Current aspects describe your dedication to being a craftsman and an artist. You’ve set yourself on a path where you master your skills, one bit at a time, on a daily basis. You are indeed working toward something, a breakthrough that you can sense but you cannot understand. It’s a real thing, though you will need the patience of a true master. There is no rushing the process. Learning and the development of talent often call for repeating the development of certain skills, re-learning, making corrections and uncovering the places where you’ve skipped steps. You are doing all of this for something, though at the moment, it must be for its own sake. Business planning is important, though it’s a thing slightly set apart from developing your core talents. This is a good time to consider the details of your potential approaches to taking your work to a wider world, but please do not conflate the two. To succeed in business, it’s necessary to work with those who have already done so; your personal talents, though, are 100% an inner commitment.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) —Take a long view of your work and financial situations. The current trend is to think you can start a social media account, monetize it and buy a house in three months. Even if that is not your view personally, it’s a keynote of the whole environment and affecting everyone around you. There is little respect for focused dedication, acquired knowledge or patiently working toward a goal. You would be wise to take a retro approach and orient yourself on a development process that will show results or reach a point of breakthrough in about nine to 10 months. Make sure that everything do you, every step you take, is solid, and reflects the integrity you want to express in your final result. There are business aspects to what you’re doing, and artistic aspects, and there are practical ones. If you take a long-haul approach, you will be able to keep those in balance. Meanwhile, in more immediate news, the forthcoming Full Moon will provide you with plenty of energy and ideas to expand your worldview, and connect you with people such that a real discussion is possible. Get this into the physical world if you can, connecting in-person. The more of that you do, the better.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — The Sun moving through one of the most sensitive areas of your chart is going to test some of your relationships. This soft-spot is the sign Cancer, which covers situations where there is usually a mix of financial and sexual intimacy. The challenge is that the Sun is making many different tense aspects to planets in closely related signs.
So the result is likely to be the need for honest discussion and a mutual agreement on what is truly important. In a relationship of two, it’s impossible to work on the basis of “majority rules.” Decisions must be either based on consensus, or one person overpowering the other (which will not work for long). Butler taught me this: Agree first on the underlying values, then make decisions based on them. So the focus needs to be on finding common ground and then working with it. There will often be points of disagreement, though you may ultimately decide that they don’t matter. Working toward shared goals and supporting one another’s ideals is what does. Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — Have you noticed that the lead story these days, in what passes for the news, is how artificial intelligence is going to take over our jobs and our lives? Yet there is nothing mentioned about the state of mind that we are being forced to endure in a world that is run by “artificial and enhanced reality.” You’re likely to want natural, ordinary reality; it’s weird enough and you do well here. This would be an excellent time to get a sense of how you may have been compromised and what you can do to stay grounded in the world of flesh and spirit.
This is about more than refusing to allow every activity to be taken over by some form of a computer application, though that is important. It helps to do things the old way. Use touchstones that connect you to the world in which we were all fully human. Think of these as actual stones that you touch, and make contact with something that is as old as a rock — and let this remind you who you were, and still are.
To stay at least partly out of the Meta-maze, it helps to read physical books, and to notice your state of mind when you do so. Books move slowly. For them to work, you must bring your imagination. This is a real exercise in 2023. They point you inward; you may notice that your inner space needs some dusting off. The ultimate question, though, is your basis for determining whether something is true, especially about you. If the “thought” process in determining anything about you involved a robot or algorithm of any kind, you can assume that there is a problem. You don’t need to be told who you are; you already know.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — Back at the dawn of Planet Waves, we had a joke about a new sign called “Saggitaurus,” the fusion of Sagittarius and Taurus (a mistyping by our first developer, and which I thought was perfect).
However, now that Jupiter (the ruler of Sagittarius) is entering Taurus, you are about to have the direct experience. Yours is one of the most ethereal signs. Taurus is one of the most grounded. Its position in your chart is in the house of getting things done (the 6th). Before this happens, there are a few shuffles to be aware of. One of them involves Mercury stationing direct on the 14th.
Until then you may be hustling to get previously-committed work done — that would be an excellent idea. You want your slate as clean as possible as you enter the Jupiter-in-Taurus era. This will last about one year and one week, ending in late May 2024. And there is a plan involved, which involves working toward a goal that may arrive as a breakthrough, not something you specifically intended. Therefore, your real work is part-inventor, part-discoverer. Your best revelations are likely to occur by what seems like chance, though really it’s no such thing. There is nothing random about setting about work every day, but not knowing what you might learn. Hang loose, and let one thing lead to another. Sure, there will be practical goals to fulfill, though don’t let them interfere with your exploration of the nature of reality.
In Taurus, that would be tangible, physical reality. Jupiter’s message is to keep your priorities and your activities as close to physical, material, analog reality as you can. Start everything on paper, in clay or on your acoustic guitar. In the first instance, skip the iPad. You’ll get there eventually.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — Your ruling planet Jupiter is in rare form right now, glowing and resonating from your fellow fire sign Aries. And it’s hanging out close to another Sagittarian planet, Chiron. Jimi Hendrix, one of the greats born under your sign, once asked the true question: Are you experienced? This combination of factors is urging you to convert your curiosity into action by actually exploring and experimenting. The action is taking place in the 5th place of your chart, the one where you specialize in having fun (to quote another Saggie rock star). Yet this is not where your astrology ends; you are being encouraged in all ways to be productive, and to accomplish solid things for yourself and for others. Ideally this happens in a spirit of gaining direct experience rather than thinking in theory. The emphasis is equally on experimentation with the method and the delivery of something tangible and essential. There is a hot/cool blend here. The hot part is the bold quest. The cool part is how you put what you know to work for others. Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — You were born to express yourself, though it’s much more than that. You could say that art is any activity that changes the artist. And that, in turn, is someone who stays awake and alert with their tools in their hands. All of this is what your astrology says you are now experiencing in a way like never before. This is not necessarily easy, and there is part of you that may be resisting; you are being called on to feel so much, and to respond in a constructive way. As for the intensity of feeling and emotion: this is something around which you need a container, rather than an open moving and mixing of the elements.
Saturn moving into Pisces will provide that for you, and this is also an opportunity to concentrate your energy. If you do this, you will feel safer in the world, and more grounded in your physical space. What I am talking about is the ability to manage your emotions (which means energy in motion) rather than having them throw you around in the way that they often do.
As for expression: in addition to the creative cauldron and self-actualization in Aries, Pluto’s ingress into Aquarius will help you focus your thoughts and distinguish what you are thinking from what everyone else is thinking. Rather, you’re in the situation where you must relate to people with a lot of energy, and who may represent some shadow facet of your character. You are under no obligation to them or their motives. However, that does not change the possibility that they reveal something about you, whether you admire it or despise it; whether you’re attracted to it, afraid of it or both. You may know the personal history here, and it’s vital that you take the established facts under advisement. People who have conducted themselves consistently one way are unlikely to change; if you expect them to, it would be wise of you to account for that position. Meanwhile, you have a life that, at your core, exists apart from any relationship to any other person.
