We're Publishing Early This Week

Dear Friend and Reader:

This letter includes the Nov. 27 weekly horoscope with STARCAST.

I want to thank you for being a paying subscriber to my astrology writing. Given all the incredible competition, stacked algorithms and paid influencers galore, we are sill able to create Planet Waves, and maintain both quality and a sense of adventure.

Astrology is an introspective art. The digital world is blown inside out, and there is little left to the ‘sense of self’ to which astrology speaks. I am grateful that you are in contact with your being, and that you trust me with my visioning of how the planets describe your inner life.

I am VERY selective what I subscribe to. At minimum it must be honest, and made of human effort, and responsive. I do my best to meet all those marks, and if you have thoughts or questions, just reach out.

As the author of Planet Waves, I view my role as providing context; that’s what we really mean when we say “meaning.” What digital does to consciousness and therefore to people is it strips all sense of framing.

People are having a very difficult time figuring out where they belong. The whole concept of “where” seems to be disappearing; we are getting lost in the anarchy of digital technology. This situation is especially difficult for kids, who are being blasted with propaganda about who they supposedly are and what they should believe.

Yet adults are struggling with stability and to have any sense of potential. Many of us have figured out that it’s all just too much — but there is nowhere else to go. We don’t even need optimism: what is lacking is the sense that anything is possible — on the human level. The world of feeling and sensory perception and appreciation for life is being stripped away by many forces larger than us, and seemingly out of control.

The technique is to flood us with nonstop crisis.

Planet Waves is, in total, a creative revolt against all of this. In my own life and that of my readers, I hold open the space of our humanity, and at least, remind you that it still exists: that you still exist. You may live inside a robot — we all do now — but you are not one.

This weekend, I’m closing in on the end of The Awakening’s written readings. I still have some ground to cover, though I’m making good progress. There much there is to write about, and yet I am being careful to select my ideas and my message carefully. There is big astrology blowing in, like nothing we’ve ever experienced, and that’s part of what people are nervous about.

The Awakening readings morph the very best of what I know from 29 years as a published astrologer (incredible, I know), plus my spiritual training, plus my deep study of media theory.

Digital conditions are creating psychic chaos. They are messing with space and time.

Astrology is the perfect antidote, because it only works thanks to pattern recognition — and is based on the motions of planets that have been in their orbits for aeons. Venus, Mars and Saturn mean today pretty much what they meant to ancient Greek astrologers 2,000 years ago. Astrology connects us with time, space and meaning. And I am grateful to be doing it now, for you.

See you next with Friday’s Planet Waves FM — and Sagittarius Studio.

With love,

Eric

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — With your ruling planet Jupiter hanging out in your opposite sign Gemini, you may be mistaking an inner need for an external one. Everyone needs companionship; though at the moment, your chart is making a strong case for needing introspective time. Turning your focus inward will help you sort out your priorities and expectations in all relationships: past, present and future. You might want to set a policy of needing less and focusing more on your experience with and of the other. Part of the modern relationship game is to think of them as entitlement programs, and this set of values needs to be burned and buried. Also, if love is a dance, consider whether you want to lead, or follow. You cannot meaningfully do both at the same time. This may come down to what aspect of life we’re talking about. Right now, your existence is more about what you have to offer than what you have to gain.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — There are certain kinds of emotional disturbance that you can do without, and one of them involves relatives, and their phantom memories, dictating the course of your life. These come through as overt and covert signals that sometimes seem encrypted in your nervous system. However, though this may be coming through more loudly than you want right now, you do have a chance to see these messages for what they are. Note that they may come through as language, as feelings, or as both. If you pay attention, you can identify the characters. Who is the drunk? Who has the endless appetite for cruelty? Who wants to gather the family together, and overlook people’s toxic influence? Give these people names, and inquire what is motivating them. Part of what vexes you is their anonymity. Give these people names, and identify the specific messages they sent to you, or are sending. This will give you the upper hand.
