Check back ten, twenty or even 28 years, to get perspective on what calls for resolution in your experience now. The key to navigating this powerful transition period is deliberately tapping the strong connection, evident in your birthday chart, to your emotional guidance system and intuition. Intentional focus on your physical and emotional wellbeing is equally important. The more conscious you are of what’s driving frustration or anxiety, the less stress will land on your precious body.

Written in the Planets for Tuesday, Jan. 7
As you may have heard, this week ends with a Cancer Full Moon eclipse on Jan. 10, and the transformative conjunction of Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn on Jan. 12 (read more here and here). While you may be feeling this as a lot of pressure, one of our Capricorn readers recently described it as “both grounded and elevating at the same time.”
Capricorn being an earth sign, ‘grounded’ makes sense. With many planets in Cap, the sky is emphasizing things like structure, responsibility, and the ability to use boundaries constructively. Earth signs tend to accentuate the tangible facets of experience.
Where does the ‘elevating’ piece come in? For one thing, both the eclipse process and the Saturn-Pluto conjunction describe freeing up the space needed for new growth. If you’ve been trying to release something, de-clutter, complete a project or otherwise move and clear some energy, you may already be feeling some associated lightness.
Jupiter’s presence in Capricorn is offering just enough outward push to balance some of Cap’s rigidity. It might feel like ambition. The more you can clarify some steps toward a goal or vision for your life, while fulfilling your day-to-day responsibilities, the better you’ll be able to use this week’s energy.
Not everyone is having an easy time of this, however. If you are struggling, do please remember that you are not alone. Be gentle with yourself, and with others this week. Pay attention to your mental activity: how your thoughts make you feel, and how your emotions influence the stories you tell yourself.
You possess more power to shift your perspective than you may realize, yet we all need a little help with this at times. Whose influence always feels supportive and open? What activities leave you feeling more energized, more grounded, or more capable? These are the people and pursuits to make contact with this week, even if only a little.
