Watching the Wheels

Dear Friend and Reader:

The other day, looking at some astrology charts, and comparing them to the front pages of major news websites, I had an odd feeling. It was the sensation that the planets are going around and around, and the news is going around and around, which came with a question: does this story ever culminate?

Is there ever even a turning point where it's possible to say that there's some improvement in the human condition? I reckon that many sensitive, aware people are past the point where they think all we need to do is hope and pray.

Planet Waves
Is astrology -- and life -- a trip on the Mad Teacup Ride?
I started to get inside the feelings of someone who is aware of current events and, following the astrology, is waiting for a day when there's going to be some breakthrough, some sense of relief. Considered emotionally, the state of the world is, in a word, overwhelming. That counts whether you want to do something about it, or you're in a position where you know you can't do anything.

Notice something vital: what we think of as news coverage gives no hint how to process the material spiritually, or how to respond any other way. I’ve long found this to be curious. What, exactly, is the purpose of "the news," except to influence and harvest public opinion? What are we supposed to do with everything we learn? How is it possible to process all the pain and struggle we're exposed to?

The other day, The New York Times editorial board published a commentary called The Groundhog Day War in Afghanistan, pointing out that this military action has gone on nonstop for 16 years, at a cost of $800 billion and 2,000 American lives, "Where there is still no peace, and where everything seems to be going backward."

What editors of the Times neglected to mention is that while the war in Afghanistan does not seem to have an end, it definitely had a beginning: it was started as a direct response to the events of Sept. 11, 2001, just two months later. Remember that? It was supposed to be about bombing a few training camps, where Osama bin Laden did something or other. Now it's a permanent institution, one that costs at least $1 million per soldier per year to sustain.

Planet Waves
Bill Murray in Groundhog Day, a film about how life seems to repeat itself endlessly -- and how to take advantage of the cycles.
Regarding Sept. 11, we've yet to have any real accountability, much less healing, of that incident. All we have are questions, wars and a memorial that you, too, can visit for $109, including a guided tour.

This thing now known as ISIS or ISIL, the "Islamic state," is a result of the American and British invasion of Iraq, which action also used Sept. 11 as its absurd excuse. Today the official American policy toward ISIL is "annihilation," meaning that a lot of civilians are being killed, and a lot of military supplies are being bought and sold.

Afghanistan is the Groundhog Day war? I'm old enough to remember Vietnam. I'm young enough to have studied it at university. This just goes on and on. At least with Vietnam, there were protests. No matter how right or wrong someone thought Vietnam was, people were responding and calling the thing what they thought it was. We had some notion that there were two sides of the story, even if one was Richard Nixon and the other was represented by Abbie Hoffman.

Today there's dead silence about these endless wars, and often that feels like the oxygen being sucked out of existence.

These are a few among countless equally depressing, frustrating, even infuriating stories; current news of the day is that Trump is taking action to pull the United States, the biggest polluter in history, out of the Paris carbon accord. He claims that global warming is fake news, a false rumor spread by the Chinese (close second for the biggest polluter in history).

Planet Waves

Maybe it's just PR, but even Rex Tillerson, so recently chairman and CEO of ExxonMobil, is in favor of staying in the Paris accord. This news arrives as we learn that over the past 18 months, coral along two-thirds of the Great Barrier Reef has died -- due to something called mass bleaching, which means, getting cooked by global warming.

I am what used to be called a newsman. Going back to childhood, I've spent much of my life trying to figure out this kind of stuff, trying to make sense of it. Day after day, I've become accustomed to digging in, analyzing the information, and holding people accountable. But what if you're not that interested? What if you're drowning not just in information but also disinformation and bad news?

And what if you know that, despite that, these developments are as important as they are infuriating?

So, I sat there with my charts out, scanning the news sites for any real developments at all, and it occurred to me again why the personal aspect of astrology is so important. It's painful to think that we cannot change the world so much. We need all the help changing ourselves, and every possible reminder to focus on our inner lives -- on growth -- rather than just improving our material lives (important though that is).

I often think of some early lyrics of Bono: "I can't change the world, but I can change the world in me." One thing I've noticed, from personal experience and from listening to my clients, is that making personal changes can seem as overwhelming as changing the world. Isn't that interesting? That growth on an inner, individual level, can feel as daunting as changing a nation or altering the course of history.

Planet Waves
The newspaper horoscope is the most granular, microscopic method of reading astrology, yet careful use of the aspects can provide a significant advantage in life. Photo is from Thursday's NY Daily News.
How is that possible? Well, consider that it's the same mind doing the thinking. The same mind that perceives the world perceives the world in you -- and that would seem to be the most significant place to work.

One of the things astrology does best is to describe the dynamics of your inner environment.

For the past few months, I've been involved in an unusual project, which is writing a daily horoscope for a major metropolitan newspaper. Since beginning my astrological studies, I've followed the planets closely, though never quite like this. Day after day, I'm looking for the leverage points that will help you facilitate inner change. Seven days a week, I read the chart 12 different ways, which is a real exercise in perspective.

I recognize that most people face what feel like nonstop emotional, psychological and physical obstacles. Some of these come from others, and many come from within us, whatever their origins. And astrology, in the right hands, can help work through those obstacles and, sometimes, address them at their source.

While I've been doing this granular-level interpretation -- 50 words, 12 signs, every day -- I did another project, taking a somewhat opposite approach to the astrology. That is INVOLUTION, the 2017 spring and summer video reading

For this kind of project, covering a longer timeframe than a single day, and with more space to work (half an hour per sign, with the visual aid of the chart, rather than 50 words), it's necessary to take a wide-angle approach to the astrology.

Planet Waves
Charts used in the research and recording of INVOLUTION. Each sign and rising sign gets its own, called a solar chart. This method works better than most people suspect, if the astrologer trusts their chart.
The longer readings depend on placing yourself into the context of your lifespan. I look at aspects that just happen once, or which might only repeat every few decades (or even less often).

With this much space to work, I can describe the landscape of your life. I can describe the energetic environment of society, and then help you find the meeting points between them. They actually do exist.

Yet there are two qualities these readings have that I think stand above the others. One is motivation. Ultimately, I'm a motivational speaker. My job as I see it is to get you excited about your life, and your prospects, and your ideas, and your capacity for love.

Another is confirmation. While I bring in a good few "new" ideas, I set out to confirm what you already know. If you've chosen a certain path or are working on something you're pretty sure about but not entirely sure, I'm here to tell you that you can trust yourself.

Writing this reminds me of the moment when I knew I had to be an astrologer. I was sitting on the little brick wall in front of a place called Gage Hall, watching parents move their students into a building that I knew was contaminated with PCBs and dioxin-like compounds. I had done everything I could to expose the truth of that contamination -- and nobody seemed to care. Then one kid's mother accused me of doing the whole thing -- a years-long investigation -- for kicks. Not because there was a real problem.

At that moment, it occurred to me that there was something psychological going on. I knew that I needed to devote most of my work to the inner world of human growth rather than the outer world.

Today, we're in a different place. We're confronted, ongoing, by a global crisis that we cannot ignore, but that for many reasons, we must put at the backs of our minds. Many of us see the connections between the inner and the outer. And many of us know something else: that as part of solving the world crisis, we must attend to our inner state. The way we're going to solve the global crisis is that we're going to outgrow it.

With love,

Money Isn't Just About Money

One thing I've learned, working on financial issues with my clients over many years, is how little about money actually involves money. It's attached to everything from early childhood conditions, to self-esteem, to how our relationships with our parents developed.

Planet Waves
Were your parents overprotective? This can make someone fear taking risks, which can hinder their ability to earn money for what they do.
It's connected to communication style, negotiating skills, assertiveness, and the ability to play the game. Determination is crucial. Confidence is essential, and sadly this is in short supply these days. The choices one makes, such as how to handle partnership, marriage and divorce, all play a role.

Acquiring and holding onto money distinctly does not seem to involve having good karma, wanting to do the right thing, being ethical, being spiritual, being generous or wanting to save the world. Indeed, those qualities may present obstacles to financial success or even basic survival.

Even intelligence does not seem to be necessary; we've all met some astoundingly dumb-ass people who have a ton of money. Luck seems to play a role, though we might ask ourselves what that's about.

Money is about a relationship to existence. This thing that provides us with food, shelter, sewer access, medical care and the comforts of life, is not a separate thing. It's existential. And when you add the factor of wanting to do what you love, that emphasizes the relationship-to-existence factor.

On Saturday, I'm teaching my first class on finance, business and astrology. After working in the field for many years (most readings at some point touch on financial issues), I'm here to reveal what I've learned from many clients, including those in the financial industry.

Like all of my work, this will take a holistic view of the subject. The subject really is a study of people and what they do with their resources, which can include everything from your talents to your tool collection to your extra room to your ideas.

Planet Waves
Sections of the natal charts of Steve Jobs, left, and Bill Gates, both of which contain a Moon-Eris conjunction down to a tiny fraction of a degree.
As a warmup, we'll start with looking at the charts, and the early childhood conditions, of Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, two men who were undeniably successful, and who changed the world. They have a stunning synchronicity in their charts: an exact conjunction of the Moon and Eris.

Then we'll develop those charts into a theory of finance and success; we'll talk about how to use the official money houses (2, 8 and 11); and then spend the rest of the class working with the charts and life stories of students who are in the room.

The class will be presented as an audio teleconference, and recorded (and its materials preserved) for future review. This class will always be available as a recording; now's your opportunity to take part in a human and conversational environment.

You're invited to sign up here. Tuition for this class is discounted for Core Community and Backstage Pass members. The tuition on the link here is for Core Community. If you're a Backstage Pass holder, please write to us.

Paris Accord: It's the Thought, and the Example, that Counts

Today at about 3 pm, Donald Trump announced that the US would be pulling out of the Paris climate change accord. With the recent revelation of the loss of the Great Barrier Reef, this is indeed fell news.

To me, the issue is the example this sets, and the message that it sends. It's the thought that counts. That said, one of Amanda's Facebook friends offered this analysis, which squares with what I've read and heard on Democracy Now!:
For everyone freaking out about Trump's decision to bail on the Paris Accord. Consider that the United States will not be able to give notice of its departure from the agreement until November 4, 2019, three years after the accord entered into force. And the country will not technically leave Paris until Nov. 4, 2020 -- one day after that year's presidential election.

It doesn't become effective until the next administration. Therefore, all the more reason to get him out of office now.
Planet Waves
Approximate chart for Donald Trump backing the U.S. out of the Paris global warming agreement, set for 3 pm, Washington, D.C.
Let's take a very fast look at the chart. Note the Moon's position, not shown, at 14+ Virgo; and the Mars-Chiron-Pholus T-square is going at full force. For those familiar with the issue, Mars is in the Atlantis degree, and Chiron and Pholus are aspecting the Atlantis degree. But check out this interesting bit.

This chart is for the approximate time of Trump's announcement, showing the 7th house: the surrounding environment, and relationships.

The 'diamond-shaped Venus' glyph closest to the horizon line is Pallas Athene, the asteroid of politics and law. Pallas is about to make a conjunction to Eris (with this odd point called the vertex right in the mix, which some say has a fated quality).

Pallas conjunct Eris reveals the intent of this maneuver is to cause chaos, political and otherwise. Much of the American business community, which Trump claims to represent, is in favor of a change to reducing carbon and emphasizing renewable energy. Many states and locales are also getting into the act.

It's also Trump responding to an environment where sometimes it seems all that exists is intellectual chaos; where anything anyone doesn't like is "fake news." We've heard over and over again that global warming, which can flood the New York City subway and has turned the Arctic into a lake, is a rumor spread by the Chinese.

So, no matter how you slice this chart, we see the absence of reason and of intellectual grounding, and the intent to mess things up. Yet this could backfire.

I'll leave you with a quote from the typically stodgy but increasingly hip New York Times editorial page, which at worst is as middle of the road as it gets. And I'll take this up first thing on Tuesday's Planet Waves FM.
Perhaps most astonishing of all, a chief executive who touts himself as a shrewd businessman, and who ran on a promise of jobs for the middle class and making America great again, seems utterly oblivious to the damage this will do to America's own economic interests. The world's gradual transition from fossil fuels has opened up a huge global market, estimated to be $6 trillion by 2030, for renewable fuels like wind and solar, for electric cars, for advanced batteries and other technologies.

America's private sector clearly understands this opportunity, which is why, in January, 630 businesses and investors -- with names like DuPont, Hewlett Packard, Pacific Gas and Electric -- signed an open letter to then-President-elect Trump and Congress, calling on them to continue supporting low-carbon policies, investment in a low-carbon economy and American participation in the Paris agreement. It is also why Elon Musk, chief executive of the electric vehicle maker Tesla, said he would resign from two presidential advisory councils if Mr. Trump exited Paris.
Sky
Mars, Venus and Learning to Trust Yourself

By Amanda Painter

In times of great stress or uncertainty, such as in our current cultural environment, people often cling even tighter to what feels familiar, sure or secure. Even if doing so causes more stress, tension and feelings of insecurity or doubt than before. It can be incredibly difficult to trust the universe -- even when you say that's what you want to do.

Planet Waves

Perhaps that's because when we say, "trust the universe," what we often mean is, "trust myself." But there are countless ways people grow up being told that they can't or shouldn't trust themselves.

You might have gotten the message as a child from an early caregiver that you can't trust your preferences and desires (because they were 'different'). Maybe when you started making friends or dating, painful experiences told you that you shouldn't trust your judgment of others' character. Possibly you've lived so well within the confines of 'what everybody else does and thinks' that you simply have never tested that boundary to learn how to trust your creativity.

Yet every once in a while there comes a time when, no matter how contrary it is to your usual desires, habits, sense of security or priorities, you feel yourself drawn to making a different choice. When this happens amid other pressures or a lack of clarity, or when the world around you seems to be going to shit, trusting that new inclination might not make much sense on the surface.

Dear Friend and Reader:

Your INVOLUTION video readings are recorded and ready; these cover the astrology from late spring through midsummer 2017. The year so far has been nothing short of shocking; as in, on an almost daily basis -- and I see things coming to a peak of some sort with the Aug. 21 eclipse in just three months.

Planet Waves
Go figure! A reading where you actually can understand what the astrologer is talking about. This preview is from the Taurus video. See video samples here for each of the signs.
We have a free video preview of all 12 signs, and you can read a written preview (really, a reading) in the links right at the bottom of this letter.

Also, the readings are now available as audio-only, so you can listen offline, or get them into a device and play them while you're out of the house.

The astrology between now and the eclipse will affect every single one of us, albeit in slightly different ways. And so I've recorded the INVOLUTION readings from the perspective that while you obviously want to know how it affects you personally, it will also be helpful to you to know how those around you are experiencing it.

You may order all 12 signs here, or individual signs here.

I'm one of a very few astrologers who can do a reading without the natal chart data, using both ancient techniques and new ones that I've developed over the years. My clients are, sincerely, amazed at how helpful and personally applicable these readings so dependably are.

To give you a sense of where I've gone with these 12 video readings, I've prepared an individual written preview page for each one. You can read all of them at the links below:

One of the most helpful things in this reading is my first interpretation of the Great American Eclipse of August 21, 2017 -- which will streak across the entire United States from coast to coast. That eclipse will change life as we know it in the United States, and you'll want to have your surfboard positioned correctly when the wave comes in.

I'll have more in the full video readings, which are ready now. To get all 12 signs of INVOLUTION at a fantastic discount, please use this link -- you may share the readings with your family.

To purchase individual signs of INVOLUTION, please use this link.

Thank you for your business and for trusting me as your astrologer.

with love,

P.S. Here's more early feedback from INVOLUTION customers:
"I feel less alone in this universe from listening/viewing the reading."
-- Eileen

"Thank you Eric, So much depth to incorporate on so many levels! These past 10 years have brought more change and more insight into my life than I ever imagined was possible. I loved when you said that we might re-discover ourselves repeatedly. SO TRUE. The revelations about family issues, ties and generational connections are profound, to say the least. Thank you for addressing all these deep, personal, sometimes wrenching situations. I too wish to express my love and gratitude for the guidance and intensely personal gift you've given us."
-- Barb

"So deeply helpful and encouraging Eric; confirms my experiences recently and over the past 10 years. I'm so curious about what the 8/21 eclipse will bring/reveal. Saturn in Sagittarius moving to Capricorn this December marks my second Saturn return. I am at a very significant time in my life. Thanks so much for your care and guidance."

Eric Francis Presents: Business, Finance and Astrology

Dear Friend of Planet Waves:

On Saturday, June 3, I'll be offering my first-ever class on business, finance and money. This is a wide subject; I'm planning to focus on understanding the most basic dynamics of personal cash flow, accessing your personal resources and connecting your creativity to money.

Planet Waves
Eric Francis. Photo by Jeff Bisti.
In a half-day class, we'll be able to define the main subjects, see how they relate to the chart structure, and then do some personal cases. This will be a strong beginning, and if you start reading from a strong premise, you will get a better result.

Bear in mind how emotionally charged the money issue is. It relates to our parents and to the values of our families; it's intertwined in relationships; and it's connected to self-esteem. We will focus on some of these emotional and psychological aspects of money as well, using both example charts and the charts of students in the class.

As for my background: I've been in business on my own since 1989, mostly in publishing and consulting. I've also worked with many, many hundreds of clients since 1995 on everything from planning the charts of business inceptions, to negotiating financial settlements, to seeking raises and promotions.

As a Planet Waves member, you get a special discount on this class. Thank you for trusting me as your astrology teacher, and for participating in Planet Waves.

With love,

  • The class will be taught as a live teleconference, and recorded for future review.
  • This is a participation class; it's more effective and more fun with more participation.
  • You can call in by phone or Skype, or listen online. However, you will need to be at a computer, not merely on a phone or device, for full benefit, since you need to have the class materials in front of you big enough to see.
Here's what some of my students have said about my teaching:
"Eric never loses sight of the whole person. This is incredibly rare with skilled astrologers in practice and to be able to deliver this to people in class is no easy feat. His is a truly holistic approach and what he delivers is truly one of a kind -- something born of a moment that is as true in that moment as it is later on."
-- Suzana Da Costa
"Eric is able to transmit his knowledge of astrology with generosity. I appreciate very much the fact that he insists on having our own perspective and context interpretation. His view of astrology as an art but also as a form of therapy is very intriguing to me. Eric is a great communicator."
-- Yohainna Abdala
"Technology is a wonderful thing when it connects people together to follow their passion. Eric is a great teacher as he empowers people to think creatively. Bless."

Eat Your Oatmeal, Alter Your Worldview

By Amanda Painter

"I'm going to tell you some things," says one little bird to another. "You're not going to believe these things I tell you. And that's okay. You have good reason not to. But I need you to keep listening, regardless of what you believe."

So begins a long-form comic from The Oatmeal (by Matthew Inman) explaining "the backfire effect": a term from the world of neuroscience for a well-documented psychological behavior. Even better than explaining it, The Oatmeal actually walks the reader through examples designed to help you experience it -- and then offers some hints for how to deal with it when you encounter it within yourself.

What is the backfire effect?

In short, it's the phenomena of how people react as though they've been attacked when certain core beliefs have been challenged by demonstrable facts. Thanks to evolution, the most primitive part of our brain perceives such challenges as though they're actual threats to our lives. Turns out it's a big reason why human beings cause such damage to each other due to conflicts in ideology: we have a biologically built-in way of protecting a worldview.

As you'll see by reading all the way through The Oatmeal's comic, however, there may be ways to become more aware of the phenomena in yourself -- and, gently, to change.

The Planets are On the Move

Dear Friend and Listener:

This week's edition of Planet Waves FM [play episode here] looks at the interesting inner-planet activity at the moment (summed up in Monday's edition of Planet Waves). This includes Mercury, Venus and Mars all making aspects to outer planets before changing signs and forming a magnificent pattern from about June 4 through June 10.

Planet Waves
Sister Bliss (Ayalah Deborah Bentovim) and Maxi Jazz (Maxwell Fraser), the onstage members of Faithless, mirroring one another. Not shown is Rollo (Roland Armstrong), the producer and offstage member of the band (which was active 1995-2011).
First a reminder: I'm teaching my first-ever class on business, finance and astrology at noon EDT this coming Saturday, June 3. Please check this link to sign up

I also look at the unusual outer-planet astrology of late 2017 into 2018, as Saturn, Chiron and Uranus all change signs.

I do a brief news overview, focusing on two issues: Jared Kushner's plan to create a private line of communication between the Trump transition team and Vladimir Putin, and a law that was quietly slipped through Congress in March that allows your internet provider to sell your browsing history.

That means that not only is a record of every website you visit being recorded by your phone company, the information is not private. This includes all your shopping, research including medical, surfing porno and downloading whatever -- is now all sellable as product to anyone who will pay for it.

In the last section, I introduce a writer named Maria Yagoda at VICE, and comment on her article, The Confusing and Horrible Rise of the Several Night Stand.

Perhaps without intending to do so, Maria is a faithful reporter from the front lines of the sexual insanity of her generation. She's appalled that people are doing "several night stands" as an alternative to either one-night hookups or a "real relationship," documenting an idea that I've expressed many times on Planet Waves FM: that the middle ground of relationships is disappearing.

I mention one of my parody pieces, The Seven Definitions of Monogamy.

Short Monthly Horoscope for June 2017, #1154 | By Eric Francis
Aries
Aries (March 20-April 19) -- Keep small matters small. That will mean resisting the temptation to blow things out of proportion, which is likely to happen if you're feeling insecure in a relationship. Your insecurity is coming from you, not from anyone else. The good news there is that you're the one who can do something about it. The first thing in that category is to tell the truth. The second is to stand back from what you know is false: simply refuse to accept it. This is a solid step toward feeling at home in your own life, and inside your own four walls. For your Eric Francis horoscope this week, please see this link.
INVOLUTION, the 2017 Spring Reading, has been published! You may read your Aries preview here. Order all 12 signs for the best price, or choose your individual signs.
Taurus
Taurus (April 19-May 20) -- You've finally got your confidence back, after spending so much time wondering where it went. Well, 'it' didn't go anywhere -- by my reading, you had some questions to answer that required you find your true self and your true voice. Consider where you were back in February and compare that to where you are today. Particularly on the issue of growth, something has changed. Suddenly it's not some difficult or arduous task. It's easy and becoming easier, which is exactly what happens if you don't resist change, and don't resist the positive ways people offer you their love and support. For your Eric Francis horoscope this week, please see this link.

A Reading to Help you Choose Your Future, Gemini
"Listening to an Eric Francis reading is very much like having an intimate conversation with a valued friend and mentor. It showed me a future that can be of my own choosing. This Gemini reading is a neon sign showing me the way."
-- Nora Connaughton, on a previous Gemini Birthday Reading
Dear Reader with Gemini Sun or Rising:

I know a few Geminis who have been struggling this past year with feeling 'stuck' -- with projects and jobs that aren't really 'theirs', with their dreams, with options pulling in different directions. Yet I also know some who are truly blazing brightly right now.

Planet Waves
The Cosmic Twins, by Lizanne Webb.
Whichever description fits you, consider something Eric recently wrote to Geminis: "You're at that point where you simply must do what's real, or do your real thing in a way that's more daring, and reaches deeper into yourself."

With the Sun in your sign about to make a fortuitous trine to Jupiter, you seem to have a little extra mojo at your disposal as you pursue "your real thing" -- even if you've felt stuck in some way. But the key to working with Jupiter is to get the ball rolling sooner rather than later, taking steps to prepare the way for 'luck'.

Pre-order your 2017 Gemini Birthday Reading, and you'll receive at least an hour of audio astrology plus Eric's signature tarot reading to help you keep the ball rolling as your year develops.
"It is amazing to me, that no matter what time of the birthday year I refer back to it, it has something to offer. To me it has become not only an annual upcoming preview of one's year ahead, but a continual informative year long reference guide."
-- Ann Cortese, 87, B.S., M.P. S

Gemini
Gemini (May 20-June 21) -- Every single factor that could help you financially is on your side right now. The only thing you have to worry about is falling for the belief that someone is holding something over you. Therefore, refuse to play any game where money is being used as leverage or a power tool. You know that the purpose of cash is to take care of yourself and the people that you love. Anyone who uses it for any other reason, such as to gain an advantage over you or someone else, is violating cosmic law. You don't have to say that; just go about doing your business on your terms. Cancer
Cancer (June 21-July 22) -- The month builds toward a spectacular New Moon in your birth sign, and you may be feeling a sense of anticipation. You don't have to wait for anyone or anything. You know the direction you want to go with your life, particularly in your intimate relationships. Remember that your first relationship is to you, and everything else grows out of your inner orientation. With the Sun and other planets entering your sign later in the month, you'll be reminded of this many times. You have plenty you want to accomplish, and the glass ceiling that used to be over your head has opened you to a new level of potential. Leo
Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) -- Offer yourself fully to what you're doing. Don't hold back, and don't make excuses for why you should do less, or be less present. Lead with your heart, and take the opportunity to be more like a dog, and less like a cat. That means expressing your passion about everyone and everything you're involved with. Then you will ride the positive momentum to entirely new experiences. Your solar chart describes both passion and discipline, and these are the two main ingredients in your success. Know when to set limits, and know when to blow them away as if they don't exist or don't matter. For your Eric Francis horoscope this week, please see this link.

Virgo
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) -- Come out of your cocoon and make some new friends. If you're concerned whether people like you, try setting that question aside for a while. Be yourself and see how others respond. You're still in what I would call the 'interesting' phase of your relationships, where you get mixed reactions and are not sure who you can trust. You can only find out where you stand with people when you actively experiment, and give them a chance to actually respond to you and show their true colors. The most important thing to notice is how you feel. If you feel good around someone, they feel good about you. For your Eric Francis horoscope this week, please see this link.

Libra
Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) -- This will be a spectacular summer for you professionally, but you must prepare before you set out to accomplish everything. You will be extra visible, and you'll draw attention to your work -- so you must know what you're talking about. Do all the reading you need to do; be conversant on the human level in your areas of specialty. Be able to argue both sides of any issue; see the flaws in your own point of view. People will trust you when you can present both the point and the counterpoint, because it shows that you have an informed and balanced opinion. Scorpio
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) -- Where your family is concerned, you're going to be the one who's counted on as the voice of fairness and justice. There seem to be important matters coming to a head, and some people around you are inclined to exaggerate their emotions or use their power unfairly. You need to be the person who is grounded, who knows right from wrong, and who shows some spine when it comes to sticking up for others, particularly young people. Don't be afraid of offending anyone. Just be real and reasonable and devoted to the truth alone. For your Eric Francis horoscope this week, please see this link.

Sagittarius
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) -- This is a passionate moment, and people feel passionately about you. That might mean sex takes you to a new dimension; there are some exciting possibilities for investment, meaning someone who invests in you. The thing to be attentive to is nourishment. Any exchange must not only taste good and be filling, but also be wholesome. For as mystical and adventurous as Sagittarius is, one of its greatest assets is finding a home in what you might call the erotic cosmos. This is a shared space where you and those you love can take care of one another. For your Eric Francis horoscope this week, please see this link.

Capricorn
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) -- How do you respond when people approach you with desire? Do you brush them off or neg them, or do you take the compliment? Someone else expressing desire for you places no obligation on you. Nor do you have any duty to be welcoming. These days, you're the flavor of the month, and you might want to maintain your reputation for respect and honor even if you're not interested in some of your potential suitors. All is not fair in war, and all is certainly not fair in love. You're the one who must make it so. For your Eric Francis horoscope this week, please see this link.

Aquarius
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) -- Your workspace is your healing space. Your work keeps you healthy, and this is a good time to remember that. For most people, this is far from the truth; what they consider employment is for the most part a responsibility they want to get over with as soon as possible, and be on their way. You would laugh at this, but you're too polite. Besides, you have some friendly people around you who are just as determined to do the job well, and for its own sake. The money will flow from there. Pisces
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) -- You're in the midst of some creative and artistic explosion. The dominant feeling is the sensation of knowing how good your life can be, and loving it. You don't need to push the river, or push anyone or anything for that matter. Focus your intentions and move with the flow of events. You're a genuinely original person, and that originality is shining out from you at the moment. Feel good about yourself and you will attract the right people to you: those who care about you, those who appreciate you, and those with whom you can share in the artistry of life.
