The world is about to go through a massive transformation, which will not be obvious until March. However, you can have a head start by fully engaging your ideas and your aspirations — and resolving to stop at nothing. The joke is that the 5th is, by topic, about playing, making art, sex for fun, and any activity associated with gambling or taking a risk. Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — What and where is home? This has been a restless concept for you in recent years — where home is physically, how you feel there, whether you have one, and ultimately whether it’s about who or where. The epic conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune takes place in your solar 4th house, Pisces, which has several connotations, all circling the topic of security. Or perhaps under the influence of Neptune, we might say sly insecurity, and a sensation of something akin to how oil and water do not mix. They might fit in the same bottle, and you can shake them up, though is that really about a true sense of belonging? This extends beyond your four walls to your sense of place and purpose on the planet itself. This whole topic is about a phase of your life, which dates back to around April 2011, when Neptune’s transit of Pisces began, and continues to the present day. It’s difficult enough to have Pisces involved with the 4th house of your four walls. It is a spiritual matter: no thing or structure can result in a sensation of being grounded. The assurance must come from a deep source, and a cosmic orientation. Sagittarius often gets props for being the most philosophical and even mystical sign, and to the extent that is true, it involves your “grounding” being invested in another ethereal sign, the last sign. Your only true safety, your only true belonging, is in your faith. Yet this has a tangible and practical dimension: your actual place in the world must have the feeling and the direct experience of opportunity. For example, the qualities of the rooms serving your needs; quality of work you do when you’re there; the community; or how you feel. Wherever and with whomever, the real you must have the freedom to take root.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — Feeling safe, secure and protected are nice, though they don’t usually result in much success or personal growth. And such sensations are often an illusion. Yet excess of strife, irritation or conflict are not helpful, though of the two, most people find mental and emotional conflict to be more ‘inspiring’. They often seem more real, or necessary; at least you can document their existence. I suggest doing some sorting out here. There is a split in your chart, right along the imaginary line that divides the mental and the emotional. Yet in this equation, the negative will tend to dominate, unless you are able to get a handle on it. Fortunately, there is a filtering process going on, and this will help you set some priorities. For this to work in your favor, here is what I suggest: recognize every point of tension or conflict as a point of decision — and don’t shy away from the need to make a conscious choice. It is too easy to pretend you don’t really need to do anything, and the pressure will come off sooner or later without you needing to do or decide much. Yet your learning process now is about getting a handle on making decisions, and recognizing why this is such an urgently necessary skill. Though few people like it; few have the gumption to confront life so directly as one does when it all comes down to making a choice about something that really matters. So I suggest you practice, on matters large and small. Keep asking yourself: what are my options here? What hurts me and what hinders me? What helps someone important to me, and what hinders them? Moreover, the real question is: what is the basis of my decision? On what grounds am I making these determinations? Those are called values, and honoring yours is essential at this time.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — Powerful forces are conditioning you to rethink the way you think. This will come with a combination of figuring out you were wrong about some things, right about other things, and more curious than you thought you were about other things. Why the confusion? You tend to be more driven by your emotions than by cognition. This is masked over by the fact of having an extremely busy mind, yet typically, you surf on water, rather than on air or fire. You are now being called to make a decision using your mind. This may feel strange, because to focus on the mental plane, there is a degree to which you may need to set aside other forms of psychic movement, at least temporarily. Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — You are finally experiencing a surge of confidence, and this will help you get out of various stuck places, and to advance your life in many other ways. Pisces is involved, and I often think of the expression take caution of confidence coming from your feet. That’s the sensation of feeling fabulous because you’re wearing brand-new hiking boots. So, feel good, and while you’re at it, take care of your home — and treat any space you may occupy as such. Then, draw your courage up to your heart-center, and let it flow out through your hands. In all of the above references, I’m talking about the influence of Pisces — which rules the hands as well as the feet, and your hands are a much better place to invest your confidence. You can and do make things with them, and if you don’t, now is an excellent time to start. There are two other places to invest your energy. One is rethinking your approach to your finances. You can be extremely clever with money, if you are not so cautious about it. Over the next few weeks, you’ll have a series of opportunities for what to do with your resources, which extend from money to any tools you may have at your disposal. These would include material objects as well as applying your existing and even forgotten or sidelined personal gifts and talents to new purposes. Right now, everything you have matters, and how you use it matters. Aspects in Capricorn (your sign of personal resources) describe taking an inventory of all that you have. This would correctly include everything from things you could do naturally as a kid, merit badges you earned in scouting, odd talents like finding lost objects, and everything you learned on every job. And one last thing: you are a literate person. Work with that: read and write as a daily practice. You’re going to need these things, and remembering them will make you feel good. However, where money is concerned, you are in a special moment. Study your spending patterns. Make every decision meticulously. If you have account books or profit and loss statements, look at them. You will gain much in the process.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — Most people are carrying around the residue of damage that they have not given a name to, and of which they may only be dimly aware. Those who are aware may write off their early history as something in the past, or without consequences. Others may forget. Yet often the past lives on, its effects trickling or flooding into the present time — as if from nowhere special. You may be surprised the next few weeks as elements of your past bubble to the surface and seek your attention. You might remember memories that feel like déjà vu, where you wonder if the feeling is real or a trick of the mind. You don’t need to go digging; rather, notice what arrives in your field of attention, and hang out with it for a while. These could involve memories from your own life or those of your immediate ancestors, of which you have no prior knowledge. You may see your past in a way you never have before. Should any of this be true, I suggest you observe it like a movie, rather than springing into any form of blame or accusation. That is not the point. Your response is more important than what may have happened. Anger is not blame; regret is not blame; wishing things were different is not blame — so you have options. The idea is to work your feelings out, not dig yourself deeper. And in the event of recalling experiences that are not specifically your own, you will need a way to acknowledge and observe your memories and your responses without making matters worse. The planet involved is Nessus, the third centaur. With Nessus, a number of factors may show up, including haze around the meaning of events and uncertainty about who is responsible. The way to work with this is to allow your doubts and questions to stand, without needing to jump to conclusions. Ultimately, you take responsibility for your own experience — not for what others did, or what happened to them. This is the thing to remember.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — Mars in your sign is allowing you to think of complicated matters in a fairly simple way. Borrowing a line from A Course in Miracles, only the truth is true, and nothing else matters. However, there may be a mob of people in your mind claiming that there is no truth, and if there is one, it’s not the one that you have. (This eruption of absurdity is mostly the result of digital conditions, where nothing really makes sense, and whoever buys the most Google ads wins.) I’m not describing a mental state, but rather a spiritual one. It’s the sense of being guided, and at the same time, motivated to act on your guidance. True religion is not a matter of what you believe. It is about what you do. In particular, it’s what you do when faced with various ugly problems in the world, rather than what you do on a ‘good day’. True faith has the ability to see beyond those problems without denying them. True faith contains the strength to persist at what you value the most, and to offer yourself to those you love the most. Both of these involve your determination to express your whole life in a creative way. At the moment, you may be feeling some tension about what you’re supposed to think versus what you absolutely must express. There is no debate here about what is the counterfeit object and what is the real thing. Creative expression means that you can state your reality without passing it through internal censors, or getting the approval of the committee chairman. You have your own ideas, and many factors, including the retrograde of Mercury in Aquarius, urging you to pursue them regardless of their lack of popularity. If you feel you’re taking a risk, that’s a clue you’re going in the right direction, or at least an exciting one.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — You may go through a phase of recognizing all the irritating, irresponsible or horrid stuff you’ve inherited from your family. Whether it is one or the other will depend on your situation, though be aware that there is going to be a magnifying effect that will largely serve to make you aware of the bad and the ugly rather than the good. This may involve a diversity of issues, including childhood environmental conditions, whether psychic or physical. And this would include matters that you are aware of today, and ones that you are not. These and other developments through the spring can help you call attention to something crucial, which is how you tend to survive by denying what you feel, particularly when it is in some way disturbing to your peace of mind. It will help to have a different approach, particularly if you get the sense that there’s something deep inside you that is a persistent source of emotional chaos. The spiritual exercise of the moment is recognizing that there are consequences of events that come back to you, yet you may have no direct association with where they originate. That point of origin is not necessarily about you — that is the good news. However, to resolve this, you will need to be scrupulously honest with yourself, and this is not easy for most humans. You can make a little map of your reality by noticing every time someone brings up something specific and you change the topic. That is a conscious act, and deserves to be recorded in your mental log. Being willing to have the discussion is another matter, though that is more likely to happen when you reach a point where you cannot go any further without it. Most people choose to learn through pain rather than willingly. This is not necessary; but, whatever works for you.
