It’s Happening Again — Introduction to Sept. 24 Horoscope
Dear Friend and Reader:
Today’s Planet Waves horoscope — the only paid subscriber horoscope in the internet — describes the Aries Full Moon, and Mars square Chiron.
We live in the world surrounded by messages. The problem with propaganda is that most people don’t recognize it. It’s disguised as an important message you must take seriously, or as a new development that will make your life wonderful, or something within a technology that you cannot see and don’t know about.
This weekend’s Full Moon aligns with three different points that caution against believing what is not true. But this can only work if you notice it. And this requires the special skill of knowing when you don’t know. And — as is happening in both professional astrology and Silicon Valley — recognizing when a cult is taking over.
While the Full Moon has a freewheeling, no-tomorrow kind of feeling, there is caution urged in Mars square Chiron (in the last degrees of Cancer and Aries, respectively). While this aspect can describe having too much integrity, or the refusal to take necessary risks, in Saturday’s chart, it’s more about practical common sense.

You are free to follow along with whatever seems the most controversial or provocative, though this is unlikely to have a positive result for anyone. If one of the great life lessons for Aries is patience, that translates to patience with yourself more than with anyone or anything else. Patience is not a passive state; it’s not about waiting. Really living calls for you to participate with your world and learn from your experiences. Taurus (April 19-May 20) — You are the ultimate mystery; there is no other, because you perceive everything through yourself. That’s the message of this week’s Full Moon in your sensitive 12th solar house. Consciousness has difficulty perceiving itself, and that’s what the coming Full Moon is about for you. With Neptune so directly involved, your primary task is sorting out what is true from what is not. This will require scrupulous honesty. By that, I mean self-doubt, forgetting you exist and then being angry when you remember, and emphasizing relationships with others above your relationship to yourself. Gemini (May 20-June 21) — You don’t need to think about how anyone might respond to what you say or do; you merely need to play with your crayons, paints or guitar. It really is that easy. However, you are likely to run into some old bumps or bruises that were inflicted when you were a kid. Cancer (June 21-July 22) — We live in the world of illusions, and to succeed, you will need to become something of an illusionist. The digital environment has pushed everyone into being their own publicist, though you need to take this further. A level of mastery will be involved, or at least aspiration. Even when you present the truth of who you are, in a realistic way that does not exaggerate, it’s still a creative act. I’ve always found this interesting and telling about Leo, because it suggests that your true spiritual path is self-actualization. You don’t need ministers, churches, sacred temples or the Great Pyramid. You need to be true to yourself — and that is the bottom line of any sacred journey. For you, it’s the top, the bottom, the middle, the first and the last. And in our era, overwhelmed in image and glamor, the most difficult to be true to. Yet it’s easier if you know that sooner or later you’re going to get there; and sooner means happier because that’s the only way to truly live.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — The Full Moon in Aries will give you a sense of how you really feel. You may decide you were totally deluding yourself and you knew all along and didn’t want to admit it. Alternately, you may decide that your situation is perfect and that any of your doubts were just an exaggeration. Or, you may have had an idealistic view and come to the conclusion that when you tune in with your body, you know something is off. For these and other reasons, you will benefit from reflecting on how you’ve felt over a stretch of several years. Remember your points of maximum frustration. Consider what you want to do that you presently cannot do — make sure the list is complete. Sum up the times when you tried to have a conversation with someone on an important topic and they were just not interested, or refused to see your point of view. Is there actual honesty in the relationship, or merely coexistence? That is the bottom line.

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — The forthcoming Full Moon in your opposite sign Aries will be a little like driving with your lights on high bright in a fog. While you’re doing this, you have the radio on, and you’re just stunned by the kinds of things people are saying. It’s like everyone speaking is high on some drug, or you’re caught in the middle of a David Lynch film. Drop your lights to low beam, slow down, keep driving and maybe turn off the radio. Open the windows and listen for actual sounds coming from the outside environment. And most of all, listen to yourself. I will repeat what I said last week, because it’s really a message connected to the Full Moon conjunct Neptune and Borasisi: never believe something because someone else believes it. And never follow the car in front of you. Keep your eyes directly on the road. Pull over and wait for the fog to clear, if you must. It won’t be long.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — This week’s Full Moon occurs in your fellow Mars-ruled sign Aries. If you have been having doubts or feeling insecure about work, this lunar event will do one of two things: you will either have an inflammation of doubt, or you will see through your own emotional responses and recognize your leadership talent for what it is. Seen one way, you walk the line between being self-sacrificing and wanting to make a good living. But beneath that seeming dichotomy, and beneath your doubts, you are profoundly devoted to what you do, in the sense of what you consider your daily work. It’s just who you are. Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — The only problem you have is your insecurity, though you cannot act your way out of this one. You need to figure out what it takes for you to feel safe. Imagine that you’re alive back in the hunter-gatherer days and all you have is a stone ledge or a cave that is mostly open to the elements. You barely know how to make fire and there is a lot of competition for a little watering hole. You eat when you can kill something or find a few berries. You might define safe as being under a solid roof with heat and food in the house. If you do that, you will find that the real safety issues are in your mind. Most of them are not based in reality. Your most important need is privacy and space to reflect.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — The challenge of relationships, in our unruly and misunderstood era of history, is how to handle the growth and change of the individuals who are involved. The usual situation is that one or both people compromise their evolutionary process for the sake of the relationship. Sometimes one person is required to hold themselves back for the benefit of the other. But in the long run, this is possible only in the neighborhood of make-believe. Temporary tradeoffs are possible, such as I’ll take care of the kids while you get a master’s degree. But this must be seen as temporary. What I’m talking about is closer to addressing the drive for self-actualization. Relationships can be designed so that both partners’ evolutionary drives are accommodated. In truth this makes the difference between a relationship that works and one that does not.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) —
The Aries Full Moon on the 26th stretches across the financial sectors of your solar chart, and you must hold off before making any determinations of what is true, false, fair, unfair, right or wrong until then. Over the following week, as the Sun approaches an opposition to Saturn, you will get to a place of clarity, and if you’re paying attention, you can set some limits. You are all too willing to work for what is rightly yours and then experience others getting most of the benefits. This is a testament to your spiritual and self-sacrificing nature. Yet you’re at the point in your growth and in your life where it will feel good to take control of that and set your own terms and conditions. Then you express them, and after that, negotiation is what follows next. And that’s a two-way boulevard.
