Belief subverts curiosity; once you believe something, why look any further? Among the many influences in your sign is the slow-mover Borasisi, the little planet named for the Kurt Vonnegut novel Cat’s Cradle. The novel explores the idea that many truths conceal deception and many seeming lies contain a fertile seed of truth. So we can even go beyond the question of is this true or not, to what purpose does this idea serve? I realize that people who don’t like to think or don’t want to bother will not have much use for this idea. It will be as useful as a knife when you really need one.

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — One of the sticking points of your sign is preferring not to take the risk of expressing your feelings in words. Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) —
Your professional aspirations require you to uncouple yourself from history, from precedent and from your deeply ingrained personality tendencies. If you do this, you may feel unmoored from your reality and therefore unstable; and that would probably be an accurate description. I propose such would be beneficial. Yet the thing you’re most invested in is a kind of relationship where your identity depends on affirmation from another person. It’s one thing to be involved with someone and it’s something else to feel like you don’t exist without them. Is this language too strong? Or maybe it’s really not so bad? I don’t know; that’s for you to discover. You surely need room to maneuver, and especially to make financial choices that don’t involve whether another person says yes or no. You also need the freedom to have whatever friends you want, and have whatever conversation you want. And only you can offer this to yourself.

Anyone who succeeds at anything, especially those who display excellence in some form, is likely to attract a measure of envy, jealousy or competitiveness for its own sake. Aspire to great things and at the same time work with the devotion and focus of an artist. Do not invite others to see your work before it’s done, and I don’t suggest you talk about your plans with anyone other than those who are directly involved. Our culture only pretends to like originality and then does little to support it. You are an original, and this quality is at a peak right now. Skip the games and stick to your canvas.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — For as creative and bold as you’ve been all year, it’s been difficult to ground your ideas in serious work or tangible accomplishments. It’s been difficult to support steady routines and on the whole there is way too much digital and far too little nature. You will get a taste of a different possibility when the distinctly Sagittarian planet Chiron makes its way into Taurus in three weeks. This lasts most of (northern hemisphere) summer, and then returns again next April. The message stands today: focus on one important priority. Yes, you have more than one, but as part of learning about and mastering the skill of prioritization, pick one thing and focus on it. Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) —
