You’ve reason to be optimistic about the year ahead, especially if you take the moment seriously and bring a disciplined game. Jupiter conjunct your Sun in your birthday chart signals a major cycle of growth and opportunities to broaden your horizons in far-reaching ways. A key factor in taking full advantage of this powerful year is your willingness to receive the gifts of deeper self-knowledge being offered. Reach out to supportive allies who share your ideals.

Your Weekend Astrology for Dec. 27-29
Powerful forces are currently underway in the wake of Thursday’s New Moon and eclipse, particularly in the ‘release and move on’ phase of a transformative process. Yet today, there’s also a pair of aspects encouraging you to perceive and include as much as possible in your life.
For one, the Sun is conjunct Jupiter in Capricorn. This is the symbol of consciousness — and the object that makes life possible on this planet in the first place — merging with the planet of expansion, faith and optimism.
They align in a sign ruled by Saturn: the planet of constriction and limits. Think of Saturn/Capricorn simply as your ability to keep one foot planted firmly in the reality of what is so, where you are now. It’s what can make an unlikely-seeming step constructive rather than foolishly risky. The Sun and Jupiter bring the optimism and thirst for experience necessary to move from what is known and comfortable into the creative unknown.
Next is Mercury, the sign of the mind and communication, conjunct the Galactic Core — the center of our Milky Way galaxy, and our ‘cosmic homing signal’. This describes the mental freedom to think beyond the limits of your usual day-to-day; you might even sense yourself on the edge of unraveling a mystery (if you do, be sure to write it all down). Conversations have the potential to offer uncannily profound insights.
Mercury enters Capricorn Saturday night (Sunday in some time zones), joining the full house presided over by the Saturn-Pluto conjunction. Mercury in Cap says: focus on practical details that further the steps you feel called to take toward your vision (the weekend’s Aquarius Moon offers some emotional detachment to support this).
Notice what you are building, and what you must still clear away in order to make room. The two weeks between eclipses (the next one is Jan. 10) are tailor-made for this work.
