Saturn Enters Aries — Achtung, Baby

Good afternoon –

On Friday, the mighty Saturn — guardian of the edge of the solar system, and the outermost planet until 1781 — turns over a new cycle by entering Aries. The first thing it does is form a conjunction to Neptune — the current official foggy edge of the solar system — the first since 1989. This is a real moment, though for many reasons, you might not be feeling it.

But there’s a good chance you are and don’t know it.

In this week’s article, I describe the New Berlin Wall, which is digital consciousness. You know, the “bubble” effect. Everyone in their “silo.” Everything happening as part of a little tribe or cult, or “compartmentalized.”

Why the Berlin Wall? Well, the last time Saturn and Neptune kissed, the wall fell down, was breached, smashed with hammers and carted off somewhere in dump trucks. I write about the nature of consciousness in our time and how to think of your own existence, your self, in our time of digital overwhelm.

In the Starcast episode above (the third of this week), I describe the astrology and also look at the missing element in every single discussion of “artificial intelligence” that I hear, which is the omission of what it’s already done to us and to society.

Planet Waves Weekly for Feb. 12, 2026 — By Eric Francis

Aries (March 20-April 19) — It’s difficult to have a firm concept of who you are when there are thousands of external influences trying to define you — and often succeeding. Yet the truth only emerges from your inner being. And for that, you need a boundary between inner and outer. Such is the theme of Saturn entering your birth sign Friday, where it will be until 2028. In the physical body, Saturn represents two important concepts, needed for survival on Planet Earth: bones, and skin. Saturn provides both internal structure and external containment. Often associated with walls, the more important concept is the permeable boundary. With Neptune already in your sign (that lasts until 2039), you will be extra-porous, and you need to continuously have a sense of where you end and others begin. And then learn to work that border zone effectively. This will take constant attention and emotional discipline.

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — All of the planetary action is now focused on the sign before your own, Aries. This has a special place in your psychic makeup: it says that the “true you” is tucked out of the way of the world, something that only you know about. It describes a hesitancy around being vulnerable and a deeply protective sense of how you feel. Yet at times, you lose yourself. And right now, all the forces of the universe are conspiring to have you find and discover and know yourself. On its own, this may create a sense of vulnerability; part of how you survive emotionally is to conceal certain things from yourself, which can now no longer be denied. There is a truth to who you are, and you are discovering yourself whether you want to or not. The time has arrived

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — There is an old expression: we don’t see the world as it is. We see it as we are. The 2026 Extravaganza has not come to Gemini yet; that happens in late April, when Uranus enters your sign. Yet what is developing now is affecting your state of mind, which seems to be changing in kaleidoscopic fashion every day. This isn’t so much about content (specific thoughts, language, media exposure) as it is about your idea of who you are. Your self-perception is changing. Your observations of the world are filtered through your ideas about yourself first, and that is most of what you see. When you understand that, it’s easier to account for this effect and to look beyond it. Yet you must be aware of your own inner trip, and keep track of your biases. Whoever designed the human mind did so without accounting for vast areas of blind spot, which include mistaking the difference between believing and understanding.

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — You may feel like your career is in freefall. That is understandable enough, given that events in your professional/reputation house look like a warehouse being renovated into a movie studio. You will feel more stable when Saturn enters Aries Friday, where it will be transiting for the next two years. It’s fair to say you’re entering the most important professional development stage of your life in many years. This follows years of chaos and confusion, and a world that seems to be remade every day. The rapidly developing astrology in this angle of your chart, meaning of your life, is calling on you to have a vision (Neptune), and then to take concrete steps to build that vision (Saturn). Other factors are urging you to see yourself in the context of the wider world, and to remember that you are a distinct entity with your own talents, and your own definition of success. Make sure you know what it is.

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — Quite a storm is blowing through the solar system right now, and it’s located in the angle of your chart associated with all things spiritual. This includes your relationship to God or the cosmos; where you travel on the planet; and your desire to learn. The message: learn about yourself. This cannot be replaced by memes and TikToks. It cannot be replaced by the advice of born-yesterday self-help gurus. While everyone has a limited concept of who they are, which leads to a limited concept of what the world is, you need to stretch yours in every direction. Learning about oneself is difficult for people who don’t want to give up their incorrect ideas about their existence. The ego has zero curiosity and is only capable of fear and guilt. And this, it thinks of as a comfort zone, when clearly it is not. Curious about yourself is a good start. Flexible and honest with yourself are next.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — Every person exists in relationship to other people, and to a kind of framework of agreements that lodges them in society. Those relationships and those agreements are what is changing for you, and changing fast. But do you understand the nature of the contracts you’re in? Can you describe the nature of your relationships? Saturn entering Aries on Friday will compel you to draw the line between “what is mine and what is yours.” Moreover, you will need to draw the line between “what is me and what is you” and “what I want and what you want.” You are accustomed to a form of relationship that calls for total investment or unlimited partnership. I don’t think this is going to work for you in the future. I don’t think it’s worked for you in the past, but hope has sprung eternal whereas now, at long last, the reality principle is clearly in play.

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — You’re looking right at the great wave that is crashing over the world, though you must remind yourself that as long as you pay attention, you’re safe. Not only are you safe, but in a unique position to take advantage of the vast movements and rearrangements of existence. This starts with your relationships. You must be clear about what you want and what you expect, and proceed on that basis. And you will need to ask, insist or demand that others be clear with you about their expectations of you. At the moment, the whole world is playing an Olympic-sized game of loosey-goosey, which includes a large helping of “whatever I believe is true.” This can never include you. Be aware of the perceptions of others to the best of your ability, and correct people when they are incorrect about you or what you’ve committed to. Above all, do not let anyone else define your potential or set limits on your success.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — It seems like every time you think something, or write something, there is an editor trying to control what you say. Who exactly is this? How did they get there? All writers go through some process of kicking the censors out of their head. For you, they tend to be related to your family, and impressing them with what a good boy or good girl you are. They wage their control and deceit using guilt as their most effective tool, and it must become your warning sign that you are under the thrall of someone or something besides yourself. Once you feel guilt, stop and ask where it’s coming from. Identify the probable source, by name or by situation. Almost always, it will be a relative, who in some form earlier in your life was either trying to brainwash you or con you out of your feelings and your ideas. You have plenty of your own, and they are worth knowing and developing.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — Among the many wars we’re in the middle of is the War on Trust. Said another way, the war on you trusting your existence; on you trusting yourself. And without your trust in yourself, you have nothing. Then there is this idea going around, a kind of outsized meme repeated thousands of times a day, that nothing is true, nothing is real, nothing happened the way we were told it happened. Look around and you will find a little (or a big) cult centered around “proof” that anything at all is a lie. This is not a values system, and it’s a terrible way to factcheck. You must be your own monitor of what you let into your mind. That means setting aside belief and practicing taking a circumspect approach to thought. And by far the most important element is what you create: what you make as art, what you write, and what you express. Rise to the level of full-strength sincerity.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — You have more fulfilling notions about life than the people who came before you — especially what relationships are about. For a diversity of reasons you had to conceal your desires and ideals, because they threatened people. However, the time has come to live your life your way. True, that time keeps coming. However, now is a time of radical clarification and also of you distinguishing yourself from your past. This is not about pretending it didn’t happen or will go away. Rather, think of your history as another state. It’s your neighbor, you can visit, you can send letters and postcards. You have photos. But it’s not where you live now. The conducting medium of “living now” is emotional. You might have to sort this out every hour or so, and then eventually it will be every day or so. Just keep doing it, and remember what you’ve already addressed.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — Now that everyone has been catapulted into the role of “content creator,” everyone seems to be enamored of what an original artist or thinker they are. This includes little girls lip-syncing and doing the finger dance to someone else’s song to professors who ventilate into YouTube for three hours at a time. If the current astrology is doing one thing in your life, it’s pushing you to think in new ways — for you. You will know that you’re really doing this because the associated feeling will be edgy, daunting, a little scary, and not totally sure of yourself. Follow those thoughts, feelings and responses, because they are part of your creative process. There is no originality without stepping near the edge of the cliff. And this is barely necessary. Using ideas in original ways counts for a lot. So does aspiring to be truthful rather than right.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — Amidst much fanfare this week, Saturn leaves your birth sign, ending a three-year period of rebuilding, re-evaluation and what may have felt like enforced changes. Put a pin in the map where you are now, and also stand in your spot on the planet and look around in all directions. What do you see? What do you feel? What have you learned about yourself in these three years that you’ve been under the influence of Saturn? You have been shaped, formed, squeezed, guided, and persuaded — sometimes with a heavy hand. This transit has taught you how to take leadership in your life and to be more consistent about how you think you are. Now, Saturn joins Neptune in the house associated with your values, your personal constitution and your money. Once again, it’s up to you to make this transit work for you.
