Your sign hosts the other major conjunction that bookends this year: Jupiter conjunct Saturn, the traditional ruler of Aquarius. That event is exact on Dec. 21, 2020. Before we get to that stunning conjunction, Saturn enters your sign on March 21. So you’ll have much of this year to get busy discovering Saturn’s gifts — which can be considerable.

Your Week Ahead Astrology for Feb. 2-7, 2020

We turn an astrological corner this week: the Sun reaches the midpoint of Aquarius on Tuesday. This is one of the ancient Pagan celebration days, known as Imbolc.

Imbolc is one of the tipping points of the year. For those unfamiliar with the Celtic calendar, there are four seasonal points situated midway between an equinox and a solstice, of which this is one. They are called the cross-quarter days.

One reason the cross-quarters are meaningful is that they are taps into the Aries Point, and therefore run a lot of voltage. (The Aries Point is the first degree of Aries — and by extension, the first degrees of Cancer, Libra and Capricorn — where collective and personal themes intersect.)

Imbolc, also called “Midwinter,” literally means “in the belly,” and at this time in the Northern Hemisphere we are deep in the belly of winter, held in gestation for the coming spring at the Vernal Equinox around March 21. Imbolc is like the first movements of the fetus preparing for birth (read more here about this holiday and its relationship to Aquarius).

In this year’s Imbolc chart, Mercury is in Pisces (it enters this sign on Monday, Feb. 3). It will station retrograde in Pisces on Feb. 17.

Jupiter is working its way across Capricorn and is now close to the midpoint. Its next big event is the first of three conjunctions to Pluto, which I have neglected to mention much but I’m very excited about. This is a big, bold call to soul.

Last week’s Venus-Mars-Neptune arrangement has dissipated some, though it’s still recognizable. Venus is in Pisces square the Galactic Core, and Mars is in Sagittarius, approaching a conjunction to the Galactic Core. This also describes a call to soul, though with perhaps a more personal-yet-intangible flavor.

Please, accept my personal invitation to step up to the challenge of our moment. There is no time like this particular present to collect all of your spiritual training (or perhaps leave it behind) and show up for the need for all of us to be aware, together, right now.
