Everything’s About to Happen. But What?
Dear Friend and Reader:
The chart above is for the Sun reaching the cross-quarter — the halfway point between the equinox and the solstice. This has a name — Beltane, or Midspring holiday. In some cultures this is considered the beginning of summer (it makes a little more sense to place think of it here, while the days are getting longer).
In tonight’s Starcast, I work through this chart, and build up to what I think it’s about. It’s the thing that’s so obvious just about everyone will miss it. Yet it’s the thing that we are in and therefore cannot go over, through or around.
We know this from Saturn and Neptune (and currently Venus) on the Aries Point.
What is it? The Aries Point is describing something that exists at the intersection of the personal and the collective: something that affects everyone, personally.
But what? What is the thing happening now that in 10 or 20 years, people will ask: Why didn’t they do anything about it?
That’s what I describe in tonight’s Starcast (above). I focus the same astrology for you personally in the readings below.
Aries (March 20-April 19) — You know who you are. You don’t have to find out and nobody has to tell you. Who you are is what you do, by which I mean hour-to-hour and day-to-day. Yeah yeah, I know about how we are “human beings and not human doings,” but let’s be practical. However, there remains the question of whether you like what you do, or just do it; whether you invest yourself in whatever that is, or just get the job done. Quality is investing yourself in whatever it is you do: your love, your respect for everyone involved, and honoring the process and the result. And this is your spiritual connection to your daily activity — in the immortal words of Jane’s Addiction, the “ritual de lo habitual.” Then there’s the other question of what you tell yourself you want to be doing, or what your Self tells you you want to be doing. That gap is your other growth zone. If you want action, work that space.

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — Consciousness proceeds from the inside out, and if you’re confused, try that on as a working method. Awareness means inner awareness. You exist within yourself, though the whole movement of society right now is that there is no “within” and there is no “yourself” and soon you will be replaced by an android whose voice is a replica of your own. The Sun is now at the peak of its movement through your sign, at something called the cross-quarter. Yet to feel this strength you must do something very unusual for our times, which is to turn your awareness inward toward yourself. What does that even mean? It means paying attention to how you feel, and noticing what you are thinking. It means noticing the hundreds of decisions you make every day, and making them on your own terms. I am not saying that you’re an island and that you should neglect your relationships. To the contrary, it’s impossible for you to relate honestly with others until you have a conscious relationship with yourself.

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — This thing called society has become dangerous to people’s peace of mind, and much more. We’re witnessing the biggest and most disturbing round of a game called “let’s you and him fight.” Once again neighbors are being pitted against neighbors, who are being split from one another because of misunderstandings and disagreements based in ignorance. You have special protection to move somewhat freely in the social world, as long as you maintain your awareness and do your best to be impartial. I know it’s difficult to seem like you don’t have an opinion when you know the difference between right and wrong. Yet your opinion matters less, and your ability to facilitate dialog matters far more. And you are one of the few among the people you know who could succeed in doing such a thing. That is the point of keeping some balance and working consciously with the fact that nearly everyone is misinformed.

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — You are entering one of the most significant times for your career in this year or any recent year; potentially ever. Yet the opportunities that arise are likely to be a little weird, surprising, and potentially disruptive to your plans — but who needs plans when you have action. Still, as a participant in today’s chaotic society, you must be an artist, and an artist must strive for an effect. The effect is what you want to feel when the work is complete and what you want others to feel. You might think, right now things are too wild and woolly for that kind of airy-fairy painting school bullshit. But I ask, what else is your purpose? What else is your guiding principle? Making money? Then get into the money business. What you do is both express yourself and at the same time become yourself. So while we’re here, beware of anything else that seems to want to “become you” or “do what you do.” Your creativity must factor into everything you touch.

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — Planets are gathering in your fellow fire sign Aries, which is opening the way for you to do more and go further. Yet the ingredient you need the most to succeed has become rarer than a rare earth element. That unusual thing would be humanity, which has been plundered by the values and attitudes of the digital age. I don’t mean this in some abstract self. People may not be becoming robots, but more and more would fail the Turing Test: a human might mistake them for an algorithm. You can do anything if you insist on being a person, acting as if that is true, and staying close to your spiritual core. The perfect religion for Leo is respecting humanity. And to do this, you must embody that very thing — and the time is perfect to make this commitment. I know this may sound abstract, so let me make it solid. Take an interest in the lives of the people around you, and actively support them. Every day.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — It’s been nonstop drama — or something — with the recent Mercury retrograde and its conjunctions to Saturn, Neptune and Venus. Most likely you still feel like you don’t know where you stand with significant others, whether business or intimate. Yet the deeper question is not where you stand with others but rather where you stand with yourself. If you don’t know that, then you can certainly seem like your sense of being and belonging is a leaf in the wind. However, when you get a handle on what you want, which is based on who you are, you may find yourself in a situation that feels untenable. Your most likely potential error is to consider the people closest to you as rivals rather than as friends or allies. An honest conversation is necessary, for the purpose of identifying common ground: goals, needs, desires, and of course, all-important, shared emotional territory. Considering the potential impact of any choices on children is essential.

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — It will be a while before your relationships stabilize enough for you to make some decisions. Until then, I suggest you bide your time — which means to abide in your awareness. I’m not saying wait; I’m not saying leave important matters to others. Rather, you will benefit from paying close attention both to your outer environment and your inner weather. The two are closely related, and yet there will be important distinctions, if you can tease them out. So you will need to keep asking yourself, what am I feeling? How am I responding or reacting to this other person? What if they were not a factor; how would you feel in that case? Some of this will be speculative. However, you can address your sense of freefall by putting a few pins in the map, most of them about where you stand with yourself. Said another way, it’s vital that you not let others interfere with your inner relationship — if you understand what that means.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — You would be grateful for simple peace of mind in your relationships, and it may be a real mystery to you what partners have been motivated by the past few years. You won’t find out by speculating. You will only learn what you need to know through a series of in-depth and sensitive conversations, which start by giving the benefit of the doubt to those you hold as intimate. However, for you — apart from any relationship situation — a healing process is called for. I suggest that you begin with taking an inventory of your past relationships, including your sexual history (separate from the tales and sagas of your love affairs). Each will hold clues that reveal the other. People love to pretend that their ‘hookups’ and less-than-formal encounters do not count and are a version of history that should not be accounted for. Over the next few months, a major shift is coming — the first in about seven years — that will summon you to a greater depth of transparency. This starts with yourself.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — For about another month, Jupiter will be in your opposite sign Gemini. This is your grand opportunity to witness and experience the world from the viewpoint of someone close to you. That means how you might seem to them, and we could expand this to learning more about how you are perceived by many of the people around you. The basic truth is that you express yourself one way and you are seen another way. One is not necessarily more or less accurate than the other; that there is a gap is the important thing to consider. And while I would not advocate changing for the sake of others, there is plenty you can do to reach out to people and meet them a little closer to where they are. Of course, if you’re not interested in connection and sharing emotional space, this will not be appealing. Yet if you value warmth and contact, figure out how to speak the language of someone you care about.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — You may find yourself in an increasingly tense emotional situation, especially if you share your life with a domestic partner. Generally with family matters, there’s a cloud of mystery lingering around, which will make it difficult to identify a source of disturbance. For the past year or so, I’ve been describing something I call the Family Hunger Games aspect, which is right in your space — the main feature of Capricorn right now. The ‘hunger game’ is an ‘everyone for himself’ situation that has lingered around from long ago. The emotional cloud involves Neptune newly arrived in Aries, which makes it difficult to feel who you are. Now let’s add Venus, which in Aries is fiery and passionate. Is someone being self-centered in a way you find annoying? What is your relationship to your own emotional and sexual needs? If there is some desperation, put it right on the table and ask what it’s about.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — With Pluto in your birth sign, you may be experiencing a diversity of new thoughts, feelings and desires. It’s possible that the whole orientation of your life is changing, as if the continent you live on is moving. Pluto — a deep and meaningful planet that can remind you of the bottom line (of what you wish, or don’t wish) — is now your focal point of awareness. And as other planets make contact with it, you experience their qualities in new ways. And this month that includes Mercury, Venus, Saturn and Neptune — among others. So many things you’ve taken for granted will reveal themselves in different colors and sensations and speak a different language. It’s fair to assume that nothing is as it was; the question is, what are you noticing? Pay special attention to any relationship where power is an issue. Old approaches will not work (and were not working well anyway). Your new approach will involve recognizing how influential you are.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — You are experiencing a kind of financial reorientation that reaches its first peak of intensity this month. There will be another major peak in early 2026, and how you handle yourself now will prepare you (or otherwise set the scene) for what happens then. So I suggest you proceed with full awareness that one thing will lead to another. You stand at a fulcrum. In a modern context, think of it as the axis around which a telescope’s tube rotates. If you move the telescope one millimeter at the fulcrum, your view through the scope can shift by millions of miles. Therefore, the thing to do now is focus on your orientation in space and time. Where are you, and where are you headed? When you make a decision, how far ahead are you thinking? The choices you make right now will affect the rest of your life, so I suggest you be working with at least a five-to-ten year plan.
