Today’s horoscope is based on a diversity of astrological developments. Here are a few of the details.
Most significantly, the approaching Full Moon in Scorpio is a total eclipse. It happens overnight Sunday to Monday (just past midnight EDT Monday), and will be visible across the Americas (and from some points in Europe and Africa) wherever the sky is clear.
Quite a bit has happened since the April 30 Taurus solar eclipse conjunct Albion (1992 QB1).
Mercury has stationed retrograde in its domicile Gemini (that lasts through June 3). That placement suggests there’s so much that we do not say, and need to. In Gemini, the retrograde has an especially introspective quality, and evokes the idea of an idioglossia, the secret language of twins.
Jupiter has entered Aries, starting a new 12-year cycle. Earth-Goddess Ceres has entered the sign of mothers and of women generally, Cancer. It is also in aspect to the Aries Point, which emphasizes how this placement contains many ideas that resound through society.
Because Cancer’s ruling body, the Moon, is eclipsed, there will be many references back to this Ceres placement and its diversity of concepts: relationships between mothers and daughters; the relationship between food and emotional reality; and food generally.

There is something more significant going on right now: Venus is currently forming a conjunction to Chiron. This distinctly sexual aspect is happening concurrently with a total eclipse of the Moon in Scorpio, the house of sexual secrets.
Aries (March 20-April 19) — Jupiter has arrived in your sign, which can have many potential effects. Once when Jupiter crossed my ascendant, I won two jackpots in Reno in one day. The key was, I saw this coming and knew innately not to play until after I had returned from Burning Man, not before. Jupiter will enlarge whatever it touches, and responds well to readiness and preparation. So let’s leave Jupiter in the background for now. There is something more significant going on right now: Venus is currently forming a conjunction to Chiron. This distinctly sexual aspect is happening concurrently with a total eclipse of the Moon in Scorpio, the house of sexual secrets. And on the rare occasion of a total eclipse, that translates to secrets revealed. The combination of factors is urging you to be especially direct and honest with people you consider intimate, and those in whom you are interested. The chances are that any withholds (things you have not said) are going to come out one way or another. You are in a far stronger position overall if you take control of the process and disclose your reality on your own terms. This includes the full spectrum of possibilities, including disclosing attractions that may not be “appropriate” but are certainly genuine. Be bold and be real.

Taurus does not usually like change. I’ve had lots of you in my life, and I know you prefer to stay put and stay in the same relationship.
Taurus (April 19-May 20) — It can be harrowing to experience an eclipse in your opposite sign (involving relationships), particularly of the Moon — a planet closely associated with your sign. However, herein lies the clue. Whatever is happening is more likely about you than it is about someone else. See through the charade of existence and recognize that your whole life is about you. However, where a relationship is concerned, it is your own growth process that initiates the changes. The sign and house placement are the context; the Moon is about you. (For technical reference, as the planet exalted in Taurus, it is one of your most important significators. The little crescent above the circle in your sign glyph is the horns of the bull, and also depicts the Moon.) Taurus does not usually like change. I’ve had lots of you in my life, and I know you prefer to stay put and stay in the same relationship. Yet reality forever changes, at least for those of us on the time ride. If you allow change, you will be facilitating your growth process rather than resisting it. You may be inclined to deny just how profound this moment is for you, as the big event — your ruling planet Venus conjunct Chiron — is happening in an angle of your chart you may be the least inclined to notice, yet where it can have the most profound effects. Try to figure out what you do not know. Be especially alert to things you think you know, but which are not correct, or not founded on some basis in factual reality.
Gemini (May 20-June 21) — Mercury just stationed retrograde in your sign, and has a long way to go before it turns to direct motion. A lot is happening, and you may be tempted to make big decisions based on what you are witnessing, and what you think you know. I strongly suggest putting everything on a one-month delay. We’ve all seen this lots of times — at the end of Mercury retrograde we are in totally different circumstances, and wish we made better decisions. This is not about magic. It’s about what you discover. The very essence of Mercury stations is what comes out; what is revealed; what you discover. Mercury moving backwards both through your sign and soon, through your 12th house Taurus, is saying: there is plenty you’re about to discover. Therefore, I suggest you take the slow approach to decisions, and the novelist’s approach to life. Or, borrowing a bit from someone I don’t like much, but still value this idea: identify the known unknowns, and be on the alert for the unknown unknowns. Try to figure out what you do not know. Be especially alert to things you think you know, but which are not correct, or not founded on some basis in factual reality. This can call for an easy-to-acquire courage, known as being willing to be wrong. Thinking you’re right when you are not always leads to problems, and this is a much better alternative.

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — Lunar eclipses mean more for you than they do for nearly anyone else, and one is about to happen. This one takes place in your 5th house, which says, at minimum, that you need to have more fun. So as you get opportunities to redesign your life, remember that. Scorpio, the scene of the eclipse, has a serious tone in contrast to the playful nature of the 5th house. This is not mitigated by intelligence, and only barely touched by experience. Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — There is a theme running through my interpretations of the eclipse: many of the signs have something big happening in their 5th house. This is the angle associated with fun, games, gambling, risky adventures, sex and art. Sagittarius now has the biggest thing of all in this house: your ruling planet Jupiter, which entered Aries earlier this week. At the same time, Venus, the planet of love and beauty, and Chiron, the planet of healing, are forming a conjunction — just hours before the total eclipse of the Moon in Scorpio. So there are many forms of emphasis on the 5th, which is saying, stay focused on yourself and what you want to create. You are probably already doing some of your best work. Stay close to the pleasure of creating. As for the eclipse, it takes place in your already cryptical 12th house, with many layers of mystery added to by the darkening of the Moon in Scorpio. Think of this as letting off some intense psychic pressure that has been building over the years. Usually this manifests as fear, which you may only notice like the obnoxious leaf blower that is suddenly turned off. Not being bound by an urgent need to conform means you can think what you think, unfettered by “public opinion.” That is the source of all accuracy. Or as the late, great Daily News columnist Jimmy Breslin said, “When you see a crowd, go the other way.” This eclipse offers you an opening, if you want to connect to the wisdom of doing exactly that. This is what it means to “deal with your parents” or to take ownership of their influences, and what you think they think about you. This makes it easier, not more difficult, to address the problems involved. Most of what you struggle with is not your own. It does not actually come from you. This is particularly true of what seems to involve your parents. Yet it’s impossible to see as long as you project them outward in any form. The forthcoming Scorpio eclipse is giving you the opportunity to move a raft of karma, though you must recognize it as your own before you can hand it back to where it came from.
