Tantra Studio begins after the song break at about 2 hours and 20 minutes.

Tonight’s astrology-rich edition (three of the sections address the current astrology), I look at the Venus-Sun-Salacia alignment that happened Friday morning. Here is the article I reference, about Salacia, which links to an earlier article.

In the third segment I discuss my new hobby — studying physics, and read a letter from Prof. Brent Tully, who led the team that figured out The Great Attractor. If you are into this subject, you will want to read the a Sagittarius reading from a few years ago called Learning To Fly. This includes a video that explains just what the Great Attractor is, inasmuch as someone can know — but the audio below is better (though not visual). It contains a replay of my interview with Prof. Brent Tully, who led the team that discovered the Lanikea supercluster.

The GA is the galaxy cluster of which the Milky Way is part. This structure has a focal point in mid-Sagittarius.

Is everything we experience an extension of our own consciousness? Is there anything that is not subject to our projections onto it, and the experience of projection being perception?

Sun, Venus, Salacia, Chiron: The Question of Trust

Dear Friend and Reader:

Friday, March 26 is the exterior conjunction of the Sun and Venus in Aries. That marks the halfway point between Venus retrogrades. (Venus was most recently retrograde in Gemini in May and June of 2020. Venus turns retrograde in Capricorn on Dec. 19, 2021, in a close conjunction to Pluto. There is no Mars retrograde in 2021.)

Venus in Aries is one of the more challenging placements in astrology. It blurs the line between the interests of self and those of the other, and seems to come with a blind spot. It’s true that the boundary between self and other tends to blur under most conditions on Earth. When we put Venus in the sign of Mars, the self-assertiveness of that placement can overpower the receptiveness and understanding necessary for true emotional intelligence which is a potential gift of Venus.

That said, it’s probably worth mentioning how timid most people are under digital conditions, when the discussion is in real time and space rather than filtered through the distortions of electrical communication.

People can be drunk with bravado online, and afraid to ask for a glass of water in a restaurant. That is calling for some balance, which could come from sensitivity (the active, living, inward kind, not the rule book of what you are supposed to say when).

Instant Access! Aries Studio 2021-22 — extended audio reading for Aries Sun and rising. With special supplement for Chiron return (1968-1977)

The Aries reading is now ready! Here is what our recent customers have to say:

“This last year’s reading for Aries was amazingly accurate in terms of what is going on in my life. Thank you so much.” — A. Wilson, on a previous Aries Astrology Studio

“Thank you for my Aries reading. It is so on point! I listened to it during a road trip; my car companion was also Aries and we really found a lot of similitude in what’s happening on our lives right now. You are the best, so clear, connecting all the dots effortlessly.” — M. Andrews, on a previous Aries Astrology Studio

“I’m an Aries Sun, with Aquarius Rising and Gemini Moon, and listened to all three readings. As always, Eric is extremely encouraging, not just in the energy he brings to the reading, but because of his way of making your life and experiences make sense to you without even needing to speak to you. I find his readings very calming. Planet Waves entered my life at just right time, and I’m so glad it did. I eagerly await all the great work you all put out!” — Yeshua

“This reading is so amazingly dialed-in that I can’t believe it wasn’t written specifically for me. Thank you, Eric, for tying together many strands of intuition of which I was vaguely aware: now I can begin to own and embody them with confidence.” — Anthony, on a previous Aries reading

Sun in Aries: What it Means to be Human

Dear Friend and Reader:

As the Sun moves through the last degrees of Pisces and into Aries, it’s time to discuss the question of what it means to be human. I’ll come to the Equinox chart in a moment, though I have also read it closely in the article with the monthly horoscope.

The more that our humanity is stripped away by the deluge of technology we are drowning in, the more it hurts to do things and feel things that we previously associated with being a person. Buddhism, among many other philosophies, has commented on the struggles inherent in incarnation. It has never been easy.Yet now in our days when humans are merged with synthetic chemicals (known at different times as the opioid crisis, the SNRI/SSRI antidepressant crisis, and many other names), we are merging with computers. That process began a long time ago.

Aries Weekly Horoscope March 16, 2021

Aries

Aries (March 20-April 19) — Your birth sign comes with a strong infusion of what I would call Child energy. Aries is the beginning, and it’s all about embarking on the life experiment with passion and curiosity. Yet the concept ‘child’ comes in two main forms. One is the uninhibited, curious person. The other is the person caught either in petulance or the refusal to take on adult responsibility. Childlike adults can be charming, though you can do better. The chart for the Sun’s ingress into your sign later this week describes certain family conditions that may be popping up as if they were still happening, even though they are in the distant past. You may also get some echoes of your own history when speaking with children, your own or those of other people. In these transactions and memory replays you may find out what is keeping you trapped in certain elements of childhood or resisting taking on certain adult commitments. Really this comes down to a matter of whether you feel you have power over your affairs.

The Aries Equinox: I Am a Child — plus your weekly horoscope by Eric Francis

Dear Friend and Reader:

When the Sun enters Aries, it’s conjunct the asteroid Child. This is a beautiful image of rebirth, apropos of a new season and here in Yankee territory, the end of the “dark winter” that politicians declared last year as part of the 2020 election.

Child can represent childlike curiosity, or some other form of feeling like a child. It can represent the conditions that keep one in a childlike condition, which would be described by the aspect pattern.

We are seeing a lot of this now, as we are all being expected to regress to infancy and do whatever parent-figures say: do it if the Dalai Lama says to. This is the “appeal to authority” fallacy that has gotten us into so much trouble so many times.

Asteroid Child can also represent the “child” state in transactional analysis (TA). For those not familiar with this psychological modality, developed in the late 1950s by Eric Berne (Games People Play), it offers a handy set of tools for understanding real-life situations.

Until the Equinox

Dear Friend and Reader:

When the Sun enters Aries on March 20, it does so in a conjunction to the asteroid Child. Magnified by the Aries Point, this conjunction is a reminder that we live in what poet Robert Bly has called the Sibling Society: a civilization not just without adults, but lacking in commitment.

For one central point in his book, he quotes Alexander Mitscherlich: “Mass society, with its demand for work without responsibility, creates a gigantic army of rival siblings.”

Most people are not interested in work with responsibility. I mean actual responsibility, where it matters whether one is there or not; or said another way, responsibility for the success or failure of something much larger than oneself. Those who take on such duties are usually interested only in power and advantage. That is not responsibility.

On This Pisces Moon

Dear Friend and Reader:

Early Saturday morning (late morning in UK, early afternoon in Europe), the Moon and Sun meet in Pisces for the last New Moon of the astrological year.

The Moon-Sun conjunction takes place with Venus and Neptune in the mix (which form a one-degree conjunct action, along with rainbow goddess Iris). From Greek Mythology, Iris is one of the messengers of gods.

Known for carrying a pitcher with which she waters the clouds, Iris draws her water from the oceans. Among her unusual properties is the ability to travel with the speed of wind to all corners of the world, and then to plunge into the depths of the sea and also visit the underworld.

All of this, and she is also the artist who makes rainbows. So she’s a helpful figure all around, and the perfect compliment to a New Moon in Pisces featuring Venus (exalted in Pisces) and Neptune (considered the contemporary ruler of Pisces) and in aspect to Jupiter (the classical ruler of Pisces).

At the Bending: A Chart About Releasing

Dear Friend and Reader:

The last quarter Moon takes place in Sagittarius at 8:30 pm EST on March 5. This is an unusual chart in many ways, particularly for the direct involvement of the lunar nodes in a non-eclipse event.

We are now halfway between sets of eclipses (a cluster across Gemini/Sagittarius this past November and December, and another in the same signs this coming May and June).

For Friday’s last quarter, the Moon is exactly conjunct the South Node in Sagittarius, while the Sun is exactly square the nodal axis in Pisces. All of this is exact to the degree. There are a couple of names for the Sun square the lunar nodes.

Note that all of this action is taking place at the midpoint of the mutable signs Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.

Virgo Full Moon Memoir :: By Eric Francis

The Biology Underground Meets African Dance and Drum

Dear Friend and Reader:

When I arrived for the Full Moon African dance and drum event on Saturday, I was surprised to see cars parked a quarter mile down the driveway. It looked like there were 50 or 60 vehicles, stretched all the way to the pond. This seemed strange since I was arriving early and I never remembered drum circles being so popular.

By the entrance to the house further up the hill, cars were parked four deep. The place was packed.

This is the location that I describe as “across the river and up the highway, over hill and dale and up the driveway.” There is a rumor that it’s not in GPS. The nearest neighbor is a mile away.

Pisces Weekly Horoscope March 2, 2021

Pisces

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — The past haunts nearly all matters of love and affection. Whether we are talking about nostalgia or past injury, what happened before often lingers like a fog that obscures one’s view of the present. Please, get into the moment. Really and truly find yourself exactly where you are. You will appreciate your life more if you do, and you will also be able to find your way. Remember that when driving through a real fog, it’s better to use your low beams; that is why fog lights are mounted low on the front of a vehicle. Remember to slow down, and relax into the art of driving. It’s OK to stop and wait for a while — often a good idea, as is opening the window and sniffing the air. In other words: be aware of your environment and use your tools effectively. Those include your senses, shamanic objects such as computers, and most of all, your power of decision. The thing about choices is that it comes down to options. You need more of those, so you can evaluate each and dismiss what you know is not right for you. And you do have that knowledge.

Monthly Horoscope for Pisces | March 2021

Pisces

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — Some people are into baseball to cheer for their team. Some are into the game, and will cheer for a fantastic play by the other team. One is about competition. The other is about quality — and that is the thing you want. Your chart is about doing things for their own sake, and doing them well. This is about devotion to beauty, and to purpose, and to your own artistry. You would do well to consider everything you do to be an expression of artistic integrity, which means both beautiful and purposeful. With so many planets in your sign, and your ruling planet Jupiter so well situated, you are no doubt feeling your potential. Yet to engage that, you will need to get physical: build things, go places, conduct experiments, and gain experience with people. It is the “making real” process that has been replaced in our times with downloading an app, or with buying some new piece of technology. The quality of your ideas is your greatest asset, though those exist only in potential until you get into the workshop and start doing things with them. You need to go far enough into the process that you know you can make a mistake — and you would be well served to do that a few times. You want to get it wrong as much as you want to get it right, because those errors are essential to the creative process, and the self-creative process. Remember all the time that you are integrating intellectual integrity and beauty. Keep an eye on how things work and how they look, following the maxim “function precedes form” (or if you prefer, “form follows function”). You are on the brink of something both excellent and relevant. Let it happen.

Delta of Venus: Pisces and the Virgo Full Moon

Dear Friend and Reader:

As we approach the Virgo Full Moon, we move deep into the heart of Pisces. The 12th and most mysterious sign of the zodiac, the Virgo Moon this weekend will reflect that sublime light back to us and maybe it will be easier to see and feel. Or to hear: I’ve got a new musical composition to share with you.

Venus enters Pisces on Thursday, which adds some substance to soft and sensitive Pisces: another earthy element to the chart to help feel the tangible side of Pisces. Before that happens, Venus clears the last degrees of Aquarius, fulfilling its dharma in that sign as goddess-avatar.

Weekly Horoscope #264 for Pisces

Pisces

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — Now more than ever, the people around you are a reflection of who you are. To a greater or lesser extent this is always true, though at the moment the effect is particularly strong — with rich potential. This is a holographic property of the universe: our minds and personal experiences are inseparable from the environment that surrounds us. Yet you have a special gift right now, and if you can tap into it, that will make up for much that has been vexing you the past few years. So it would be well worth your time and effort to make a study of your inner environment. At the same time, look for sources of both cooperation and conflict in your external environment. Study the ways that you connect with people, or not, and align your inner life with your seeming outer life. For now, reality will flow from the inside out, so the deeper your introspection, the more you will learn. Think of the outer world as a kind of analogy. Practice saying things to yourself, and then expressing them outwardly. Soon enough, you will get your message right.

The Conspiracy of Wholeness and Healing

Dear Friend and Reader:

I AM HAVING DIFFICULTY going out of my home and office these days. And I know what it is. When I step outside, I enter a world of people involved in some shade of anxiety, fear or terror. I am feeling pretty good. And then I look around at all these anxious eyes peering over burka-like face coverings.

It doesn’t take much knowledge to know that the fear level and reactionary conduct of the government is way beyond appropriate for the situation we are in. I wonder why we need any fear at all when we can take better care of ourselves. The whole point of eating well, resting and drinking clean water is so that you can stay healthy.

New Moon, New Year, New Ideas

Dear Friend and Reader:

We are in a most extraordinary week of Aquarius astrology — the best I’ve ever seen. This means that there will be transits to minor planet configurations in Aquarius that are in the charts of many people born in the 1950s and 1960s.

This New Moon is Asian New Year. For billions of people around the world, this is the time of the year turning over. We are about to begin Chinese year 4719, represented by the Metal Ox. The last Ox year was 2009, the Earth Ox. In Western astrology, the equivalent is Capricorn. We get conventionality, persistence, and dependability.

We are also back to Kala Sarpa Yoga — all the classical planets are set to one side of the lunar nodes. This has the feeling that the stakes are high, and what happens now affects the future.

What does “in silico production” mean?

Malhotra: This is the theoretical production of virus fragments and protein parts. The whole thing suddenly seemed Spanish to me. Added to this was the problem of primary patient isolates. The lab was just busy isolating and sequencing 1,000 Austrian samples. In the process, more and more mutations were coming out. I wondered how there could be so many mutations in a country cluster all at once. It was quite unrealistic. The day came when I was told that my employment contract would not be renewed (4th quarter 2020). That was more or less the starting signal for me — to become even more critical (laughs). On a day when I was very upset, I created a mega thread on Twitter with 124 tweets. In “Corona Ausschuss Nr. 22”, Corona Committee №22, Prof. Dr. Ulrike Kämmerer had explained the problem of Drosten PCR tests. I linked this with my knowledge and tried to explain it for the beginner on Twitter — a mixture of corruption, bioinformatics and the PCR problem. This thread pretty much hit home.

Mercury is retrograde. What do you know?

Mercury stationed retrograde Saturday, and has moved out of the degree where it changed directions. We are underway for the first Trickster-Goes-Backwards in Aquarius during the Aquarian era. All the usual caveats of Mercury retrograde apply: be careful what you sign. Delay what you can, and take the time for due diligence.

We are now in an age where group dynamics are more influential than ever, though most of it is going on in the invisible environment: the digital realm, where you’re unlikely to know which way is up because there is no such thing.

Realtime Experiment in Aquarius Astrology

Dear Friend and Reader:

This month we’ll experience a real-time test of Aquarius astrology. This begins with an unusual Full Moon in Leo, followed by retrograde Mercury in Aquarius through Feb. 20. Mercury will be retrograde close to Jupiter, Saturn and the important asteroid Pallas (related to politics and law). Mercury is going to backtrack into this territory, which can serve like a review. (Mercury retrograde is the time to finish things rather than start them.)

It presents an opportunity to see things from another direction, view them internally, and to expose what may have been previously overlooked. Mercury retrograde in Aquarius represents an individual expressing dissenting views from those of the tribe.

Chart for the inauguration by Lanvi Nguyen.

The Impeachment and the Inauguration: A Snapshot from the Family Album of the United States

“Religion and nationalism, as well as any custom and any belief, however absurd and degrading, if only it connects the individual with others, are refuges from what man most dreads: isolation.”

Erich Fromm (1900-1980), Escape From Freedom

FOR MORE THAN A YEAR, I had the chart for the 2021 presidential inauguration hanging over the toilet in my studio bathroom. This was in the early days of the Trump administration. This placement ensured that I looked at the chart several times a day, because I knew it would take some time to figure out.

It was difficult to get a read on what was obviously the horoscope of a big moment. Now that we are within days or hours of the inauguration, it makes more sense.

One salient feature of this chart — a thing that makes the day distinctive — is the conjunction of Mars and Uranus in Taurus — Mars, the fiery god of war and desire, and Uranus the god of awakening, invention, revolution and provocation. Their combination in Taurus is explosive, and cautionary on the first day of a presidential administration. It is unpredictable in a potentially dangerous way.

There is violence in this chart, and a seeming revolutionary spirit that can go quite wrong to the point of total backfire.

Impression of Kala Sarpa Yoga by Lanvi Nguyen

Kala Sarpa Yoga, the Capricorn New Moon and the United States Pluto Return

Dear Friend and Reader:

An extremely rare condition will be in effect for the New Moon and the presidential inauguration in the U.S.. It has come in and out of focus since around the time of the Sagittarius eclipse, when the Sun crossed the South Node.

It’s called Kala Sarpa Yoga. In Jyotish astrology there are many yogas or types of patterns. One of the rarest is when all of the classical planets are to one side of the lunar nodes. As you can see, for the Capricorn New Moon overnight Tuesday to Wednesday, all of the classical planets, all of the modern planets (Chiron, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Eris) and several other points are to one side of the nodes.

This is an especially influential New Moon as it is conjunct Pluto, at the time of the United States Pluto return.

It will be in effect on either side of the nodes, though from Rahu (the North Node) to Ketu (the South Node, as we have here) is said to be the more potent side.
