Weekly Horoscope #1,572 for Aug. 14, 2025 by Eric Francis, with Starcast.

Aries (March 20-April 19) — Mercury moving in direct motion is reminding you that the only solution is a creative one. Creative means either using existing factors in an innovative way, or coming up with something new that nobody ever thought of — and the two concepts are related. However, you must continue to be your own best ally and contributor and make no decisions that block your own best efforts. You will also be tempted into seeming solutions that involve competition, when all positive indicators describe collaboration and cooperation. The best solution really involves finding the greatest good for all concerned. This is not usually considered a thing on a planet where there are only winners and losers. This is why you must bring your most elegant creative gift to the situation and go through each step, rather than thinking you know something when you do not.

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — This would be a most excellent moment to open up to someone about your sexual truth. I don’t mean trauma and I don’t mean a political perspective. I mean owning and revealing who you are and what you want; and then putting it into words in an intimate situation. Not on X or Instagram or whatever, but rather in a one-to-one situation where you know someone has the option to help you act on it. You will know you’re moving in the right direction because you feel embarrassed. You could see this as a reason to deflect or veer away, or you could experience it as an invitation to go through the veil and experience what is on the other side. The veil conceals pleasure, it conceals healing and it conceals your release from ideas about yourself that you struggle with nearly all the time.

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — You’re in a zone where you can channel your words, your ideas and your visions without resistance. You’re being given creative ability far beyond your usual potential — but it’s all coming from you. Consciously orient yourself and give yourself permission to do and to feel as though guided from within. There are times when creative expression benefits from limitations and structure. Then there are others when room to spread out, roam around and be led by your instincts is your best resource — and now is such a time. However, if you’re accustomed to working within constraints, this may feel a little weird. So you need some means of structuring your energy flow, and I suggest you focus on one concept or idea for a while. If you seem to get sidetracked, just come back to where you left off like nothing happened.

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — Sort out the sex you want from the sex you need from that which is doing you no good at all. Once you consider them carefully, the distinctions will be fairly easy to see. This also applies to your use of your creative energy, which almost always comes from your root chakra. Efficiency will get you far, meaning putting the right amount of emphasis on the thing you choose, for the reason you choose it. Let the rest wait, or let go of your involvement. If this involves a person, it’s essential to get their side of the experience so you can filter out any potential misunderstandings. Allow for the potential that you may need to sort out what helps from what hinders, with a little input from your environment. People close to you will be as supportive as you allow them to be.

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — A turbulent, potentially difficult and confusing phase of your life is behind you, though you may still be feeling unsettled. Anger and resentment are especially dangerous right now, because conditions can allow them to take hold as prevailing emotional patterns. Your astrology could be summed up as advising ‘correct speech’, and not just diplomacy, but also seeing mutual interests. Worldview and state of mind are more important than the words that you say. Consciousness in our time is being reduced to a gigantic game where oneself is the only player and everyone else is in a nonparticipating role. That’s not companionship and it’s not intimacy. And beneath any churned-up emotions, conflict or unpredictable events is the desire to be closer. Just remember, this is a skill few people remember or value, and it can feel threatening.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — Too often you’re self-limited by your sense of loss, even when you have plenty to share. There is just one way out of that, which is practicing generosity. This really should be much easier for you, but you get in your own way. That’s your competitive nature, which does not help you win. It only cuts you off from cooperation. Childhood factors are involved in this little knot. Yet people who were withheld from or treated unfairly sometimes turn out as those who do whatever they can to be especially fair and loving. Or, they can pass forward the teaching that the world is not an equitable or caring place. The most significant generosity you withhold is your personal truth. That would cost you nothing but you fear it would give others an advantage. All it does is block intimacy; consider whether that may be your goal.

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — What do you know today that you did not know one week ago? What are you doing with the information? The chances are it’s a valuable viewpoint, or some form of data. You don’t have to hurry — this is so important that you’d be wise to consider the implications of your discovery. This could be valuable information that may change your viewpoint or the course of your work. You have many of the advantages of anyone you consider a competitor. And you have a much better reputation. I realize that this concept may not seem to be worth much lately, but there are those to whom it genuinely matters and they are the people you want to be associated with, and do business with. Meanwhile, remember: knowledge is power, in many different ways. So use what you know.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — The only relevant concepts that qualify as “spiritual” are being loving, being of service, and being honest. It’s not about how much you meditate, having the right opinions, making money or reading the right books. However, this is a point of confusion for many, who conflate outer appearance with inner existence. I suggest you not take any easy advantage, or use your image to your benefit. You want to do the real work. You want actual growth, not the illusion of goodness. This may require owning up to others for your actions; and to stop any time you think you can give yourself a pass — based on any excuse. Past victimhood is one of the biggest traps of them all. People love confrontations, though your most important encounter in this life is with yourself. Nobody else’s opinion matters. Being this way is much easier than nearly any other in life.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — The world is currently suffering from an extreme lack of humor. True, most of what’s happening is no laughing matter. But humor is often born of a realistic view; a way to express grievances that does not grind your bones and cartilage. It’s also a vent to safely disperse cynical views rather than turning them on yourself or others. Another approach to the sorry state of the planet is to embark on a gift-giving spree. I don’t mean expensive gifts, but rather thoughtful ones, offered to the people in your life who have helped your success and wellbeing. A little generosity can turn someone’s day around — or their week, or potentially their life. The world is taking a lot from everyone right now; you will be happy if you give a little.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — You will feel better when the Sun makes its way into Virgo in a week, but please don’t rush it. Your sense of pressure or stress is an opportunity to focus on what makes you happy. This may involve creature comforts and also spending time with people you care about. If they don’t seem to have time, use your charm and persuasion and get them over to your house for dinner. (The going out for food thing is getting old, and so is take-out. Where is the love?) Right, so you bring the love in the form of care, nourishment, nurturing and creating a space where you and others can feel good. The more space you put around your responsibilities, the more effective you will be. Your leadership is required in several important facets of life, and that means you need to take care of yourself.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — Stay busy, and help others where you know it’s necessary. You have plenty in the way of personal resources and good intentions. The same may not be true of others, so you’ll need to use your discernment and verify whether others are coming from a sincere place or not. There is no rush, though you’ll need to listen carefully and make sure you don’t project your own feelings or best qualities onto any situation. Meanwhile, you have the space to look beyond your immediate situation and your current four walls to consider what your life would look like with much wider horizons. This time of year can be difficult for you, which is related to past struggles and difficulties that are long gone. Let go of those past impressions and get yourself into the moment as fully as possible.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — You have more and better options open than you may imagine. However, you’ll only see them if you’re in a positive frame of mind. That would include a sense of play, recreational time, and enjoying your home or space rather than just living there. Two planets associated with Pisces, Venus and Jupiter, are working together to provide you with a diversity of options, points of freedom, creative energy and, well, good luck. This is available if you reach for it, and may not be delivered by a concierge. There’s nothing automatic; guide yourself like a dolphin, following your inner direction. Be happy that you’re free to do so. Take your space and allow your feelings to expand, even as the world seems to grow more narrow by the hour. Your world does not need to.
