Inner Space for October

Inner Space – October 2006

Monthly horoscopes are delivered to subscribers one each Monday beginning with the first Monday that the Sun is in the new sign. The Sun went into Libra Saturday, Sept. 23, so today we delivered the October edition of Planet Waves monthly to subscribers the following Monday. We’re now up to Inner Space (the house and home horoscope originating in Upstate House in New York). Next week we’ll have Lemonade monthly then Flaunt monthly. There are occasional Mondays with no monthly horoscope, always when the Sun is very late in a sign. Remember! Thanks – Planet Waves Editors. Photo above by Paloma Todd.

Introduction

Effects of the recent solar eclipse are still rippling through consciousness, and it will be some weeks before people figure out that the world is a slightly different place. Tension between domestic relationships and work responsibilities has given way to an atmosphere where love, romance and passion suddenly seem as natural as the big anxiety trip we’ve been on the past five years. Will it stay that way? Well, as long as we’re willing to go deeper with people when the Sun and additional planet reach Scorpio later in the month, it surely will. But relationships are moving toward commitment — that is the thing to remember.

Aries (March 20-April 19)
If you feel crowded out of your own house, then make it known and make some space. However, the sense of human presence could just as easily be cause for celebration. The recent solar eclipse right on your relationship angle has freed you from a commitment that was not working for you, and which may have prevented just the kind of socializing that you now have the opportunity to do. The possibilities really are endless.

Taurus (April 19-May 20)
A relationship is looking for some extra space within your household or living space. This may account for the pressure you’re feeling. It’s not enough to clear things up on the mental or emotional levels; the physical plane needs a lot of attention these days, and in your life right now that means freeing up a room or finding a space to spend time where there is enough room to have some freedom and uninterrupted time. The emotional challenges still persist — but will be easier in a clean, well-lighted place.

Gemini (May 20-June 21)
Values about how to relate to and co-exist with former partners have definitely changed. There is no longer the presumption of enmity. True, not everyone is as graceful as everyone else, but the most important value to change involves jealousy. In other words, it’s fair to expect people are not going to be cross with us for going on with our lives. An ex partner who appears this month may be seeking some help letting go of the past, or to get some help changing their ideas about it. They are ready for a true, genuine transformation.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
September’s eclipse not only firmed up your commitment to a new life, but has also proven that you have the strength to make real changes. The most important of these have involved your mental environment: that is, the quality and content of what is in your mind. In truth, this is the beginning of a long process, during which your personal living space will gradually transform itself to reflect your more spacious psychological reality. Meanwhile, you can afford to be generous with the trash and the Salvation Army, including giving away valuables you don’t need to friends who really do need them.

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23)
If I were you, I would be dreaming of extra rooms, floors or extensions to my home every night. Your soul seems to be pushing outward, reaching for new territory, wishing for space with which you can start afresh. You can surely make some adjustments to your home or apartment that fulfill your yearning and that don’t require the assistance of a general contractor. And you can always dream of what you want. But then, if you have some money to work with, now is a good time to get out the graph paper and start sketching.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22)
Old ideas about partnership are nearly impossible to shed. But, slowly, we do drop the burden, if only because repeated experiences make it inevitable. Your charts right now sketch a story about a deep transformation as to what it means to be a husband, wife or domestic partner. At the same time, the past and all its karma has never seemed to be more present. Contrasts are the best teaching devices; allow what you see to teach you to make a choice about what you do want, and more importantly, what you don’t want.

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23)
If you devote yourself to an extended phase of investigating and re-organizing your household finances, you will only profit. Go deep into the process, don’t just add up your grocery bills. There are excellent opportunities coming for negotiations with banks and other financial institutions, and you may be in the position to help others with problems that are significant for them, but where the solution is a relatively modest investment for you. And an investment it is: put your money where your love is, baby.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
So much is turning on this point in your life, and the planets in their courses suggest a total re-evaluation of your priorities. There are obviously reasons for this that go beyond the range of a monthly horoscope, but suffice it to say that this is as big of a moment as you’ve ever lived, and as the autumn progresses, the message will only become that much clearer. For some years, you’ve been working with the utmost sincerity to make home — and to do so in your very own way. This is an invention process, and you are now closer to success than ever.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22)
You may be feeling coupled up — oops, I meant to type “cooped up” but “coupled” came out twice. So let’s call that a Freudian typo. With the planets representing you and your partner in your 12th house, you may feel like big people in a small space, or small people in a very big space, so big you cannot find one another. The good news is that you’re actually growing closer to someone you care about, not further, no matter what strange psychic illusions may be persisting.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20)
A Full Moon early in the month reminds you of the definition of true success. These days, you’ve been thinking of this idea more in worldly terms rather than in interior, emotional or domestic ones. And it’s true that success in “life” does not guarantee success at home. But at the moment there is an unusual connection, and if you’re not seeing it now, it will become obvious before very long at all. Anyway, the work you’ve done has been well worth the effort and time, and has not detracted anything from you as a partner, lover or homebody.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19)
Planets are pouring into your 9th solar house: the cosmic ashram, the pathway to the higher self, and the astral travel agency. The emphasis is on spiritual, but the Sun, Venus and Mars say it’s all so very human. In fact, passionate sex is spray painted all over your charts in every shade of divine madness. If you’re able to arrange it, take a few days off this month, and take a ride in the spaceship known as your home with somebody you love passionately, or at least trust dearly.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Yours is the sign that needs two homes, perhaps more than any other one. Your dualistic nature is so deep that you often lose sight of it. One way to bring out the other side of who you are is to do so in another space. I may have suggested something like this last month and I will take the liberty of suggesting it again. That other side of your brain needs a place to find itself, breathe new air and explore new inner spaces.
