Easy Does It, the PW midyear reading, is a hybrid written and video interpretation that starts with Uranus entering Gemini…this will deliver a jolt to known reality…also I’ll develop Chiron-Eris and the Aries Point setup now that I know what they are really about. Preorder now. Delivery is August 1.

Aries (March 20-April 19) — Tame your self-criticism and you will be unstoppable. To review, critique and improve your skills is not what I’m talking about. Study your intent, your emotional feeling-tone and your sense of time. Anything that feels like attack, guilt or resentment is what I mean by self-criticism, and this will feel narrow and, usually, immediate. It will pertain to something that just happened — which in the end does not matter at all. Go large. Think on a much longer time scale about the kinds of goals that the people you know don’t even meekly consider. You know that there’s something special about this moment that is beckoning you to step into your full potential. No part of this — exactly zero percent — is about declaring anyone your enemy. Form allegiances, support your friends, stand on common ground, and more than anything, know what you want.
Taurus (April 19-May 20) — You may have a notion that a close partner is exaggerating about something. But you will want to conduct a little inquiry before you come to that determination, which is to say, ask a few questions. They are probably right, and potentially even understating the situation — and are also ready with a solution. You have said you trust this person, so you might want to take their analysis into account. The details matter, even if all you’re hearing is the emotional dimension (which is probably coming from you). There would seem to be some underlying tension in the relationship, rooted in the concept of “how different we are.” That’s not true; what you’re noticing is likely to be a matter of emphasis and compatibility rather than difference.

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — You live for the reasons you live, and stand for your own values. Or do you? Underneath what may seem to be constant re-evaluation, you have a foundation that is as solid as the ocean bed. Yet your underlying principles are useless if you don’t put them into action. Words are great, when words are needed; you are in a deep moment of connecting what you say to what you do. The challenge is that this involves specific details that cannot be glossed over with generalities. Doing a little is not enough; trying is not enough. Be willing to invest yourself in the potentially difficult and attention-demanding tasks that will give meaning to your words and intentions. This means less time “for yourself” but it seems to be something that your “self” both wants and needs.

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — Living well is its own reward, and this includes when you have substantial responsibilities. The solution is not to have “life-work balance” but rather to live in a way that is both meaningful and productive as much of the time as you can. Take pleasure in offering what is expected of you and what you have committed to. Our present society knows little of stepping up to life with the attitude and perspective of a mature adult. Maturity calls for more than going through the motions, which is, sadly, what most people do most of the time. When you find yourself doing that, pause, call yourself to the present and connect with your purpose. If you don’t think you know what that is, stop and ask inwardly — you will get a response.

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — Nearly all emotional struggle is the result of early conditioning. That statement would mean more if we knew what to do about it other than acting in endless reruns and remakes of old shows. The best thing you can do for yourself is not get lured, dragged or shoved into any drama involving your family. See it for the abstraction that it is, despite the impact you seem to feel. Whether or not the original cast members are present, there is a setup for a kind of playback, which could involve anyone. Think of this as time travel, where you get transported back to a prior period, only this time with the judgment, resources and awareness of an adult. That’s the challenge: to rise above the paralysis you felt as a kid and step into the strength and power of decision you possess now.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — Be grateful for the friends you have. Call them up one at a time and thank them; text or email them when you feel your appreciation and gratitude. You will feel better for expressing that you care, and they will feel good receiving your sentiments. Is it not easier to say “I hate” than “I love”? To get from one to the other is a matter of practice and habituation. You are free to do either; you are at liberty to despise all you want, and to love all that you can. However, you have several true and excellent friends who are good to you and who take care of you when you need them. And while they will be supportive in any event, openly stating your thanks and their value to you will be inspiring for everyone. If you’re hesitating, you might ask what you’re holding onto.

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — If you see a professional opportunity, it’s likely the right one. It may be the best thing you’ve ever been offered, certainly in a very long time. Nothing is guaranteed, though there are times when the door to very good things is open — and that’s happening now. If others are hesitating on your behalf, take back that role and make your own decision on your own terms. This might be the opportunity to get out of something as well as to get into something; if so, there’s likely to be a perfect exchange. Yet you must be bold, and stand up for yourself, and assert your competence and your desire. Too many times prioritizing the anxiety and potential jealousy of others has got in your way. Go beyond that, and embrace the freedom to make your choices.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — What is your philosophy of life? You have one; you may not have given it a name, or written it down. However, as your friendly neighborhood salesman of approaches to existence, I can offer a few possible add-ons or perhaps fundamental approaches. “Know when you don’t know” is the most useful idea on this plane of reality. Certainty and clarity are almost always false and misleading. Hold your mind open for missing information, and assume that it exists. “People will tend to treat you as you treat them.” This is a variant on the so-called Golden Rule, which most days seems to be worth its weight in driveway shale, but should be valued as platinum. This is not what you should do; it’s what usually happens, especially with people close to you. Two extras: the world is bigger than you think, and you’re probably 99% incorrect about what you think happened in the past.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — Now would be a wonderful time to repay anyone who has helped you in the past, when you were more in need than you are today. The universe is taking care of you and will continue to do so. You have a degree of freedom that has been difficult to attain, though suddenly it’s a reality. Many of your peers are content to have something other than a fair or equal exchange in their relationships. For growth to occur, there must be a two-way flow. There is a sense of entitlement that has soaked through society that is difficult to look at. Step away from that and do your part in the lives of the people around you — especially close or intimate partners. Be present for them as much as they are available to you. If you want to be real, this is a significant factor.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — A spectacular New Moon in your opposite sign Cancer is an invitation to live fully. This takes courage right now, when it seems like the universe is ready to punish people for relaxing or experiencing any basic creature comfort. The work ethic of the digital world is “never a calm moment,” or else disaster might strike. It’s a cold, edgy, slightly paranoid state of mind — when your soul and the cosmos (not to mention your physical body) are calling you toward warmth and trust. Which will it be? The seemingly natural tendency is to just keep going. Yet this is about suppressing your feelings and your basic need to do things like breathe. Take a moment to let go and drift. Imagine that nothing is expected of you, and that you have no expectations of yourself.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — You have plenty to offer — more than you know, and more than you need personally. Try to see the beauty of that, and explore the possibilities (even though they are not very popular at the moment). I’m here to suggest that you will feel good in a way that you may have forgotten exists — if you invest your energy in being of service. Keep your ears open for people who just need help, and consider responding to any calling. Help someone find their lost cat. Buy coffee for a homeless person. Notice when someone has a problem, and if you can’t solve it for them yourself, find someone who can. The tragedy of the world at this time is that there is plenty to go around. But fear and the sense of time running out are leading people to hunker down when we need one another the very most.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — If you feel called, allow yourself to respond. I’m aware that most of us have so many commitments it seems like there is not a moment to do anything other than what absolutely must be done. Yet nearly everyone wastes time and money like they exist in infinite supply. So in many ways, the sense of demand is an illusion. But you would need to test that to see whether it is true, and that implies doing something different — and choosing purely out of preference. Not efficiency, and not connected to a goal, but exploring the feeling and texture of your emotions just because you can. Creating something because you want to. Noticing that you’re alive when there are so many other voices trying to get your attention. You really can afford to slow down.
