid ground. Decisions will mean more, and you will finally have a sense of how valuable you are to your relationship partners, business partners and colleagues. Manifesting this will require some elements of letting it happen, and certain elements of making it happen. Trust that you’ll know exactly what to do.

Planet Waves

Aquarius (Jan. 20- Feb. 19)
It would be an understatement to say that you’ve been living through one of the most outrageous identity crises in the history of psychology. Okay, maybe that’s actually an overstatement, but you know what I’m talking about. There have been so many elements to this, going back so long, you seem to have a) lost track of them and b) grown accustomed to this simply being the way things are. There is something about yourself, essential to this whole process, that keeps coming in and out of focus. It’s like you get it into your vision and manifestation field, then it disappears; then you re-focus, and feel its reality, then it vanishes again. If you study this, you will get a look at how your inner components speak to one another. If you study this over time, you will see how you are gradually integrating aspects of your character that have tended to exist in layers and to act independently of one another, sometimes leading you to make the kinds of strange decisions that can only be accounted for by a lack of self-awareness. You have taken some amazing steps this year to both raise your awareness and integrate many seemingly separate aspects of yourself. As the next few weeks unfold, notice the strange and beautiful feeling emerge that you are one coherent entity, poised to travel a distinct, unique trajectory in life.

10 thoughts on “A Mysterious Opposition to the New Moon”

  1. Len,

Last year we did a story about meteor pieces in a field in Canada…trying to remember the special significance…but it created a really brilliant and up-close fiery display when it entered the atmosphere. Lots of film footage of the event.

Will be thinking of this special rock as we enter the New Moon. Thanks for the heads up.

  2. The Library seems to be my main point of focus lately, must be something metephoric in that.

Last evening, again waiting in line to use a computer, a woman stood behind me and made small talk about two points that later seemed more interesting than they did at the time.

    1. She was returning to school, and had noticed that around her it was women who were doing this sort of thing, and that men were not. She was looking for some “answer” to this. I found it an interesting observation tho I do not have experience of the observation myself and later considered that it tied into the surging feminine awakening.

    2. I was initially put off because she was planning to attend pharmacutical school. After contemplation, I realized that while studying something more “nature oriented” seems more like a Healing Path, this too could be a Healer’s path and not necessarily a “buy-in” to corporate greed — and that it will take years of work for us to find balance with what science (and legal drug makers) have Created and their Wares of Destruction. For the time being, I hope this woman and others are join a community caring and informed people who will make inroads to bridging that gap.

  3. V.Q., What are you thinkin’?! Don’t lose that, man!! Valuable assets, the philangies!{my 2 favorite people}(sp.f’d) You might need them to… well, something… High five the world! A big ass high five!

Laughing at my own multitudinous applications. (That’s freakin’ laughs right there! Please, don’t ever take any of my shit personal, I figure it all out, after the fact. And it’s always amusing.)

All I am is an energetic tangle of laughter! It’s pretty funny!

  4. Alright, i’m gonna leap a bit, these NEA’S(near Earth asteroids) are aiming for us, man. It’s just a matter of time ’til one of them hits. What to do?! (Think 10,000 years ago)

I’m dragging this conversation back to the rocket/moon space because, 1) I think science is cool. 2) this is neat shit we find ourselves in. 3)We couldn’t escape this shit, even if we put our fingers in our ears, and said La La La La La!

Straight up, Tech is cool! Get over it, it’s done. We now have too solve our issues with tech! It’s here, too stay. Raise your gardens, and jump on the net! Make sure your wi-fi is operational, and your cabbage is thriving! (We’ve got some things too talk about, Down beside the rising tide) The garbage in politics can’t continue to happen. We actually have too infiltrate, and reclaim, our values (ONLY THE GOOD STUFF). The equality, and shit! (Jokes and laughter!!!) But, real terminology.

We SO NEED to get beyond this War shit!! There’s way to much shit too do without freakin’ wars all over the world! It’s just plain freakin’ dumb! Dumb, I tell you!!

This shit is all a trap for the human consciousness, It’s also the only way through the garden, to the ring, or whatever it is we’re looking for?!?

(We’ll make it, skipping and holding hands.. at least in MY reality!)

Oh yeah, we fucked this world up with technology, going back to climbing trees won’t get us out of this shit. We’ve some damned fine thinking ahead of us (Like, Right freaking Now!)

Stopping while still smiling, (and laughing)

    Jere

  5. Shanna,
Don Yeomans, manager of the Near-Earth Object Program Office at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena said “You’d expect an object this size to fly within the orbit of the Moon every few days or so.”. So, it’s not that big a deal except this one got caught (oops, where do we mail the traffic ticket?).

One of about seven million objects in near-Earth space, something in this size range can be expected to contact our atmosphere once every seven years or so. The big variables are angle of incidence and composition of the object. Lots of times they will skip off like a stone skipping over a pond. Other times they will break up. It’s possible it could cause damage but with two-thirds of the Earth’s surface being oceans, i would not lose any sleep about it.

The main thing was not the timing of its passing but the timing of it’s detection. One of those trees falling in the forest kind of things.

  6. Have to say that Heil Obama cover is looking pretty Plutonic! We’re talkin’ somebody’s ready to rock the house. Now I’m beginning to understand why some folks fall for bad boys… 😉

Len — so how often does an asteroid pass this close? Do you know? I’m wondering how rare this is. And just before a new moon, hm. Foreign objects in the sky just passing by…

  7. Tonight, just before Midnight on the East Coast, an asteroid (discovered just yesterday, 30 feet in diameter, named “2009 TM8”) will pass within 216,000 miles of earth. That’s inside the Moon’s orbit. That’s about twenty-six hours before the New Moon.

Have not been able to determine what signs/houses it will move through. At that short of a distance and at 18,163 miles an hour, it may be moot.

Long term orbital trajectory not yet plotted.

  8. Eric also said earlier in this article: “Libra is intense and nobody really wonders why; few people notice. We think of it as the nice, laid-back sign of balance and things that work well aesthetically, but I describe Libras as the human blow torch. That flame, set to low, seems harmless and barely noticeable, but then when you turn the knob it jets out hot enough to burn through steel or compose the best rock music you’ve ever heard (Thom Yorke, for one wholesome example).”

Libra, intense? In and of herself? I always thought I was just a weirdo. :-} Actually, I always attributed my intensity to having Moon and Venus in Scorpio (I’ve got Neptune there also, but that’s more generational than personal).

  9. Earlier in this article Eric says “Venus square Pluto is a picture of one’s internal experience of a relationship; of one’s own relationship tendencies…”

He goes on to speak to this aspect’s effects on love relationships.

Does this aspect also affect other types of relationships, ie. relationships with money, relationships with planet earth? Some of these other ways of relating seem to be up for me and the collective.
